WY-- I reframed it slightly: 'Poison Arrow Syndrome.' What do you think? I think that definnes it a little better.

LaV-- >wishing him the best wishing you protection< Thank you! It's cool; Jonathan and I have a way of loving people and caring for them without getting drawn into their lives or having our energy drained. I'm come across as a bit of a bleeding heart, but I also screen my phone calls and know how to say 'no'. ;-p I think Jonathan taught me more about this skill than anyone I've ever k

Eaglefly-- I thought about it later, and felt I had not been entirely fair to my friend. I really care about him, and he's a wonderful person who struggles with the effects of a very abusive upbringing that severely traumatized him. He's worked on himself vailiantly, but still struggles with intense anxiety and stuttering, and if anyone deserves love, compassion and consideration, it's him. I don

Eaglefly-- I'm in Boston. Teleport yourself over here and we'll jam! Soraya-- Hey, let's open that store/gallery/retreat center together. ;-)

Jonathan and I were talking about a friend of mine who seems bent on self-destruction. This friend has diabetes, advanced heart disease, glaucoma, and a host of other afflictions, and I sent him the video about Gabriel Cousens' 30 day diabetes challenge. For a couple of weeks he was all fired up about it, and was ready to buy Cousens' book and go the distance with raw food. So I invited him over

My bucket list: Buy a soprano sax and become as proficient on it as I am on the flute. Bring together an innovative new music group together that I really love playing with, and get a lot of gigs locally and regionally. Oh! --- my favorite bucket list goal is to have my own local store/gallery where I can sell all the things I make-- art, art cards and posters, painted silk, painted t-s

Eaglefly-- Today (day 10) I'm still energetic, but I'm noticing some detox symptoms, I look like hell, and I feel a bit 'under the weather.' Sometimes fasting ain't pretty! So I'm taking it a little easy today and only went out to do errands rather than going to the gym and taking my usual long walk. I'm sitting here in my pajamas, sipping a kombumcha drink to help along the alkalization process

Lightform-- I just fast until I really feel like I've just gotta eat again, or until I really don't enjoy it (a good sign, unless I'm water fasting, which requires perseverence), or I quit because of circumstances like extreme cold or a heavy work load. La Veronique-- Ahhh, I wish I could say I was a great sax player. I didn't play it well back in the day, and I've tried to start it up again

Vinny-- The only thing I get high on these days is juice, and right now it's lemonade; today is my 9th day fasting on diluted lemonade and spring water. Beats the toxic stuff anyday!

My friend whom I played music with in the '70s just posted these ancient pictures of us on Facebook, from 1979. I didn't have any photos from that period, and hadn't seen these until now, so it was so much fun -- brought back a flood of memories. We were in an avant garde jazz group called Laughing Moon, and we had some wild and crazy adventures together. In the first pic we're doing a gig o

Hi Arrow, Thank you for the kind words and also for sharing your adoption story. I can SO relate to how you wondered about your background and noticed the differences between yourself and your adoptive family. I look quite a bit like my adoptive father, but I'm fair skinned and my adoptive mother has olive skin, and I always wondered what my background was. It was exciting to find out about my b

Thanks, LaVeronique! ;-) Gold and purple are extremely complementary colors; gold is sort of the polar opposite of purple in color theory, so you are right on target.

I'm SO grateful that I've come through a 'dry spell' of a couple of years where I couldn't seem to get with it and fast or detoxify, and now on only day 4 of a lemonade and water fast I'm feeling freakin' FANTASTIC and on top of the world!

Haven't read it, but it sounds interesting. I'm gong to look for him on google. Lately I've been paying more attention to how things were 'good' or 'bad' (it's all relative anyway) in other times and places-- how much government oppression existed, and in what forms, in other decades and cultures can shed a lot of light on our current situation.

Hmmmm... rethinking my update. What if my parents were Czechoslavikian but happened to give birth to my dad in Yugoslavia? Then I'd still be Czechoslavakian. For some reason he referred to himself as Czechoslavakian. Not losing any sleep over it! ;-p Either way, it's Eastern European, and that's good enough for me.

Update: Turns out my ethnic background is Yugoslavian, not Czechoslovakian, because my biological dad was born in Yugoslavia. He family only moved to Czechoslovakia a little later. No wonder I've always liked Balkan singing. :-)

I read recently somewhere that according to research that was done, frozen fruits and vegetables actually have a lot more nutritients (and presumably enzymes) than dried fruits and vegetables. Coco is right about enzymes, though: they aren't as big a deal as was previously thought.

If global warming messes up the atmosphere to the point that growing food becomes more of a problem, this may indeed be the wave of the future.

Tamukha-- You're absolutely right that he wasn't really Russian, but my cousin says 'depending on what he was drinking, he would either say he was Czechoslavakian or Russian.' Either something was lost in the translation and he was actually referring to being 'Russyn,' or he was a little provocative/confrontational and wanted people to think he was Russian. I'm told he was born in Yugloslavi

My newfound cousin tells me one of my biological dad's favorite exclamations was 'Carpuchka Russe!'-- which loosely translated was an affirmation of the fact that he was proud to be a Russian who grew up in the Carpathian mountain range. Mind you, this was during the McCarthy era, when Eastern European immigrants were given a suspicious and cold reception in the U.S., and were generally trying to

Thanks everybody. LaVeronique-- Yes!, it's unbelievably freakin' fantastic, and I love all the coincidences and parallels, whatever they mean. I do have a sneaking suspicion we have some sort of memory stored in our DNA about our parents, even if we were taken from them. It's so interesting, too, now that I have a clearer racial identity. Before I learned this information, I was happy wit

I think we're both in the same 'place', just experiencing and explaining it slightly differently. In fact I'm sure of it, because there's really only ONE experiencer, when you get right down to it. Yes, it's pretty profound!

Janabanana-- Sorry about the tone of my post above, where I'm afraid I come off too much like an opinionated hothead. I'm just really passionate about this and concerned that we may be passing up an important window of opportunity, but I respect your approach too. :-)

Janabanana-- I'm not dualistic enough to call the forces of big pharma/big agra, etc. 'evil.' That's an opinion that firmly roots us in complete opposition to them and will ultimately empower them. I believe it's also unrealistic magical thinking to assume that we must completely look away from what they're doing and just continue on our merry way, and all will be well. Yes, we must develop

Oh gosh, I love both of you, because you're both so totally earnest and thoughtful. ;-p I haven't figured out all the ramifications; I just go with what I know is right for me at this time in my life, and sometimes I have to 'vent' in certain situations. But I try to do it GRACE-fully, and somehow stay in the current of love, even if I sound like I'm temporarily bellowing at someone on the phone.
