Though these ideas may not be very popular, it's what works for me: 1) If you are wanting to embrace a raw and living foods lifestyle for life, commit to it 100% and don't look back. I've found that when I waffle in whether I want to be raw or not, this leaves open a door to eat cooked, and I usually take it. When my commitment is 100% and I know that this is what I want for the entirety

I'm looking for a sweetener to replace honey and agave syrup. Has anyone found a proportion of dates to water, pureed, to mimic the consistency and sweetness of honey and agave? thank you.

Are pinenuts and Brazil nuts raw? In many books the authors do not advocate soaking pinenuts. Why do all the other nuts need to be soaked to neutralize enzyme inhibitors, but pinenuts do not? thank you.

Jgunn - What an incredible list!! I'm adding it to my 'favorites'. Islandgirl - Boy, can I appreciate what you're going through. These suggestions may or may not be what you need: 1. Once you commit to being 100% raw, don't ever eat cooked again. I have read testimony after testimony, and have had personal experience, that once one indulges in cooked, it's hard to get back on the wag

Something I read once that was really convicting for me is this: "If we're busy judging someone, we're most likely not loving and praying for them." This has revolutionized my thoughts toward people.

Hi. I asked this question in another forum but didn't receive a response, so I'm trying it here: I purchased a Saladacco to make pasta strands and failed miserably. Has anyone successfully used a Spirooli? Is a Spirooli easier to use than the Saladacco/spiral slicer? Do the strands come out noodle-like or more like the thin, flat peels you'd get with a vegetable peeler? Thanks.

70. Phase 1
I think I understand the idea behind Gabriel Cousens Phase 1 program. Apparently many clients come to him with a lot of bad stuff in their blood (mold, fungus, bacteria, viruses, etc.), which feed on sugar and wreak havoc in their host's body. I believe that being sugar-free for 90 days gives the body a chance to kill off these harmful microorganisms and get the body healed and balanced and abl

Others may beg to differ, but I believe that a veggie salad is only as good as its dressing. Is it possible that you could take an hour or so to make up 4 great tasting salad dressings? This way your basic salad, which is easy to prep, can taste like four very different, delicious meals simply due to your choice of salad dressing. - smile ** When I feel burned out, I just throw everything

Are the enzyme inhibitors in nuts only in the skin, or are they in the flesh as well? The Brazil and pine nuts that I purchase come with their skins removed, but if the flesh also has the inhibitors in them, I'd like to soak them first. thank you

I want to grow my own wheat and barley grass, as well as buckwheat. I don't want to use plastic containers to put the soil into. I'd like to use terra cotta pots, but want to make sure this is a safe option. Does anyone know of anything bad in the clay that's used to make terra cotta? thank you

When my daughter was in public school, I'd watch the children drink chocolate milk and eat Fruity Pebbles for breakfast at the free food program. It made me very SAD. Also, processed and sweetened foods were offered frequently during classtime (crackers, fruit gummie snacks, etc.). I homeschool now. What I've noticed about many other homeschool families is that though they aren't raw, the

Speaking of cinnamon as a warming agent, I know that cayenne pepper also warms a body up. A gal at the health food store rubs it on her hands and feet when she gets cold. I tried it out and it works. ~ smile

Earthangel - Is your diary under Sachelle? Noff - I tend to be like you when it comes to exercise. I enjoy the outside natural scene, so I do a lot of walking. We have a woodsy hill close by that has a paved walk up to the top. That's usually my exercise of choice. I like to go hiking too, but the opportunities I get for that are only once or twice a year. I like Jorge Cruise's "8

Hello. I'm doing well. My daughters and hubby are joining me for raw breakfasts. We usually start out with a solid piece of fruit and then later have a fruit smoothie with some sort of raw nut/seed milk. Earthangel and Noff - do either of you do any regular type of exercise? If so, what? -smile

Raw smoothie day went surprisingly well. I had a moment of temptation this evening to eat cooked food--I occasionally go to meetings on Friday nights where they often serve really disgusting food. I knew it would be easy to drink my dinner smoothie ahead of time and not be tempted by anything they were serving. Well, I found out they were doing a BBQ potluck tonight. This part was tempting,

Welcome. Jorge Cruise has several "8 Minutes in the Morning" books that have very simple body moves to build muscle and lose fat. I own 3 of his books and love them! Anyone can do 8 minutes in the privacy of their own home. This little something is better than nothing. The best to you, smile

Earthangel and Noff, I thank you greatly for your encouragement. I started the a.m. off with a blended apple and dash of cinnamon. It tasted better than I anticipated. Mid-a.m. consisted of "Blueberry Sunrise" (almond milk, frozen blueberries and bananas). This was truly delicious. I just drank a green smoothie for lunch. Noff - I've made many a green smoothie, and I h
