finished my 6 week raw, benefits

I have been raw for 6 weeks, 4 weeks 90-95%, 2 weeks 98-99%. Something unexpected has happened. The foods I cheat on are less desirable. Pizza is super salty, and chocolate chokes me its so sugary. I may be able to give these up which surprises me. Did anyone else have this experience?

I didn't jump into all raw (I'm high raw now) so I am making this transition over a loooooooong time scale...but yes, the same thing has happened to me with unhealthy or processed foods. I can't even imagine eating a pizza now.

Sure happened to me!
Especially after a juice fast.
Foods that tasted good prior to a fast, just tasted like salt and chemicals afterwards.

It's really funny how things change... every once in awhile I'll want "junk food" and I'll have a bowl of black beans or something... and then I'll feel all awful and complain "Oh I ate so bad today! I feel like trash." And people will ask what I ate and look at me like some sort of crazy person, lol.

To most people cooked black beans are healthy... but when you're used to fruits and raw salads all the time, man is it ever heavy and gut wrenching, literally!

Looks at Corathegreen like she's nuts… =P =D. It will be awhile before I part with pizza entirely. I used to live on pizza. I have it far less often now, and I prefer the thinnest crust and more tomato sauce, veggies. I think this is one thing I can't change cold turkey and maintain that indefinitely.

I used to miss the flavors in pizza sometimes... it's really the sauce and veggies that I craved. Screw the bread and cheese. Making raw lasagna helped a lot with those cravings for italian flavor.

I was on a juice fast pretty heavy for about 6 weeks. Red Wine tasted foreign,
breakfast sausage tasted like a block of salt. Cookies or sweets made me feel sick to my stomach !!

Adam, pizza has been my favorite food since toddlerhood. I cannot remember the last time I ate it or wanted to. It is possible that all our favorite cooked foods likings are just fictions . . .

Pame'la,

This is, I think, a quite common reaction when one eats an increasingly more pure diet. This is why I think it is so useful for us to have testamonials from a wide variety of long-term raw foods vegans.

Btw, you look great and write really well smiling smiley

Wow. I am even more inspired. I've just completed 2 weeks of 90-95% all raw...and all I have so far are my before pics. But I know my pics in a few months are going to look great, because I already feel so much better. I think I'm finally letting go of my last tiny little hold on dairy- I was craving it like crazy, and in the past few days, it is becoming so heavy and not what I want at all.

You look great, Pame'la. Thanks so much for posting!
