The best water to drink is spring water. I avoid drinking tap water because of the chlorine content. Reverse osmosis and distilled water should also be avoided, but the best way to understand this is to understand the chemistry behind water. Consider type 1 water, which is an ultra pure water. It's so pure that it's actually measured by electrical resistance as opposed to parts per million. Type

They seem to be popping up at a much higher rate than I have ever seen before. Does anyone here go to raw restaurants? How do you like them?

Gotu kola is a good natural source of B vitamins. You can get wildcrafted and organic gotu kola herb and mix it into smoothies or add it to food.

I usually get all my produce from a local farmers market because it's more nutritious. Hardly anything is picked ripe anymore. When you pick produce green for shipping long distances, the plant has not had sufficient time to develop its full phytochemical and mineral content. Since produce is not being shipped long distances for farmer's markets, the produce can be picked riper when they have mor

That's great that you want to get a dehydrator. When I was new to raw foods, I didn't have one. If you're ready to get one, then I would recommend an Excalibur. It's a great investment and well worth it.

You have to remember that this yucky feeling is only temporary. On the other side is success. Do you want to succeed or fail? Maybe if you look at it like that it can give you the motivation you need. Try more power smoothies like others have suggested and eat more raw snacks to keep your mind off of it.

You should really speak up about this in your community. Have you considering bringing the issue up at a town meeting or something similar? Just making a call might not be enough. You could organize others from your community as well.

The best way to deal with candida overgrowth is to restore the flora. To do that you need probiotics (preferably water kefir), and prebiotics. And you also need to restore full stomach acid, because stomach acid kills yeast, and stomach acid does decline with age. Candida likes an alkaline environment, so you can use zinc mainly to keep your stomach acid at an optimal level. Using digestive bitte

Rosehips are actually the best source for vitamin c! You could definitely add some to green smoothies. Start small and see how you like it.

I have always heard and seen these different cleansing/detox things but I never felt the need to use one. If there's something in particular that could be helpful, I would consider trying it.

You can use different ones. I like extra virgin olive oil, flaxseed, and hempseed. I'm not a big fan of the taste of coconut oil with foods.

I think that I prepare my meals and organize them ahead of time in a very reasonable amount of time. But I always read that it's so hard to prepare raw food meals and the diet is too consuming. To me, that's not true at all.

This all goes along with my philosophy that everyone's body is a little different and we need to each find what we personally feel best eating. But our options should always be from vegan and raw sources. Those food sources can supply such a variety of preferences that everyone should be able to find what works best for them.

Everyone is a little different physically, and have had different habits of eating (some really bad), so experiencing detox type effects seems totally normal to me. The same goes the other way. If you are a raw foodist for a while, and eat a cooked meal, it could make you sick.

I have good quality access to everything I need, but have always wondered how difficult it would be for others who live in different areas. I think there's always a way to live a great raw food lifestyle, so you may need to make some changes to get what you need.

Raw foods in cans like something that you would get at stores? Sounds processed. Not sure if that's a good idea...

Yeah, it can be hard to have unhealthy eating surrounding you. I know what you mean. I try to tell them how they can eat healthier and try to motivate them at least. But a lot of the time they seem to continue their ways. I stay hopeful that more people will learn the benefits of eating right.
