ripeness of fruits of vegetables

Hi,
Could anyone tell me when zucchinis, cucumbers, tomatoes are ripe?
Should you put them in a paper bag to ripen?
Should I treat them as if they are bananas and papayas?
How about other fruits and vegetables that need to be ripened? Are there any other?

Zucchinis are ripe when they dark and flexible; they are juiciest when you can almost bend them in half without breaking.

You can go by smell, too. When ripe, they give off a beautiful, fresh scent of whatever flavour they have.

No kidding! I didn't know this. I've been avoiding the bend-ey ones all my life. I guess I've never had a really ripe zucchini! well blow me down! Maybe that's why they've never been one of my favorites.

Yeah, I only realized this by accident one month ago because organic zucchini was on sale and there were only really ripe ones available; I could never go back to eating the stiff, starchy ones now!
