and reasonably priced red peps I'm in a city, so I usually buy stuff daily and have some bananas in my closet now that the season is turning i'm having alot of luck getting most of my stuff for under 1.00/lb the other day I had organic bananas for lunch that I got 'overripe' for 59 cents/lb. 15 peaches that I got for 1 buck in chinatown for a snack after work..and a few avos off a cart for dinner 1 buck each. oranges banana mango papaya kale spinach sprouted lentils raw soy beans apples pears tomatos raw guacomole raw hommous couscous (i know its not raw) tea (not raw) cucumbers zuchinni red peppers watermelon (if availbable) carrots potatos (yes, i bake them) i usually buy enough of all this to last me one week. still not 100% raw but i am movivng towards this. i transitioned over night for the first 3-4 weeks and then i went back to either couscous or baked potato with raw guacomole or hommous for dinner. i eat fruit all day to keep hunger and cravings away. good luck to your friend! Date: June 16, 2007 09:10PM Did our weekly shopping at the organic farmers market this morning:
I 1/2 kg spinach 1 kg beet tops 1 bunch parsley 2 bunches other greens (can't find the English name) 3 bunches celery 2 lettuces 100 gr arugula 4 red peppers 4 bulbs fennel 6 large cucumbers 2 zuchini 2 cauliflowers 2 kohlrabi 1 kg roma tomatoes 1 kg cherry tomatoes 2 punnets strawberries 12 kg oranges 2 kg apples 3 lemons 100 gr pinenuts 100 gr sundried tomatoes 8 medjoul dates 250 gr deglet nour dates 100 gr macadamias 100 gr cashews 100 gr mixed nuts/raisins The greens and fennel are for smoothies and juices. The cauliflowers, kohlrabi, sweet potatoes, zuchini, sundried tomatoes and pinenuts are for gourmet dishes which my kids eat once or twice a week and I also invited a friend for dinner on Sunday. The nuts and raisins are treats for the kids. I still have half a case of bananas and 2 small boxes of mango's at home and yesterday I bought 2 avocados,2 galia melons, 3 pineapples and 2 gigantic watermelons at the regular market. This will feed me and my two kids for a week although I will have to buy more fruit as we all eat a lot of fruit and I might pick some more greens in the park. Francis Re: Typical shopping list

Date: June 23, 2007 04:38AM Re: what are apriums?
Apriums are a apricot plum hybrid - 75% apricot, 25% plum. They look very much like plums. There are also pluots, which are 75% plum and 25% apricot. And there are plumcots, which are 50% plums and 50% apricot. re: dinner at bryan's. Ok. If you are ever going though Humboldt county in California, send me a PM and we'll have dinner at my place. Date: June 23, 2007 05:25AM Aw, man! Bryan, I just returned to Pennsylvania from a 2 1/2 week west coast road trip. I went right through your neck of the woods. I'll be back there for our annual trip next June. Which town/area are you in? It'd be fun to connect for a meal when we pass through next time.
Peace, Shawna Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
