Thanks. I wonder what type of food they eat, these ones. They could easily get into the cupboards and ravish the food in them. Get in the sugar and agave etc. but they don't. I haven't seen them in the food, just on the counters. Maybe they eat bugs. It is a 3 story house, and they are on every floor and room, so finding the entrances will be difficult. I'm sure if they want back in they will

The ant situation in our house is starting to get really really bad. I used to see them here and there once in a while. Now they are pretty much in every single room, especially in the kitchen. Every time I look down at a counter I see at least one of them or lots of them. In the kitchen there are tons of them behind the appliances and around the cupboards etc. I don't know what to do because

I get headaches from perfume too, as well as skin reactions sometimes, like an allergic reaction. Well it's good to know my good sense of smell might just be a sign of being healthier. Funny, I always say that my sense of smell is like a dog. However, I'm sure theirs are even more sensitive. But like a little dog, I often do that quick inhaling thing to smell something better and try to recognize

Me too. I'm not all raw, but my sense of smell is SOOO strong compared to everyone else around me. I can always smell things they can't. And even things that others can smell and are strong enough for them to smell, they are not bothered by them while I am. I am very sensitive and easily offended by smells. There are actually few things that smell good to me. Fresh raw food smells great, plants a

Thanks Dream Earth. That's what I did seem to notice with the dandelion. I love cilantro, chives, and other herbs. Maybe it is because of how strong and healthy the dandelion is, or maybe it has natural pesticide chemicals in it that deter insects? I would like big salads with lettuce, chard, collards, kale and everything. But I guess I will just stick to the herbs and weeds and grasses to get th

I want to eat more greens, but I can't figure out what to do with all the live bugs on all of them. I don't like to purposely kill or eat live bugs. I always usher them out of my house, and am even so obsessed as to search and rescue them out of my tub before turning on the water. So, even though I've been wanting to eat greens for so long, every single time I look at them I see the little gu

I don't see why fresh wouldn't taste good. It tastes good when they are rehydrated. Has anyone tried it from the sea? So, stay away from Kelp then.... I'm sure the sodium in them is healthier then the straight sea salt. I wonder how much you can reduce the sodium by soaking them first and tossing the soak water. It's not the only attraction, they are full of minerals, detox heavy metals a

I get carb cravings when my blood sugar drops. Unfortunately even green smoothies still have a lot of sugar and make me hungry right afterwards. Try snacking on a low fat nut like salted pistachios. That usually levels out my blood sugar from all the fruits etc. Raw bars help too. Or you can also make sprouted quinoa with hemp seeds.

Me too. Wish someone knew.... I know there is danger of too much iodine, but what are the upper limits for it? And is there any danger of pollution with sea veggies? I like Maine Coast.

How do they compare? I don't like many land greens but I like sea vegetables. Could they replace the need for leafy land greens? Do you need to eat much less of the sea kind to get the same nutritional benefits of the land greens, and what would that ratio look like? Is there any danger of eating sea vegetables daily like sea lettuce and little dulse etc.?

Thanks. This is the one I am seeing in the stores and am curious about though. Where do the kefir granules come from? What is the source? How does it all start and how are they born? I've heard that they have to grow in dairy and then they get reused and sold and passed along and everything. That they need the lactose to grow.

I know that Kefir grains are usually not vegan and require to be grown in dairy mediums before they are sold to be used to make kefir. I've been seeing a lot of "coconut water kefir" though that uses coconut water instead of milk with the kefir grains, which sounds very interesting to me. I used to love kefir as a kid and have been vegan for like 12 years now. How I can I tell if th

Thanks Rob. So the main reason for eating greens is for the minerals? Aren't there a lot of minerals in nuts and seeds too? Funny, I never thought of cabbage as a leaf since it is not soft and is crunchy like vegetables are. I like cabbage, but unfortunetly on your chart it is low in calcium. But almonds and sesame seeds have a lot of calcium right? What about sea vegetables? Like Nori and Du

My teeth have gotten very sensitive lately. They are sensitive to almost everything I eat. Including all the fruits, citrus, nuts, seeds, and smoothies etc. What can I do to help with the sensitivity? I'm afraid if I gave up everything I ate that makes them feel sensitive that I would starve and go hungry. I don't even like leaves, I certainly couldn't live on them alone. HELP!

