I like to tear peices of nori or dulse and use it as a condiment. I have done so with Tekka also but it is a bit strong. Kombu is great for adding to broths and then either chopping fine or discarding. Not a lover of arame...texture thing.

I recently saw an integrative doc and he prescribed these things for me along with Vit A/E/Zinc. I've never been big on supplements and they are costly. I'd rather save my money for fruits and veggies. For those of you who are educated in this, do you feel daily green smoothies and lots of green salads are providing these things for me?

I'm definitely starting to shift to craving raw salads and smoothies and not desiring other things as much. It just seems that all of the dehydrated snack recipes are so time consuming and complex and expensive at that so in thinking about the kids, a batch of popcorn or healthier granolas seems easier and cheaper. Wanted to know if it is worth it.

Just trying to get perspective...what is the benefit of eating a raw treat made of nuts, chocolate, etc...rather than a treat made of roasted nuts, nut butter, granolas, etc...?

My husband would be very much interested in the more "cheeky" suggestions! Yes, a dehydrator would be wonderful, but first a v mix. Maybe in a couple of months And you are right about planning. It can make or break a day. Thank you for the encouragement I am very proud of the fact that I am off sugar and eating the raw foods that I am. It's good to reflect on that. I am very opt

Well, I am definitely refining my diet. Still craving crackers or pretzels but it's emotional cravings and something I need to find a replacement for. As coco said getting away from the t.v. in the evening will help. I don't watch much t.v. except after my kids go to bed I love to have a glass of wine and watch HGTV or Burn Notice with my husband. Anyhoo, my aughter has had a fever, some vi

Hmm, I'll have to look for those dried berries. The area that I live in is very bad for resources like that. I will say, I am a sugar addict and I stopped eating it a month ago and am having no cravings at all. I attribute this to my intake of fruit, namely my green smoothies. It is awesome!

109. evening
Hey there So, I am one month in and have been eating cooked foods in the evening. I would like to work this month on cleaning up my evening meal which usually consists of pasta or rice and steamed or stirfried veggies, some beans or tofu, and a salad. For those of you who eat a raw dinner, what do you like to have?

I've been coming to this community frequently lately. It is quite kind and informative. It is the very best raw forum I have found. I have had a lot of my questions answered and I find very reasonable advice. I like that a lot! I was getting very overwhelmed by the divided schools of thought and the push to purchase superfoods, but not this one, or that one.... I'm going to just blog a bit h

Not really, and I don't want to be too dramatic about this. I just feel puffy and swollen, and frankly fat! Its been a month, I am feeling so much better and now I want to feel skinny!

I have a green smoothie throughout the day and a couple pieces of fruit and a salad with a pasta or rice and veggie dish for dinner. I have been snacking on pretzels or popcorn in the eve but don't think it's so much salt that it is causing the prob. Maybe I'm wrong?

I seem to be retaining fluid. My rings are a bit tight and I feel bloated. Is this a common problem among raw foodies? It's been a month of about 80%. Is there a recommendation for something that will flush me out?

All of these posts are encouraging I struggle with severe brain fog. Three things have enabled me to be almost "fog free" for a couple of weeks now: The first I would never recommend as it must be done under a doctor's care...I weaned off of an anti depressant that I was on for 3 years. I stopped eating sugar. I began paying closer attention to my combinations and volume of food. I

I kind of love this idea. It seems so simple for the body...at least for awhile while healing. There is a cleanse program in Martha's Vineyard that uses this method for 21 days. They highly suggest colonics during this period.

Hi My plan is to make a large green smoothie in the morning and have half then and the rest throughout the day as I feel hungry. I also snack on grapes, a babana or an orange throughout the day if needed. My dinner plan at this point includes a raw salad of greens and veggies or massaged kale with a little olive oil and lemon juice or balsamic vinegar and fresh garlic. I have a light cooked d

several of my family members did a stint on zeolite and had absolutely no results, good or bad. Parsely is reportedly a good thing to add to smoothies to pull metals out.
