we'll see what they have. most people just let the cafe cater (it's a raw place) and i'm going to do that for my first time, too. Re: Whats uncookin tonight?

Date: April 20, 2008 02:16AM I'm new to this forum, kinda. I joined last year.
Today, I made a RAWsome dinner I just wanted to share. I'm glad this post is here. I guess you'd call it tacos, but it was SO much better than the average person's tacos. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/20/2008 02:18AM by idarastar. Re: Whats uncookin tonight?

Date: April 20, 2008 02:23AM idarastar, those look beautiful! Collard greens are great for making all kinds of wraps.
Here's my dinner: mango and spicy sunflower seed paté on a bed of mixed greens, with a glass of green kombucha Since I'm up north I'm not very well aware of the growing seasons for tropical fruits, but I've noticed that the mangos at my store have gotten less expensive and tastier lately. This one was extremely sweet and had an almost pineapple-like undertone to the flavor. spicy pate

Date: April 20, 2008 02:38AM today was my first time making a nut pate. i used to almond pulp from my first batch of almond milk ever! (i'm very proud of myself..hehe)
what spices did you use for yours? I mixed mine with pressed garlic, chives, black pepper, sea salt, nutritional yeast and a little curry powder/taco seasoning i mixed up. Re: Whats uncookin tonight?

Date: April 20, 2008 03:00AM Congrats on your first nut milk. Getting past my first nut milk was a big thing for me because I had far overestimated the difficulty, the mess, etc... Once I had done it that once it completely changed my thinking on the matter.
For the paté I used a bunch of sun dried tomatoes (soaked awhile so they'd blend in the food processor), parsley, onion, curry powder, cayenne powder, nama shoyu (soy sauce), lemon juice, and a touch of agave nectar. It's good, but not the sort of amazing combination I'll etch in stone so that it isn't lost to civilization! The tomatoes are good, and give the paté that nice rosy color - sunflower seeds are kind of grey by themselves. Next time I'll try different spices and probably some garlic. I don't know when that will be; I don't do nut patés often. Re: Whats uncookin tonight?

I have finally gotten to an all raw state the past 7 days. I have no intention of turning back. Feeling real good. Brian Re: Whats uncookin tonight?

Thank God that raw food seems to be helping me so much. On the verge of losing so much,so that gives me the motivation to stick with it. Brian Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
