Looking forward to seeing you all there Now for the difficult part...posting my photos on the internet. Never done that before, not very good with technology. Am seriously stressing that I will lose my place on the programme because I can't figure out how to do my photos within seven days haha It should be fun. I like that we set our own goals. VF you must do what's right for you!

Have only just noticed this thread...hope your pie phase is not over!!! I made a strawberry pie for a work colleague's birthday this week and everyone loved it. The crust was dates and almonds and the filling was cashews blended with water, lemon juice and a tablespoon of agave. Then I put strawberry slices on top. You can make the filling to your preferred consistency just by adding the

Hi Mona nice to hear from you I'm still reading the book as there was too much to absorb in one reading!!! But...the basic guidelines seem to be eat a LOT of fruit and keep the fats VERY low. the fruit is for calories, and the quantities that are given as examples are really quite large - I find it difficult to eat the amount of fruit that would be recommended for my calorie needs.

When I first heard about raw food I really wanted to get a dehydrator to make all those yummy looking recipes but I couldn't afford it. Now, only a few months in, I wouldn't get one even if I DID have the money. I don't think I could be bothered with the time it takes to make complex recipes when fruit and veg tastes so good just as it is.

Hi VF Glad to hear you are back on track, that's great! I was doing brilliantly and feeling so good, now I have had a couple of days of SAD in a big way (( You know how it is.....!!! Still think I am not getting enough calories for my activity level...and that eating too much fat jump starts all my cravings. Made a raw strawberry pie for a colleague's birthday (lots of nuts!) and a

Hi Veggie don't be sad!!! I get this all the time, I feel great with my lovely raw food and think about how I could never even want to eat horrible SAD again, then I find myself chomping on some bit of junk that I don't even really like. We're only at the beginning of this raw journey and we're bound to revert to habits that are DECADES old. Like Bryan said - it would be more surprising

Thanks for all the responses - forgot that I had started this thread! will let you know how it goes if i do decide to do a juice fast. raw1228 - I know, it's crazy that the dietician advises us to eat starches...and it's not even starchy vegetables that she means, it's GRAIN STARCH!!!! Eat how the dietician recommends and watch your blood sugar go crazy, espcially if you're type 2 not on i

Good to hear that things are going so well! Could be tricky doing 811 on holiday...good luck! Things are going well my end too. No binges since I started on Sunday Believe me, that is good going. Just haven't had the cravings as bad. And it's been quite an emotional week too - have been transferred to a new office with a manager I don't like and then today got a text message from one o

Glad to hear you had a good day! You sound like you are enjoying yourself I too am just loving all this fruit, although I think it will take me a while to get my head round it. Haven't had so much today because I haven't been as hungry, but yesterday boy did I guzzle loads of fruit!!! And I'm not craving fat - I thought I would, though obviously it's early days . I have been 100% raw si

I would be sad too if I didn't eat them sometimes...those really huge mushrooms are really "meaty" to eat so that's good if I'm starving!

Hi Veggie How's it going then with the 811? I noticed on the other forum you posted about the amount of fruit. I agree, even though I'm not following the meal plans and just doing my own thing, it seems SOOOOOO much fruit. Can't believe how much I've had to buy! Have a little voice in my head saying that is TOO much fruit sugar...but there again, the alternatives seem to be lots more f

A thread for everyone who would like to discuss 80/10/10.... Well, I got the book a couple of weeks ago. I really liked it and I have started to implement it slowly - way too much info for me to absorb all in one go! Need to read it a couple more times to get my head round it all. So at the moment I am just focussing on trying to get more fruit calories each day and trying to get unde

Yes, it was me who was struggling at 3pm......*sighs* lol I have also come to the conclusion that I simply wasn't eating enough. I felt FULL, but looking at fitday I seemed to be getting about 1200 cals a day and I do quite a lot of exercise so I'm sure that wasn't enough. By the way, now I've really tried to focus on eating MORE fruit during the day, I'm finding that I can tolerate a frui

I am aspiring to do 80/10/10. I liked the book and things made a lot of sense. Veggiefreak....I couldn't believe how much food he recommends, either! I don't think I've been getting enough... If there isn't a specific place to discuss 80/10/10 in a supportive way, maybe we could create one? Like a thread on the blog forum or something? Claire

Hi Tadey I'm struggling too with cravings! The only two things I have found so far which are helping are to cut out nuts because they make me binge and get sugar cravings, and to eat a whole lettuce when I get a craving. Usually I'm too stuffed after eating a whole lettuce that I don't want to eat anymore lol Claire

I also prefer juices. I used to love fruit smoothies, but funnily enough since getting into raw I haven't wanted any...weird! Maybe green smoothies put me off - I hate them. Haven't used my blender for ages....
