I am the resident manager at a self storage facility. I like it because of the short commute to work! I also love people, and with this job I get lots of time with people.... most of my customers have been here for years. In fact, I have lots of customers that have been renting here since the place was built in the 80s! I think it's nuts to spend that much money storing STUFF.... but busines

I have the same problem... I'm currently on high blood pressure medicine, but watching it closely and hoping to go off the medicine as I get back on raw. (I fell off the wagon for a few months and ended up in ICU from the SAD diet.) My sister uses garlic, cayenne, and pommegranite to lower her blood pressure, so I am doing the same. Just bought the peppers and am going to dehydrate them and ma

Last year I was doing some research on the website for Bastyr University and came across a place with an article of the benefits of raw potatoes for Diabetics. The bad thing was that I couldn't read the article, because you had to be a member to do so! I didn't see how to join, so I gave up. But I had been interested in the article for two reasons... 1) I am a diabetic, not controlled well and

if you're having breathing problems, like bronchitis, ephedra works really well for bronchitis and asthma. Part of the plant was banned by the government a few years back, then the ban was lifted, and I'm not sure where things stand now. But the other part of the plant was not banned, and it's in use for asthma and bronchitis.... my husband had bronchitis so bad he would cough until he passed ou

I have been pureeing tomatoes or cucumber in the blender and adding a salad dressing mix.... that way I get the flavor without the fat. But I am sure the mixing have all sorts of bad for me stuff, so I've been wanting a recipe for homemade ranch dressing. Then I will simply substitute my pureed veggies for their mayonaise and milk. I just don't know what spices to use! Anybody have an idea

I got my first dehydrator from Fred Meyers for only $42 bucks. It worked. It was one of those round donut style, and they hold less food, and also you can only dehydrate one item at a time, because it blows down on the food and would mix flavors. But hey, for $42 bucks, it got a lot of use, and was successful in dehydrating everything I put in it. I recently upgrated to an excalibur, which I'

My daughter has fought depression for years. A few months back it had become really bad.... she was "ear witness" to a murder, and it really pushed her into deep depression, to the point where she was becoming suicidal. She talked to a friend who told her about Emotional Freedom Techniques. (EFT) Here's a basic description of how it works: Your body is wired electronically. When the

Well, I'm in Washington and dying to get out of here! Rain, rain and more rain! Of course, the other side of the state has more sunshine.... I live in the Puget Sound area. Washington State is lovely, but if you come here, be prepared to pay a price for the beauty. Our rainy, grey cloudy days are much more frequent than our sunny days. I question how happy I would be living away from my chi

Wheat grass is not a problem if you are avoiding gluten. Gleten is in the wheat kernel, not in the grass. Also, a raw diet was beneficial to my diabetes.... I easily lost weight, without even trying, and my blood sugars went down. I've found that if I eat raw, I can eat whatever I want. I was raw for about 8 months, then lost it while preparing for my daughter's wedding. I totally fell

Thanks. I'm much better now. I really don't just skip eating, because I'm on insulin. Last time I got the flu, I ended up in ICU because it just sends my blood sugars all out of whack. I have to eat because I have to take insulin. If I don't take insulin, big trouble. I end up in the hospital hooked up to IVs and stuff. Not good. Pre-raw, I would push the juices and popcicles and stuff

The flu has been rampant around this place, and going through my family like wildfire. I was sick for about 10 days. My question is, what do you eat when you are sick? I found myself eating dead foods, which really put me in a cycle, because dead foods don't make me feel so good in the first place. But some of them are much gnetler on the tummy when you're sick. So what do you eat when y

I tried Phase 1 and couldn't handle it... I was HUNGRY all the time and it got so bad I would eat just about anything just to stop being hungry. I ate sandwiches with meat and cheese.... and I am allergic to wheat and dairy and I don't eat meat... but I was so hungry, I would just break down and do to the deli next to my work and buy a sandwich. Then I started to be more and more tired as I ate

Great ideas! I'm going to look into a place to do some water exercise. I did that years ago when I was in college and I remember it does give you a workout while beign gentle on your body. I like the idea of the treadmill and also dancing... they are not something I can dive right into just yet... I have so much diabetic nerve damage to my legs, I have very little feeling beneath my knees...

Yeah, I was taking baby aspirin as well... but I had 3 TIAs (mini strokes) and a heart attack, and I'm only 53. Tell your friend that the only one that will really help is the pharmesuetical company that makes the baby aspirin. Because they have found that baby aspirin can help, but it's a hit or miss thing, it helps some, not others. However, making lifestyle changes... eating healthy, h

thanks for posting that, willow... I suspected that eating raw had made a difference, because even when my son was sober, he was never without cigarettes... and for him to go 6 days without smoking was incredible. I thought the raw diet was what helped, now after reading yoru post, I'm convinced of it! KathyT

I am a wimp. Well, actually just years of being ill has wasted my muscles. I want to build them up again. Does anyone know an exercise program that will start VERY gently and help me build up? I bought a rebounder with the little bar that I could hold on to... wow, I can't make it 2 minutes through that exercise. I want to build up to it-- rebounding has great health benefits. But first

I watched Storm and Jinjie's movie "Breakthrough" which is a documentary about their raw family. In it Storm emphasized over and over that raw vegans MUST exercise or they will be come thin. Exercise bulks up the muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat. So a raw vegan isn't going to become fat, but they would still look better, not like they are starving. I'm starting my exercis

I just bumbed my story up so alexican can find it. I have found great success so far... as far as I am concerned I've just begun my journey... 4 months raw, a lifetime to go... and I will be getting healthier every day. One thing I didn't mention in my story... shortly before I went raw, I had found a lump in one breast. I have no medical insurance, so I didn't go to a doctor and I am not

HAHA, this thread reminds me of when I was shopping online for mine... I read about the saladucco at a website where people posted their reviews... and this woman was ranting about how she had wanting to get the Benriner spirilizer, but when it came it was the same old saladucco that she had bought once before, and it broke so easy. She called the store she had ordered it from, and the man there

You're looking good, Taylor! Have you gone shopping yet? I know I haven't lost as much as you, but still, most of those clothes just had to go! One of my friends came over while I was working... I'm a resident manager... and she saw me with my baggy pants... the pair that used to be my absolute favorite... and after looking at me for a while, she finally said. "I just can't stand it a
