This use to happen to me all the time...well I guess it still happens to me sometimes. It was several things that caused them to swell for me - cat hair, chemicals, and mold. Well good luck with finding it out

Awesome River!!!! And man I love the enthusiasm, too I thought that you could maybe add fresh beet juice to your green smoothies because it makes it a beautiful ruby color - this may help you in getting your son to try it Also, I have found that adding pineapple into green smoothies takes away the strong green taste - my niece loves gs when pineapple is added. And best of luck

Okay my sister (been 100% raw for a week) asked me to ask you all this question. Whenever she started eating more raw, food caked on her teeth. I realized the same thing with going raw and my mom who is transitioning also realizes it. If they eat the junk food then it doesnt happen. We all brush our teeth constantly but it is as if raw foods stick or adheres to the teeth - kind of weird.

Hello everyone A family friend has been ill for a while and it has gotten really really bad this last month. She had to leave college and go back home. This last week she was doing so bad the family thought they were going to loose her. They have been to doctor after doctor and it seems as if no one can help her. They know she has Candida, so she eats no sugar. Her mom started researching

My right tonsil has been swollen for about a week now. The weird thing is that I am not sick - no cold or sore throat. I thought it might of been the almonds that I ate last week because when i stopped eating them it seemed to start going down but it is swollen even worse now and i cut almonds out. The only thing that I have done different this past week is that I have binged a few time ( bored)

I am not a bodybuilder but I am a collegiate soccer player. When I first went 100% raw about 6 or 7 months ago I lost a lot of muscle. It was very hard to keep up with training. I even used the hemp protein powder which helped kind of. I stopped taking that though and just tried to give my body the rest and time it needed to heal. I know it still needs time to heal but I am back into training

how do you make almond butter with a champion juicer? I have been wanting to make some for a while now and did not think of using my champion juicer, just assumed one needed a good blender.

this is interesting. When I went to Hawaii several years ago, i was told by a worker at the Dole plantation something completely different. They told my family that the eyeballs should be the same size all the way around the pineapple and the color did not matter. Also they said if it had a strong pineapple smell then it is overripe. I am going to have to try your all suggestions ;-)

Hey Lightform! I am going to have to check out those interviews. I have done so much research but it is so amazing how much information there is to learn. That is a great idea of loaning them to friends, I think I am going to have to do that eventually. I just cannot imagine the results in a few years - it seems as if every month my health is improving significantly. Like you were saying, i tru

Being passionate is a key I think. If somebody would of told me a year ago that I would be eating the way I do now, I would of laughed. No way could I have

Lee thanks for your input, it was quite helpful. Sadly none of my fruit is organic it is what they have at the college cafe...can't really afford anything else...but luckily my college does carry fresh fruit all day now The fast went really good - tweaked it a little throughout, though. I did lemon water from Fri 4Pm to Sat 6PM. Carrot juice and lemon water Sat 6PM to Sun 1PM. And then I on

I know eating spinach and spirulina really helps me with my cravings for heavier food. I'm thinking it is probably the iron in them. If I do not have my salad with spinach and spirulina water daily then I gorge on fruit which does not make me feel good at all and the cravings are still there. Good luck to you ;-)

Thursday of last week I started a Parasite Cleanse. I felt completely terrible on it, which I know it is a cleanse which is never so pleasant but something so did not feel right. Monday I realized that the cleanse had cayenne (I am allergic to) in it, so I stopped it immediately. For a couple weeks before the cleanse I finally was digesting without problems - it was so nice Well ever since

I have always had a problem with acne. My face broke out even worse when I went 100% raw, too. I was so scared of scaring. I have found a few things that help: - Drinking carrot juice - The Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) like three times a week. I use castor oil and sesame seed oil - i want to get some jojoba oil instead of sesame (I heard its better) but have not gotten a chance yet. You can find

I love seeds and I feel so much better eating them...actually I am eating some sunflower seeds right now - yummy I was eating them soaked before but have not had much time to soak them lately. I have read a lot about how it is not good to eat seeds and nuts not soaked...and that if they are soaked then the skin needs to be taken off which takes forever - is this true? Would love to hear how lo

Apples use to give me a really hard time, too. But I continued eating a whole bunch of apples (whats available here at college especially since i cant eat bananas or oranges) and found out a few things. Some apples are worse than others like i cannot eat more than one fuji at a time. On the other hand I tend to do really good with golden delicious and granny smith. So maybe it is something to d

I use to eat tomatoes like they were going out of style...I absolutely loved them. Well, then I read about the nightshade family and decided to cut them out of my diet for like a month. It is so weird I cannot even eat them now....they taste so nasty and somewhat toxic to me. I thought that maybe I was getting bad tomatoes so I had my sister try part of the tomato and she said it tasted great.

My parents did not teach me and my siblings that Santa was real. We read the Santa stories and watched the Santa movies all for fun...it was no different than any other fictional character. I do not feel like I was deprived at all as a child. It made me appreciate and respect my parents even more. Also, it put more of a focus on the real meaning of x-mas, instead on the commercial side. I d

Hello Everyone, I am currently planning on transferring colleges. Well, while I was searching for colleges with good Architecture programs, I thought that I should give my raw lifestyle a consideration. Currently where I am studying, it is very difficult for me to get a good selection of fresh produce (really no local stands) and the closest health food store (no produce really) is 45 minutes

I love oranges but dont eat them a lot because they tend not to settle too well Well, I got sick this week and I have been craving oranges like crazy - they are basically the only thing I have eaten the past few days. I am thinking that my body needed the high vitamin C content. Yeah but oranges are pretty amazing :-)

well i thought about trying grains but i though that most of them have gluten (can't have) and are inflammatory foods (I had an inflammation problem before going raw so I try to avoid all inflammatory foods)...I will definately research it ...I did start eating sweet potatoes which seem to last me longer than other food. THanks once again for the advice ;-)

I finally got to use those nutritional calculators, today, and man they helped so much. Before I was trying to calculate everything by hand and because it took up so much time I just gave up on it. It is so easy with these calculators and they really help me to see when my diet is not nutritionally sound. I really believe this is going to help me adjust my diet so that I am getting all of my n

Just a little confused with the whole calorie thing and going raw It is to my understanding that you can have a eating disorder and feel completely satisfied and not hungary. Your body will get use to the low calorie intake and after a while really will not know anything better. I've heard raw foodist talk about not needing to eat as many calories the longer they are raw due to the body ge