Are only LEAVES considered Greens? What about Celery, Cucumber, Cabbage, Zucchini, etc. What is so great about getting greens in your diet? Is it because of the chlorophyll? Doesn't any food with a green pigment contain chlorophyll in it? I heard even hemp seeds which are slightly green contain chlorophyll in them. How much of it do we need each day? Obviously, I like vegetables, but

No wonder their coconut oil sucks. Temp. do not reach 125 F in Fedex trucks. What BS. Those drivers are constantly going in and out of the back of the trucks. How could it possibly get that hot? And with all those delicate goods etc. I've had stuff sent to me, coconut oils and such, in the summer, and the oil was not even really liquified. So how hot could it be. I've also had stuff shipped on ic

I wanted to know about this for a while. I wonder like when I buy something and look in the bag or container and one is totally bad but the rest look normal, or most of them look normal, are they all still bad? I bought these kumkuats and when I opened the bag the next day one was full of fuzzy mold all over it, so I threw it out. The rest looked normal though and I couldn't see anything on them.

I've only heard about the Vitamix blender recommended from everyone I know, but I haven't been able to buy one. Does anyone have the new Blendtec blender? How is it compared to the vitamix? Is it worth buying over the vitamix if I don't win this? I'm trying to win a free one at but I only have 1 day to get someone to sign up so I get entered in the drawing. I already wrote my family but I don

What is the point of your comparison? There are different nutrients in oranges compared to coconut oil. Sustaining yourself purely on one food alone and that food being completely devoid of nutrition is two complete extremes. Does it have everything the body needs, no of course not. But not having everything the body needs as opposed to having nothing the body needs is completely different. I don

The point is these fruits are not all simple carbs, they are complex. Taylor asked if any complex carbs are fruit and you answered that fruit is just simple carbs. He deserves to know the full information. And anything bad you have to say about complex carbs applies to them as well. You can't get your fruit without the complex carbs of the fiber, unless you juice them. So they are not pure simple

OMG. You don't read anything. If you read any of the stuff or the link you would see that starch is only ONE type of complex carb. You eat tomatoes right? You eat celery right? Cucumbers? Apples? Oranges? Do you consider all of those starches? Here's the link again since you obviously missed it. Some of the COMPLEX CARBS found in some NON-STARCHY fruits or vegetables as well as seeds i

I never said that I eat or enjoy oils or salt Bryan. You're changing the subject from the facts, to personal enjoyment. I wasn't asking for or need your approval of what I or anyone else eats. I just want the facts to be straight that are being presented here. You said that all oils are completely devoid of nutrients, and they are not. Has nothing to do with what people like or how they feel

Many fruits and vegetables have both simple and complex carbs in them because of all the fiber in them. It's not just starches. "Complex carbohydrates may be classified as either starches, which have alpha glycosidic linkages, which are readily digested by intestinal amylases or as dietary fiber which have beta linkages which are resistant to these enzymes." "Complex car

Many vitamins are derived from natural sources, and if they are identical to the natural version dervived from food or made in the body like arugula pointed out, the body does recognize it and use it. It has to. The problem is absorption and also all the co-factors and the balance of dosages that you usually get in the full complex of a food. High amounts can create imbalances or defficiencies in

Our bodies will adapt to almost anything, they are amazing. If we eat very small amounts at a time like I have then it adapts to not being able to eat much at a time. The stomach shrinks or something. I used to be able to eat full meals like everyone else, now I can only eat very small amounts at a time. Just 1 large glass of smoothie or a bowl of soup makes me feel full and bloated and over-stuf
