What are your favorite sea veggies?

My favorites are arame, dulse, kelp and nori. Today I made a nice miso soup using the arame and nori. I use a lot of dulse flakes to season my food. I'm pretty liberal with the powdered kelp, too. Kelp noodles are fantastic!! I've been using them with marinara sauce and pesto sauce. I use the ones from Sea Tangle.

What are your favorite sea veggies, and how do you use them?

I try to do without seasonings, herbs and spices. I also found out that Nori isn't so raw even if it says so because I read they have fish scales in them. I try to just stick with Fruits, Veggies, nuts and seeds since I've been reading the 811 diet book. Dr. Graham hit it dead on when he said that seasonings, herbs and spices are mucous forming. I never knew why I would get that way after a big raw gourmet meal. Now I know for sure why.

Dulse and nori work for me. I never developed a taste for any of the others. I love to eat dulse right out of the package, and nori is great if I make sushi-like roll-ups filled with interesting vegetable pates spiked with beet root powder or chili powder or whatever. (I borrowed the recipes from the label on those seaweed roll-ups you can buy in health food stores. I love the Mexican one best.) I wish the uncooked nori was as cheap as the cooked nori that you can buy in Japanese food stores.

I haven't actually had any seaweed for several months-- haven't wanted it. Maybe this winter I'll try a bit again, but usually I just want fruit and vegetables and an occasional avocado.
