I have heard women friends talk about menopausal food cravings before and hadn't thought much about it, as I hadn't experienced such a thing. Now, however, I am going through menopause and I am experiencing the most overpowering food cravings I have ever had. To make it worse, the cravings are for things I don't usually eat - animal foods, sugar, etc. Are there any tricks to overcome this?? Pl

I know these are good for liver cleansing, but how do you use them exactly? Can you grind raw seeds and mix with water? Are they too bitter for smoothies? Help!

I am curious to know how many of you partake? Of those who are ill, do you find this has helped in any way? AND . . . what is the difference between fermented veggies and vinegar? Several years ago, I fasted at the Rest of Your Life retreat in Barksdale, TX under the supervisison of Drs. Gregg and Tosca Haag (Virginia Vetrano's daughter). One of the last things they said to me, as I was leaving,

Hi everybody. I am really disappointed in the raw food cookbooks I have seen so far. Most are complicated, use too many spices/herbs, etc. Any suggestions on good, plain, simple and well-combined recipes??

I'm reading a lot about how toxic it is. If raw, is it still toxic, moldy, fungal, etc.?

Would like to know everyone's opinion on this. If you believe it is acid-forming, why? If not, same question. Thanks everybody.

Have any of you read this book? If so, I would love to hear some opinions. I am disappointed that this author and Gabriel Cousens, as well, recommend the no fruit thing. Just when I think I'm eating healthy and doing well, somebody else wants to nix the foods I love, like fruit! I have to say the book makes sense though and the guy's research seems pretty thorough.

Piano Gal, too many people seem to be highly sensitive to the DMPS. I had a few consultations wiith Dr. Huggins, the mercury guru, who told me not to touch the stuff and, if I did, he wanted to take a life insurance policy out on me first - ha! Not so funny really. Anyway, after talking to him, I connected with 2 people who had ended up in the hospital from it and had been quite ill. As sensitive

You know, Cherie, I could be wrong but much of what you talk about is so indicative of heavy metal toxicity. This is something I am personally going through, so I have made myself well versed on the subject. Have you ever had vaccinations, flu shots, amalgam silver fillings, eaten fish (especially tuna), and/or lived/worked near a coal burning plant? To rule heavy metals out, you may want to con

Hi everybody. My 21 year old niece recently found out that she had a tumor on her ovary. Doctors did an exploratory surgery, drained the benign tumor and found a bad case of endometriosis. Because she is so young, and still would like to have kids, they were conservative, thank goodness. They are now sending her to a specialist for treatment (not sure what that will be), and her mom has been r

I have had rheumatoid for 22 years. Unfortunately, but fortunately at the same time, I did not discover the raw food diet until about 10 years ago. It was the first real relief I found. The more raw the better. Eliminating animal and processed foods was huge.

What is the reasoning for diluting vegetable juices? Is it just so you won't detox too fast and feel sick?

Anyone think these types of colon cleansers are bad for you? AND, do you honestly think this type of supplement can get rid of your bad bugs without using a parasite killer as well?

As I stated in my first post, I read this in one of Dr. Hal Huggins books about metal detox. I found it out for myself when I started my heavy metal detox. I cannot eat any fruits or the metal will not come out, no matter what I am taking to get it out. Spices/herbs also hold up the metal for me. Now, some of this may be my own weird body, but Hal Huggins is a so called expert on this and the fa

Thanks Mike, but that's not exactly what I was asking. I want to know why fruits hold up heavy metals in the body and will not allow the body to eliminate them. Even if I was taking zeolite, chelation therapy or whatever, if I am eating fruit, I will NOT eliminate the metal. It just seems kind of weird to me.

Does anyone know the reason why fruits in the diet do not work for eliminating heavy metals? I read about it in Dr. Huggins book, and discovered for myself he is oh so right. BUT, there was no explanation. I think it must have to do with the sugar??

So sorry Rosemary, but remember there are foods that HUGELY affect the thyroid in a negative manner. You mentioned 2 of them, broccoli and spinach. Also cabbage, cauliflower, soy, walnuts, almonds, peanuts, pine nuts, collards, kale. Avoid them like the plague, as they will really mess you up and contribute to any thyroid issues. Good luck Rosemary.

I read a post further down which made me think too many fruits are acid forming. I have always read before they are alkaline. I also read "The Primal Diet" a ways back and that author stated that too many fruits made his teeth and bones suffer. What's the real story?

Hi everyone. I am trying to dig down deep right now to find my motivation and get my mojo back. When I first started doing the raw thing many years ago, I was excited, inspired, loving all of the info and reading there is about it. However, after all this time, I am still so sick and the food cravings lately are so overwhelming. Where does that inspiration and motivation come from to keep going

Many of us, as we detoxify, experience constipation as the toxins come out. Lots of water, as Luna points out, is important. I have also found colonics, ground flax seeds in water, and Oxy Powder (oxypowder.com) helpful. There are differing opinions on using any kind of intervention, but I believe you do what works for your own experience. I've had to do alot of experimentation on my own body an

I have read a couple of recent posts on this board regarding kombucha tea and how healthy it is. I was intrigued and bought a bottled variety at Whole Foods today to try it out before thinking about making my own. I opened the stuff and poured some out - looks, tastes and smells identical to vinegar. Can someone please tell me what the difference is? I was told several years ago by my Hygenic

I am concerned that the sea salt contains heavy metals. I imagine that the early primitive cultures who consumed salt did not have to worry about heavy metals in their salt. Now, however, it is a great concern. For whatever reason, it is difficult for my body to hold on to it's water and I find, no matter how much I drink, I am usually on the dehydrated side. I was hoping salt might help with th
