I have never been to one, but would be very interested in travelling to Vancouver to see her - do you know the dates/times? Thanks! Sapphire

Wow, what an amazing story. In so many ways, it parallels my own, although I can only imagine how hard it must have been to lose her leg. I also tried the macrobiotic route, but the raw food diet makes more sense to me, and I wasn't all that crazy about the macrobiotic food. Hopefully, this will be enough to help me in my journey back to health. Those of us who survive would dearly love t

Hi Jodi: Your garden sounds wonderful - I am hoping to start getting some garden beds ready this summer - my back yard is pretty much undeveloped, except for the "creative" efforts of our dogs, haha!! (Lots of holes dug, and dead grass, LOL!) I live in Nanaimo, we're practically neighbors! I am also on one of the local Dragon Boat teams here as a breast cancer survivor. We

Thank you so much Bryan: I am starting to become more and more convinced of exactly what you are saying - most of the supplements I was taking aren't really necessary. I've gone off pretty much everything except the Co-Q-10 (because of the supposed connection with breast cancer - don't want that to come back!), and the IP6-Inositol, same reason. And when these run out, I am going to take a v

So true Taylor, so true.... Every time I walk down the street with my girls, the guys just can't seem to help themselves - they all whistle at me, haha. I keep telling my girls, one day they will be gorgeous like their mom, hee hee hee!!!

Thanks Rawgosia and Taylor, You are probably right about the fruit. I have been eating tons of it, and that's why I haven't wanted much water lately, but I guess three months raw isn't yet enough to have made a difference. Patience, patience! Sapphire

You are right - I feel I don't need much more water than that these days, but when I was still eating a cooked food diet, I seemed to need a LOT of water.

Biological Terrain Assessment: I went and had my biological terrain assessment today, and I have come home even more confused than ever. The issues of greatest concern (as far as I can tell) are: adrenal function is very compromised, there is a lot of kidney stress showing up, and I am quite dehydrated on a cellular level. I threw a bit of a hissy fit when he started talking about dehydra

You know, I think it is very easy to blur the issue when it comes to the medical profession. If you think about it, what does a doctor learn, what does he/she spend years and years in medical school becoming an expert at? Not health, but illness and injury - how to treat a diseased or broken body. And that information alone is encompassing enough to be a complete profession in of itself - thin

As a survivor of a very serious illness, I have to agree. You really must listen to your doctor. Ultimately, it is up to you what treatments you are comfortable with, but this sounds pretty serious, and if you don't take care of it properly, it could cause you serious long term problems. That being said, it would be purely beneficial to you to support any and all conventional treatments you

Hi Rawrrr - I have had most of mine out, all but one. We didn't do them all at once, and I didn't notice feeling any worse for having it done, but then who can really say. The best thing would probably be to do as much research as you can, and talk to your dentist about it. This video is absolutely frightening! I wonder how accurate it is, what scary images! Something to really think abou

I have never tried this, but I have read about it. Are you going to try it, and if so, would you please let us know what you think? I'd love to hear from an actual person who tried it rather than someone just trying to sell the product.

I thought this was interesting - synthetic vitamin supplements don't do much for you, in fact, it turns out they might actually do some harm. Vitamins I worry when I see articles like this, because people might assume that this means it isn't important to eat the right foods to get these vitamins. In fact, the article even states that this only refers to synthetic supplements, but not ever

I know exactly how you feel - my family isn't raw either. I don't think it is a good idea to be too insistent on raw, but rather, to maybe challenge yourself to make some fantastic salads and make sure to include that with your regular meals to start with. I also like to have a big veggie platter with some dip for the kids when they get home from school - I never tell them it's raw or healthy,

I did the MC a couple of times - the first time for 14 days, the second time for 24 days. I thought it was very interesting. Around the 5 or 6 day, I became obsessed with cooking (my family isn't raw, only me) - I couldn't get enough of the wonderful smells of cookies baking, breads, lots of elaborate recipes I would never normally bother with. The family thought they were in heaven, LOL! I

I have both the wet and dry blades. I use the dry blades a lot less frequently, but I do use them. I have never tried to interchange them, so I don't know how that would work. You can see by looking at them that they are a different design, so I think if you will use both, you should probably get both, but you could always start with just the wet blade and order the other one later. (Might be

My grandma made everything amazing too. The best was bread baking day, because she would also make the most wonderful tasting donuts - never tasted anything like them. But even her most ordinary snacks were so delicious - for the short time we lived in the same neighborhood as my grandmother, my mom had a hard time making me stay home to eat breakfast, haha!! So sad I never learned her secr

Thank you so much Coconut Chronicles and Cynthia for your nice comments! It is so great these days to be able to look in the mirror, and see a healthy looking person! My hair is better, the dark circles under my eyes are a lot less, my skin is more even, things are really looking better for me. I am actually starting to believe, for the first time in a long time, that I might even get my hea

One of my daughters.... Potato chips (chips, not fries) with vinegar drizzled over them - a friend of hers does this, and now all my kids love to do this - gross! Also, she puts ranch salad dressing on almost everything. Her boyfriend does this and she just picked up the habit. During my first pregnancy, I got such a craving for green olives. I went out and bought a big restaurant size

Ack! I gotta go visit my mom in March for a week. She lives in a little senior's residence, and lights one smoke off the last - it's so gross in that tiny room, but her health is bad, so I don't want to avoid her now and regret it later. Thankfully, I have a sister that lives near to her, so I don't have to sleep in that! Will probably need an iron lung for a while when I get home, LOL!

I believe that alcohol can cause magnesium deficiencies, you may want to look into that. If the person has stopped drinking and is in a recovery process, you might want to look at the herb milk thistle. It should help with repairing damage to the liver. I also read once about a connection between a sensitivity to sugar and a sensitivity to alcohol, so anyone with an alcohol problem might wa

I thought this was interesting - to see what different countries are doing about smoking around the world: smoking It is clear that attitudes vary quite a bit from one place to the next. Just click on any country shown for more information. Sapphire

Hi Taylor, You have such a wonderful attitude. I am so sorry to hear about your son, this is going to be so challenging for him. And for you - hooray for you to be there for your kids the way you are. How would they manage without your help? I'm hoping to get my garden going a little this year. Had such a wonderful garden in our old house, but there is so much work to be done here. Ti

A couple of years ago, one of my daughters was involved in a very intensive program of gymnastics (she was a competitive gymnast). She trained so hard, up to 20 hours a week of resistance, flexibility and balance training, and before we knew it, she became so muscular. Meanwhile, the coach kept hinting to me that I should restrict her calories, because he wanted to see her get that "ripped
