I really am not interested in one individuals anecdotal account, rather generally accepted standards which you use to your advantage at times during this thread. We know the generally accepted standard for protein is anything from 0.8-1g per kg of bodyweight, for athletes who weight train it is standard to consume 1-1 1/2g of protein.

Sticking with these guidelines it would be impossible for me on the above diet to consume 9000 calories of that much volume.

To me it doesnt seem very practical to have to eat such a high volume of foods aswell as to excess just to meet nutrient needs, but each to their own.

Yeah i weigh 88.8kg at the moment which is about 14 stone or 190lbs and for reference bodyfat percentage is about 12% at the moment give or take.

14 stone is really not all that impressive from a bodybuilders point of view even though i am about 5, 10 in height. I am rather heavy on the cardio at times also with thai boxing training so that doesn't help much when trying to put on muscle, so i can flucuate to 15 at times but this is a weight im close to being consistent with.

Chris,

Just to be clear, I wasn't proposing 3000 calories per day, just saying I remember some of the 8-1-1 mentioning that figure. I like the top 5 I put into my original post. It's 34 grams of raw vegan protein with about 550 calories and some room for fruits, leafy greens, and additional nuts/seeds to help round out a reasonable intake. I'm not sure based on what I know that the 1-1.2 mg /kg recommendation is necessary. As John Rose has said, there are "safety factors" in there which amounts to a doubling of the recommended value.

Nitrogen balance studies are not perfect, but roughly let you know if you are in balance. Most folks can get by on 20 to 35 grams of protein a day, some need more. Whatever you don't use, your body has to process through the kidney. I think 40 to 60 grams is a good target for me just to be safe.
