Good morning-- I feel fine. I think my body was doing a little blood work yesterday evening. During day I had gashed my knuckle on this old metal completely rusted gardening tool. I didn't think anything of it, it got filled with dirt, and when I watered I just washed it. So in the evening when I got in bed so awfully tired I noticed my arm was a little blotchy and there seemed to be a thi

Also, Shawna---yes, I've had a sort of ocular weakness when in a strong detox mode. I sort of feel like that now, very tired, weak, and the muscle weakness. My eyes don't want to stay open. I read that when the body is working on cleansing, most energy is directed to this and is inside with the organs...energy is pulled from muscles and we feel weak. I feel like that now. My body is givi

Hello everyone--- Today I started out with some grapes, and a fantastic cherimoya. Throughout morning, I had also a banana, 2 oranges juiced. About 1:30 I had quite a salad: red leaf (garden), baby spinach, 1/4 tomato, tiny turnip (garden) grated, tbsps grated beet (garden), 1/2 crookneck squash (garden), 3 kalamata olives, a few walnuts. It was really good. I liked the squash very much,

For some reason, I am whacked out tired, drained. I feel my energy slipping away. Maybe it is going again to the interior of my body. I feel like a sawdust doll. Let's see. After the oranges.....oh I lay down for a short time, didn't fall asleep. Took walk with doggie. Just got back and opened the maradol papaya, which I didn't like. Perhaps over ripe. So, I sniffed and sniffed at th

Thanks, Angel! Yes, I understand about the work. We'll get together soon. Worked more in the yard for a couple hours or so. Came in and ate 6 valencia oranges. Perfectly hit the spot! Harvested some lettuces, cleaned, munched during. The reason some are surviving is because there isn't much sun. It was out today for a cameo performance. Short, dramatic, entertaining. Oh, on cue,

Woke up after 8 hours of sleep, went to bed late though, after chasing EA down through her posting online and making phone calls and finally we got connected! I watched a good movie last night, enjoyed it very much, "Proof" with G. Paltrow. She did a very good job acting. Really right on beautiful performance. I've been up almost 5 hours. I have eaten a banana, had a glass of 2

Hi again Mona....some of these things ---like the nuts, only eating a few---are ideals and not necessarily to be imposed on ourselves in the beginning. Most of us in the beginning are not able to eat like someone who has been raw a long time. Most of the long time rawfooders ate just like everyone else did in the beginning transition. If you have to eat a lot of nuts, I'm sure this will natura

Meow--so sorry to hear about that awful exprience. I hate to see animals in the street. That is a hard thing. And then, the car bump...at least you weren't hurt. The only scar is a stupid samich. It is so understandable, what a strong trigger THAT was. You are amazing in that you just had the samich...If I had done that I probably would've gone stark raving mad and continued with worse stu

Hi! So, listen to your body---your list sounds good! (maybe cool it on the garlic). I believe that is what we should eat...lots of fruit (including bell peppers and tomatoes and such fruits), some greens like lettuces and celery, and some seeds and some nuts. I wouldn't worry about nutrients. When you eat non-raw, did you worry about nutrients so much? The way NOT to worry about nutrient

From what I've read in many sources, cooked food is recognised by the body as toxic. The heat had altered the food to such a degree as to mess up the amino acids (there is a better way to say that but I can't remember it, de-aminize or something ), kill the enzymes, and carmelize the sugars, and whatever else, rendering the food toxic. It is no longer food, and sometimes was never our food to b

Hi again, Inaia--- Best wishes on your new committment! You know, I was thinking that MAYBE, just maybe----since you've been high raw for awhile (haven't you?) that your congestion is your body signaling to you that you are doing a good job, you've been increasing your health level, but now it wants you to take it to another level to allow the elimination of this congestion. Since it

I continued to eat fruit, had some more cherries and now they are gone. Another banana snack later. Around 5:30 I had a plate of baby spinach, a whole tomato, 1/4 red pepper, and several kalamata olives. Then I got some gas, and a bit of a cramped abdomen and then a very substantial BM. That was terrific... I was surprised...I never "go" in the evening like that, and this wa

That's really great your husband agreed to try raw for 30 days...best wishes to you both. I've heard so many accounts of asthma and allergies being resolved on a raw food diet. One of Boutenko's children, the girl I believe, had bad asthma and soon after turning raw started sleeping through the night, and soon didn't even need the inhaler anymore. Very good! I hope he sticks with it f

Hi Inaia-- I don't really feel qualified to speak much from personal experience, although I will say that I do best at 100% even in transition, which I've done a few times...hence my hesitation to speak much. But I have read so many accounts of there being a large difference --- positive, of course. Physically, emotionally, mentally, etceterally. One account which I re-read recently w

Here I am again...sure is nice having use of computer. When my housemate comes back, I will still be able to use computer...just not as often as I do now. I sure wish I had a computer of my own. A couple years ago when I moved, someone stole my computer out of the truck it was packed in. The driver went back into the house for too long...I don't think I'll ever get another one. Well, we'll s

Hi there! I saw your new pics...you're doing really well. I like reading that thread. Keep up the good work. I'm doing well, too. Slowly and surely. I read your journal---I wish you would post more! Sorry to hear about the delay in the education thing, maybe it is for the best...for some reason. Time will tell. Just keep working on yourself and your health and being as positi

I went to sleep at 11:00 but slept 9 hours. I blew my nose frequently for the first couple hours this morning. I lost another pound, weigh 173. That makes a 13 pound loss. I sure feel the difference. I feel very relaxed. What I am beginning to think about is letting go of the coffee. Sometime soon. That is something I can do. Soonish. The frequent meals or snacking seem to be nece

ooooops, didn't fast today, Starfruit! Apple juice, and ate a small apple. small simple salad. Just lettuce and baby spinach. (all I had) Went shopping after that! Spent 100.00. Oh, omg. I should've gone to Henry's, Earthangel. Yup. I'm going to try to get over there from now on. Came home and ate the container of blueberries! I'd been craving them! Also ate a whole lot of

Yes, Khale, I agree with everyone else, that was a lovely post. Yes, we are on a path of transformation. This "mere food" thing is multi-dimensional multi-faceted. That's why I like the word 'perseverence' and it is also why I need support. Let's see, what did I eat? Apple juice first thing. Then, ate a small apple. Soon followed by a small very simple salad. (lettuce &am

Hi Starfruit lady, Sweet list! I am so glad your dad is visiting, you sound so happy. How cool is that, he is into real food, too! That is so nice. You two have a wonderful time together. Sounds like you have a real good relationship with him. Keep on keepin' on, you're doing great. I'm always hoping the best for you. I really don't even know you, but for some reason, I have such

Ah, finally.......I made it. Now for 3 days off. Whewwww! (I'm not used to working 5 days in a row. And, get this, my little dog actually growled at me a little bit the last 2 days when I said good bye...good grief! I was so surprised...just this little bitty growl, but a growl nevertheless. I told her No, but that was her expression of anger and sadness because I was leaving her again for
