One month raw today! Whoo-hoo! This time I will beat my old record of 6 weeks and keep on going! Those foot patches worked great! My daughter helped me put one on the right side of my neck and on my upper left back (where it was hurting also) and then I put one on each foot. All four pulled out a lot of stuff and looked yucky. My neck and back felt better and then the massage helped me to feel

Prism, I used to love their bean burritos!!! I am starting to experience a lot of food cravings. The smell from the company cafeteria is calling to me, especially the breakfast meats which I used to love... I was tired and a little grumpy last night. I ate too many fruits and nuts last night and had a very bad blood sugar this morning. I am definitely going to do a colonic this weekend. I t

Yes, norman walker and ann wigmore were some amazing people. Walker died at a ripe old age, but too bad wigmore died in a house fire or she would probably still be with us. You two are making me hungry! ;-)

I picked up Taco Bell for the family last night and that food looked so good... So I treated myself to a raw bar, a few raw olives, and a raw chocolate fruit smoothie to squelch my cravings. It worked. Definitely yummy. I went to bed with a good blood sugar and woke up with an ok bs of 150. But then an hour and half later it was 280! That is so crazy and frustrating! I took 2 units of insulin

You have planted the seed for more raw food eating in all your students. That is awesome! The gourmet raw food gets hard to digest after you have been eating raw and eating simply for awhile I have heard. I hope now that raw food classes are over you will start feeling better.

They say if we all ate only when we were really hungry, that would be the one thing that would improve everyone's health so much. I don't always do that though, I sometimes eat raw foods to squelch the cravings for a cooked food - not because I am hungry. Oh well, it is a phase we will get through. Norman Walker - one of my favorite health gurus and Matt Monarch said one of Walker's books was

Thanks, pam! The papaya was good. I think it is an acquired taste, because the first half was just okay and then the next day the second half tasted even better to me. I am starting to get cravings for some of my old favorite foods, but I will make it. I just got to remember how bad those foods made me feel. My blood sugars would go hi and stay hi and I would feel so grumpy and irritable and

I bet cutting out the nuts will help you feel better. I still eat a few nuts each day, but when I eat too many I don't feel good afterwards. Some people can handle the seeds - like pumpkin and sunflower seeds - when they can't handle the nuts. Well, I was taught (when earning my Naturopathic Certificate) that it was best to not eat breakfast. It allows your body more time to continue detoxing,

3 weeks raw today! Whoo-hoo! By now 1/2 of all my blood cells have been replaced with raw nutrients. So I just need to stick with it another 3 weeks to replace them all! My bs did that weird spike again in the morning. I woke up with 150 bs but then an hour later, without eating anything, it was 200 - so I took 1 unit of insulin. But after that it stayed level until a late lunch. I was thinkin

You are inspiring, thanks for sharing how raw food has helped you! I saw Matt Monarch talk in Charlotte in June and it was very inspirational for me also. I bought his book Raw Success and started back on raw soon after hearing him. He even told us that him and Angela are a romantic pair now. I wish I had heard Angela talk. She came to Asheville, four hours away, and I decided against. Maybe n

I think that lady would have gotten on my nerves! I mean she knows it is a raw food preparation class, right? So, shut up already about your dead bird and do that on your own at home. And whose class is it anyway? ;-) Just thought I would vent for you. You are doing great and are being very nice to your rude student. You are doing the right thing to just ignore her and let it wash over your

I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling depressed, tired, and agitated. I hope you figure out what works for you and start feeling better soon. Have you been able to find a colon hydrotherapist? Is you dad enjoying wheatgrass juice now?

My bs were very good on Sunday - 134, 78, 76, & 109. But then this morning, Monday, I woke up with 180 bs at 6:30am and my stomach didn't feel so great. My endocrinologist told me not to take insulin if I am not eating unless my bs is over 200. So, I didn't take any and went to the health care center at 8:30 am for some blood labs requested by my new GP. Before I left the house I decided

Welcome back! Here's hoping the raw diet clears up your heartburn and aching joints pretty soon! I know I have been feeling better and I have only been 3 weeks raw so far, this time.

An enema bag, that definitely works! Good for you. I admire you, must be tough - with the heat, baby, and no car. Are you moving to Canada in the near future?

Well this morning's bs was even worse - 300! But I am used to this happening for a few days after adjusting my 24 hour insulin down a unit. By Sunday, my morning bs should be back to normal (or back to the good numbers I have been experiencing on the raw food diet). Those bananas, peaches, and pluots were really good yesterday so I brought some more with me to work today. I wasn't hungry for

Good for you cricri, staying raw in the midst of the moving and everything. I agree when you say "Eating raw without cleansing the colon defeats its own purpose" Eating raw detoxes us so fast and if we don't get out all those accumulated toxins they just end up recirculating and set off cravings and make us feel awful. Did you go to a colon hydrotherapist or do you use a colema board

I know I get very irritable and on edge when my blood sugar is high. I just feel like I am going to explode! I also found the worst fruit in terms of raising my bs is watermelon. A chiropractor that does kinesiology figured out that I am hypersensitive to broccoli also. It was my favorite vegetable too! :-( So, I gave it up and I feel better not having it in my veggie juice or on my salad.

I am just good at researching and finding things. You're welcome. Are you going to make sprouted bread? Share your recipe! ;-) Yeah, I know what you mean about the prices. I finally splurged and bought a K-tec blender (kind of like a Vitamix only I like the K-tec better - it's a home version of the Blend-tec which you see at all the juicing places) and it was quite an investement! I do use

Flaxseeds sound like a good idea to me. Hope it works! Maybe you could sprinkle brewers yeast on your salads, if you like the taste. It has lots of B vitamins, right? A good place to start maybe to ask at your look health food store if they know of any colon hydrotherapists. I just recently found a new website called www.earthclinic.com when I was looking for acne cures for my son. So th

I woke up with a 191 bs this morning. It's probably because my body is adjusting to the new lower dose of 24 hour insulin. I am kind of bored with salads, so I brought fruit with me to work. Bananas, peaches, and pluots. We are going to a theatre production tonight. It's called 10 by 10 - 10 ten minute plays. I am dragging the reluctant teenagers along. Hopefully they will end up enjoying

pam, I googled for 'raw food' and constipation to see if could find anything helpful for you. I found these testimonials at and one guy said the nuts made him constipated. One website said a glass of hot milk with honey at night would cure constipation. But that's not raw food, except you can get raw honey and in some states you can get raw milk. Some other thoughts from my research

I forgot to reduce my 24 hour insulin by one unit last night, because I do it so automatically nowadays. So then I crashed again this morning with a low bs. I put a yellow sticky on my insulin pen case to remind myself tonight. I tried the lemon cucumber last night in my salad. It tasted good but not much different than a regular cucumber. Tonight is Taco Bell night for the family, which I

A raw food diet can be expensive, I agree. I think some people do well on the Hallelujah Diet where they eat raw all day except for some fairly healthy cooked food for their last meal of the day. Maybe that is kind of what you are doing right now with your 85% raw diet.
