Day 3 weight: 159 lbs Wasn't able to blog last night. Been really low on energy. Had to take a nap mid-day and then last night was in bed for seriously 12 hours. Not sure if I'm going through detox. I don't think I've eaten high enough raw for that. 3 Mile Jog Morning: 2 grapefruits that I blended because I never seem to chew these enough. Drank it slow. Afternoon: HUGE fugi apple. NA

DAY 2 Thanks for the encouragement peeps. That's an amazing accomplishment Prism. Eating a high percentage of raw is taking some getting used to. Although I felt like I had a steady amount of energy yesterday, today I was rather tired and even took a long nap. Some of my tiredness has to do with a big exam I had this morning, though. Having my exam to worry about, I wasn't prepared for today l

Thanks for the encouragement Jacks. I'm really trying to turn things around for myself at the moment and appreciate your comment. By "sticking to raw" I am trying to eat around 90 percent. I really don't know how to calculate the percent. Do you do it by volume? or servings? *shrugs* I guess 90 percent would mean that if I ate 10 things that day, and one was not-raw, that would be me

Gender: Female Age: 21 Height: 5'4'' Weight: 160 lbs I've decided to start a public log because telling myself that I will eat raw food isn't working. I'm in so much pain right now. It's more emotional pain, but physically things aren't looking pretty. For the last few years, I've gone up and down in weight and health. I don't exactly know my highest weight just because I avoided the sc

I feel the same way! Many times I have felt it easier to just reject all food

What helps keep you on your fast? What is the hardest thing for you while you're on a fast? What goes through your head? Do you avoid food? Do you keep it out of your mind or do you enjoy it vicariously in your mind? Are your cupboards and fridge empty? In a way, I almost think it helps if I have something there because then I feel like I'm fasting out of choice rather than I'm doing it

I was worried about losing muscle also. I've lost 7 lbs in 2 days. I'm on day 3. Not sure when to stop. I'm just drinking water. I wanted to get to day 4 because I heard that's the day that your body starts to feed off the REAL toxins, tumors, and fat. I'm not sure what to think about the 7 lbs I've already lost. Can I just say it's "water weight?" Anyone with experience with fasting

I also believe that to most people, eating raw isn't normal. NOT normal --> bad, wrong in some way. So you can say that raw foodist don't eat like the majority, which could be considered an eating disorder by some.

Bryan, I did in fact try to do some research before I made a post on here. I was confused by what I read. The people on this site really suprise me on how much they know. I was hoping that someone would give me a link to an awesome site that I didn't manage to stuble upon. I also wanted to hear the opinions of fellow raw foodists. By your last 2 posts, I got determined to find an answer out th

Typically I start RAW transitions with a short fast. I don't eat for a few days and usually may get a CHARLIE HORSE in my calf (ouch!). I used to think it was because I wasn't getting enough potassium with not eating before going raw (and throwing off my sodium/potassium pump). It's weird though. I am switching back to raw again, and I have that same feeling of cramping in my calves that I alw

I notice I'm congested (with dry boogers in my noise) when I take a nap after eating my bagel and CREAM BASED smear once I started eating mostly RAW again. I think that's proof enough. Milk is toxic. Mucus is a good way the body can expell of the toxin. Thanks for all the responses. I found them very interesting, especially that first link. Reading more about milk has really grossed me out.

Not raw, I liked to have about 9-10 hours of sleep, even with naps during the day. I got sugar highs and lows. My sleeping pattern was very all over the place. When transitioning from SAD to RAW, you have to give yourself time to adjust. I found that I actually needed MORE sleep when I switched to RAW. Last time I made the transition, it took me about 2 weeks of being tired to adjust to the li

I love fruit. They are so good and from what I've heard, they are good FOR you. But my friend likes to argue with me. All sugar in his book is BAD. I tried to tell him that the sugar in fruits is a different KIND of sugar (fructose). From what I've read, fructose takes longer to be broken down. It gets broken down to glucose in the body. The excess gets stored as glycogen for energy use: store

I told my friend that I don't like drinking milk because it gives me mucus. He looked at me like I was crazy. "What are you talking about?! I have never heard that milk gives you mucus." I researched it online and found that it has no scietific evidence and most claim it is a myth. BUT then why do I get all this mucus whenever I drink milk when I'm sick or when I am raw?! Dairy

All of your replies were great. I've tried to make use of a lot of the things said here. I guess I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone. As easy as people want to make dieting seem, messing with your food intake and kicking bad habits (and addictions) is so hard to do.

Speaking from experience: I went to a raw food seminar and ate 2 brownies with Mexican liquor added to them. I barfed 3 times that night/next morning. It sucked so bad. Be careful. Alcohol is toxic. And when you have a really clean system, toxins like that affect you WAY more than it would someone that is toxicating themselves on a daily basis.

I know this sounds dumb/sad, but I can't connect the bad effects of sweets (I'm talking about baked goods like cherry pie and cookies) in my mind before I shove those darn things down my throat! I've always been a major sucker for sugar. I'm addicted and often I don't feel my day is complete unless I end it with some sort of dessert. A lot of times, I feel I have to have a dessert with every m

Not sure if you are sick or detoxing BUT for some reassurance, I had a butt-load of mucus, pimples, headace, tiredness, etc. the first week I went raw. Your body is going through major changes. I felt like I was sick, but knew that I had to suffer a bit to get the junk out. By the end of the second week, I was better than ever. Keep up the healthy eating. No real harm can come from it. S
