Date: February 07, 2008 09:10PM Hey. Thanks. The mango flan is from The Raw 50 and has mango and coconut meat, with almond milk and agave. The recipe didn't work as directed and I'm also not happy that there's a typo in the book and I contacted the author and never heard back on what was correct for the recipe. But anyway!
The carrot cake is from The Complete Book of Raw Food, as was the superfood tabouli, so I can't give those out. The carrot cake has carrot pulp, juice, raisins, coconut, nuts, spices - it was so, so good! The frosting has cashews. The tabouli was mint, hempseeds, tomatoes, cucumber, lemon juice. Sunflower seeds balls and truffles are my creations, so I can give those out. 1 c. sunflower seeds 1/3 c. sun-dried tomatoes 1 tsp. dried basil 1/2 clove garlic 2 T. raw tahini 1/2 medium carrot Put first three ingredients in food processor and pulse until the tomatoes are chopped into small pieces. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse until finely chopped and combined, with the mixture sticking together easily. Add salt if desired. Shape into balls. 1/2 c. finely ground cacao 1/3 c. raisins 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. almond extract (if desired) 1/4 c. agave nectar (or try 2 T. agave and 3 drops liquid stevia) 1 T. coconut oil 1 T. almond butter (raw) or cashew butter or more coconut oil for coconut flavor 1/2 c. hempseeds plus more for rolling Combine all ingredients besides hempseeds in a processor and puree, scraping down sides, to completely mix. Add the hempseeds and pulse to mix and thicken the mixture. Chill, if necessary, or wet hands to form into balls and drop into hempseeds to coat. Freeze for 30 min. or chill in the fridge for one hour. Eat!!! Re: Pictures of your FOOD!

BananaBlossom, There are some instructions for how to upload photos in the first thread of this forum called "formatting your posts" It took me a little trial and error, but once i figured it out I went a little crazy! Date: February 08, 2008 06:46AM Aloha, BananaBlossom,
I sure do live in Hawaii...in every sense of the word "live" too! You will love it if you haven't been. It's a wonderful place to be raw... although I've never been raw anywhere else, so it's an uninformed opinion I guess. Which islands are you visiting? The cashew cookies are so easy as well: 1 c. raw cashews 2 T. agave nectar (raw) 1 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. sun-dried cherries Pulse the cashews in the processor a few times to make pieces. Add agave and vanilla and pulse again. Add cherries. Form into balls and refrigerate for 30 min. (or you may have to chill to form into balls or wet your hands). Re: Pictures of your FOOD!

Speaking of colors.... The heirloom tomatoes are back! ...the people rejoiced ...and wondered how they had survived so long without them. Red, gold and zebra green heirlooms on sunflower sprout-arugala salad with cucumber pesto (hidden beneath the tomatoes). wud u mind sharing your cucumber pesto recipe? i've made pesto before with basil garlic and pine nuts but did u just add cucumbers to it? curious Re: Pictures of your FOOD!

Date: February 12, 2008 03:47PM Good eyes LaV... I couldn't even see the pesto until you pointed it out
it couldn't remain hidden forever, it needed to show itself. The pesto is a beautiful color, but the heirlooms stole the show again. Cucumber pesto is easy; 1 cucumber, lots of basil leaves, 1 clove garlic, couple spoonfuls of avocado... blend until smooth. Serve on anything.... drink the left-overs out of the blender! yummy, Greg Aloha Nui Loa, Greg A great many people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices. - William James There is no pill that can be swallowed, There is no guru, that can be followed, - Michael Franti (Pray For Grace) The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion. - Albert Camus Re: Pictures of your FOOD!
