That brings back memories of my top-and-bottom jaw surgeries to correct my overbite while I was in braces. Since both jaws were involved, no chewing whatsoever was allowed. I had a blender that I used to puree EVERYTHING. At that time, I wasn't full raw, so I pureed vegetarian chilies, soups, mashed up potatoes thoroughly, made up fruit smoothies with celery and lettuce added in, etc. I had

Okundeji, After I read your initial post, I had to go away to another tab. It was too emotionally charged to do anything further after reading your post. It is several hours later that I'm replying. I'm going to TRY to reply in one session, otherwise I may have to try a couple of times. I know it sucks. I'm the only one who is vegan (and it doesn't help that I'm deaf as well). I have t

The other thing I forgot is that my feet would swell in the evening, and then go back to normal by morning. Like I said, the tingling, cramping, and the swelling is gone. It hasn't happened for three weeks. Stephanie

I'm trying to figure out what's going on. I've had to make some changes to try to find out what's going on. I found out by accident that when I don't eat bananas or watermelons, I don't get the tingling sensation in my feet when I'm bent over at the waist or standing straight up while looking straight down at my feet. I tilt my head up level and the feeling goes away. I notice that my feet cr

I hve not been sick since last October, the time when I strove to get refined oils out of my dietary. It's the first time I've gone through a year without getting sick with the cold or a fever. You might want to get ALL refined oils (cooking oils and oils found in snacks and premade foods) out of your system to see if that's a culprit for me. Stephanie

What is going on with the taste of celery sold in this part of the country (Texas)?!? I haven't found the salty celery except on rare occasions in the last ten years. What's going on? I think someone may have hit it on the head when it was mentioned that something was used to bind the iodine to the salt. Is iodine a nutrient that is not being found in sufficient amounts in our food? Thus

I am completely solitary as well (in person). It made me realize about a year ago that I have no living example before me who has gone raw for extended periods of time, and it makes me wonder what our potential is. Maybe we're near our potential, maybe we're nowhere near our potential, I don't know. Stephanie

Ah, Pandora's box... I sometimes wonder whether it's possible to destroy that box so that you can go back to the way things are supposed to be, instead of how it is with dead foods. It takes a lot of work to get out of this spot once you have experienced something like cooked foods. I also believe that we need companionship and examples of what it's like to be 80 and rocking the house on y

Indeed a lot of effort goes into growing the food we buy on a regular basis, but sometimes, I have to ask myself, "Is it worth it at all when there's no other vegan/raw people to share this with? No one else to love?" I feel just as rare as the vampires in Forever Knight, Moonlight, Blood Ties, and now The Vampire Diaries. Just like Mick in Moonlight, I tell people "I'm vegan, s

I would like to get some comments on experiences with raw food and cold weather. I'm mainly talking about those of you who live raw, and it's mainly limited to sweet fruit, some veggies like tomatoes, cukes, lettuce celery, etc., and a small amount of nuts. What has your experience been IF you had been sensitive to cold before, and now you're eating raw food as described? I noticed just drop

It's a helluva raw deal (pun intended)... All my family live deep in the bowels of the ruins of human knowledge, in the dead of night. I'm already starting to think about who I can meet with over the holidays and make up excuses as to why I can't meet with my death-dealing circles (I can't make it down, I have to work the day after; I'll be going out of town to see my family this year; etc.).
