This is from a hair care site that explains how crash dieting, eating under 1200 calories, causes hair loss. It also explains how it will grow back.

I would make sure that any distiller you buy is UL listed and read reviews on Amazon or other places where customers can review products. If the company's website has a parts list where you can buy replacement parts, that shows (to me) that they support thier product after sale. I have a Ecowater distiller just because I found it used for cheap, and it's been working great for 3 years. As f

I was just at the dentist and I was wondering if dental scalers cause harm, for example, do they damage the enamel so that there are scratches for bacteria to hide in? Also those "explorers that they stick into every nook and crany, they seem to have a lot of potential to damage. I did a search about this but couldn't get any specific information about them being harmful. Thanks!

Ha ha, you replied while I was editing. I recommended Fit for Life and then I thought that the Edyie Mae book would actually be more interesting and more of a raw food book :-)

A really great book is How I Conquered Cancer Naturally because it follows someone who was eating SAD and then made huge changes and got well. It has a few recipies but it's mostly an autobiography.

A possible solution would be to mix the lemon juice in with the vegetable juice. I do this anyway with my vegetable juices to make them taste better.

I warm up raw food all the time :-). Usually it's just warming the water for smoothies or chia seeds but you can also put zucchinni pasta in a pan and warm it up. Lot's of people would put things like that in a dehydrator to warm them up but I don't have the boxy kind of dehydrator, mine has stackable trays so I can't put bowls in it to warm things up.

It's the 9/11 anniversary and I noticed an article about 9/11 illnesses and that interested me in treatment for asbestos and found out that homeopathy seems to help it. Cool! Along the way I found this funny skit dissing homeopathy and other alternative remedies. So what if it's full of errors, it's still funny and might interest some people into looking into this stuff. Here it is . . . &q

More info: There are many types of calcium compounds (95 accoring to Wiki) pure calcium is a silvery metal, so the calcium we are more familar with is in compounds with other substances. The type in mineral water is calcium carbonate and excessive consumption causes renal failure according to drugs.com. In other words, calcium carbonate will clog your kidneys just like it clogs your showerhea

KidRaw I've never thought much of the minerals in tap water since I read about Paul Bragg's grandfather. He drank well water with a high mineral content and his autopsy said that his arteries were like stone. You can read about it at this link (it's only 2 pages of this book). You wouldn't add powdered rocks to your diet would you? Well drinking well water is about the same thing.

This Dr. had a dream about injecting goats with the AIDs virus. When he woke up he started injected goats with AIDs and found that the goats made a serum which he then injected into AIDs patients. The patients felt remarkably better almost immediately! Then he got murdered. Some of his patients were tested a year later and "are doing well". AIDs cure? We've been waiting long enough

Chia seeds! They are high in calcium, protein and Omega 3's and their natural antioxidants help keep them fresh for a very long time. I would also buy raisins in commercial packages since the proffessional packaging would help keep them fresh. I've also seen raw fooders mention that they've stocked up on cooked foods, just for their shelf life, but I think that might be a big temptation :

But the pictures are always interesting to look at, this site shows one of them and has a recipe from the book for "Mild Laxative Balls".:

Cold water, that's crazy, but so is using a cleanser, so maybe they go hand in hand and you should use cold water with a cleanser. Now coconout oil and hot water is my favorite. They also claim that cold water will get the blood flowing, but hot water will too. You can actually see it, your face will turn red.

Some things that I've heard are that selenium works with vitamin E to fight cancer. Vitamin E is basically the fat-soluble version of Vitamin C in that they perform similar functions but one is water-soluble and the other is fat-soluble. I've read that the more selenium you have in your body the more Vitamin E you will have because they work together. Brazil nuts are a reliable source of this nut

OK, so it's been awhile since I looked into 80/10/10 but a long time ago I noticed that one of the reasons that people avoided fat is because it blocked insulin from going to the cells. Now some fats, like Omega 3's, will actually improve the function of insulin. So maybe people on an 80/10/10 diet would do better, and safely up their intake of fat while still staying true to the 80/10/10 princip

How DCA works is similar to the way raw food works. Raw food builds the blood and brings more oxygen to the cancer cells, and DCA works with oxygen too. "Cancer cells change the way they metabolize oxygen in a way that promotes their survival. In laboratory studies of isolated cancer cells grown in tissue culture, DCA restores the original metabolism, and promotes their self-destruction.&

Some people wonder if liver flushes are myths. They think that what is happening is that saponification is fooling people into thinking that they are cleansing their liver of stones, when what actually is happening is that they are just saponifying the oil and lemon juice. But, I've found interesting soap making sites that say that saponification both requires heat to get started, and also is

Transitioning is a huge struggle. I always felt like my body was keeping tabs on the foods it was missing and then it would try to "catch-up" by making me binge. I once went to the cupboard and pulled out pasta and made it with as much self control as an addict to more serious substances might have. A lot of the foods in the SAD diet are very addictive (Wheat has gluteomorphine, mea

Instead of cans or jars think plastic bags. The frozen fruit in the supermart is raw (the frozen vegetables are blanched) so you could be buying frozen fruit! One advantage of frozen fruit is that the fruit is ripened on the vine or in the field and then quickly frozen. At least that's what I assume since everything I've read about food processing has the fruit being trucked to the processing
