the seeds and rind have tons of
good fats and balances out the sweetness of the flesh
i do believe it is the reason i thrive 7 months of the year
for how many years who knows
on about 90% watermelon
the other 10 % is only because i find so much
fruit laying under trees and all over bushes
they're like puls

123. Re: CHILL OUT!!!
3 reasons laV:
long ago i read in sunfood diet about eating all parts of the
watermelon: flesh, rind and seeds (so please don't buy the hybrid seedless)
making exact proportions of the macros fat-carb-pro
im fantasizing it goes for all melons
however, i've been oddly drawn to eating seeds and peels all my life
(not banana)
less waste
less mess!!!

i'll second phantoms suggestion of the hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash
to heal gum dental problems.
two months ago i had serious dental pain and dentist said i needed a root canal.
i asked her to put it on hold while i tried a few tricks.
after a month of swishing twice a day with the h.p. a new dental
xray showed no trace of infection in the gum.
last week my dentist checked again

i've been "half fasting" thanks to happyways suggestion
fasting between 8pm - noon, for 5 weeks
altho i still have a way to go with the healing
the deepest pain subsided
resting alot, self massage, ice, heat and gentle yoga
have also helped...along with mono, of course
is yours also the foot?

HAPPYWAY is right...*Whenever possible rest is recommended, when fasting for health reasons, so that the body can focus all it's energy on healing. *
this is of supreme importance, esp while undertaking a long fast.
specifically:
discontinuing work and activity
lying in bed with the eyes closed
avoiding all stress and excessive noise
some light stretching and reading ok for some

Lightform,
you are so right.
my first reaction was selfish watermelonobsessive fret
over even the scraps removed during the carving
now i see it perhaps is a sacred honoring of the fruit
higher than i've ever attained for sure
regardless, it is really quite a talent

you could eat that much and more if you wish
according to fitday.com my calorie intake for a 10 lb day is 916
11% fat, 76% carb and 13% protein
im somewhat of a high water content food ~ bulk eater
altho you may be more wired towards a more caloric dense menu of less quantity
with the same high quality
you may also find that all raw fruits and veggies will also clean you out

i know everyone is different
but just to give you a marker
i eat an average of 8-10 lbs produce per day
60% fruit 40% veg
im 5'6 105lb female
it does take awhile to tweak
til you find what works
but in general filling up on as much fruit as possible
will help stay focused
seriously youre doing great
in that you got right back on

kwan,
thank you so much for your heartfelt reply and hearing my questions
so deeply. they are questions i think about almost obsessively as a
member of a fruitarian community that enjoys eating alot of fruit
shipped hundreds and even thousands of miles away.
recently your posts about joining the community garden really made an
impression on me. it is something accessible to most america

i love freecycle... someone just came and took a big styrofoam fruit
box off my hands that a friend had given me full of oranges. that thing sat
on top of the fridge 2 months cuz i couldn't dela with it going to landfill.
they also took the leftover wood from when i converted a futon sofa into
a table.
i didn't even have to leave the house.

do you connect any of these disasters to global warming/climate change?
if so, do you believe we can have an effect on greenhouse gasses by
the food choices we make? ie buying locally grown fruit? a very unpopular
topic in this forum i have noticed.
also do you think the death of honey bees are related to climate change?
i heard today that at the current rate of honey bee deat

pampam,
a really easy dressing is to make your salad extra large
and then put about 1/4 of it in the blender with an orange
(peeled) or an apple.
coffee isnt an easy one. let yourself rest as much as your
life allows.

145. Re: Fasting...
as much as you are able, rest in bed with your eyes closed. best would be all day....except for some light stretching
dry brush massage your skin all over daily
scrape your tongue with the edge of an upside down spoon several times daily

ps the person who originated the "half fast" are you referring
to a woman named karen by any chance? that would be doubly synchronistic
if we are thinking of the same person. she is so obscure.

this is too phenomenally wild..that you send me that link.
since my foot healing challenge, i have been going thru old
cassettes copying to itunes what i want to keep, before donating
them all. yesterday the momentum came to a big pause when i began
listening to a set i bought over 12 years ago and can't remember
ever listening to.
