Quote i know this seems excessive but we love our organics. they make us feel better and taste better IMO!! Golly! I hope I taste better, too! LOL (Sorry, couldn't resist!) Quoteit may be costly now but in the long run we are saving mucho on medical... This really is the way to look at it. Not only do you save money on health issues, but eating organically isn't really that expensive

God's Way to Ultimate Health : A Common Sense Guide for Elimination of Sickness Through Nutrition by George H. Malkmus, Michael Dye? I'm still trying to find great books to read but this is very difficult when you aren't familiar with the authors or the subject matter. I appreciate other people's recommendations. Being a Christian, the above book intrigues me. The books that lay heavily

Quote I just had a colonic last Friday...with a side of wheatgrass juice! Yeah. See, that's just worded so.... wrong! LOL I applaud the curiosity, Greg, I really do. You're a better man than I am. It's just not gonna happen on my end. I'm way too squeamish. I'll observe it to death going in and I'll chew it until there's nothing to swallow if I need to, but after that, it's yesterday's

QuotePosted by: arugula (IP Logged) Date: February 25, 2008 03:28PM Yeah, this is probably a mild case of food poisoining. I had it not too long ago with some spinach I didn't rinse enough. How is the best way to clean/wash fruits and vegetables? Just a good rinsing?

I've never heard of plant grade hydrogen peroxide, much less drinking it! I'm gonna sit back and watch the wisdom roll in. Great, albeit scary, question Leesah.

I've just realized I'm a wimp. Hello, my name is Keith and I'm a wimp. And I'm okay with that. I'm all for being cleansed. I would love for my colon to pass the white glove test. But, getting a colonic freaks me out! First of all, there will be no entering where the sign says exit. Secondly, I don't look back once I eliminate. I'm just not that sentimental. I don't care what comes out

I've tried the kitchen spoon idea before and that got the bulk of it, but not nearly as much as brushing does. Hmmm.. I'm going to the Health Food Co Op tonight. I'll have to check out the scrapers. I've never had a problem brushing and getting it all though (being the perfectionist I am). But, I'm curious about the scraper now.

Patty, I'm glad you didn't give up! I found this thread encouraging, so know that you made a difference in one person's journey, okay? I'm brand-spanking new to this lifestyle. One suggestion I have when it comes to preparing your meals. Try looking at it from a different point of view. I used to love to cook! (Now, I'll just love uncooking!) The time I spent preparing and making me

There is a LOT of great information scattered about the forum on juicers and blenders. I think it would be great if there was a single thread where people who are in the market for them could go to find all of this information in one place. Many people are looking to purchase new ones or their very first one. Having this information in one thread would save a lot of time by having only one thr

There are a couple of points to be made here. Juicing adds variety and is great for different types of fasting and detoxifying. In these cases, juicing is only temporary or just for variety. I imagine there are folks who are strictly juicers and never chew a thing, but I don't think that's the optimum approach. A body needs fiber. The big advantage to juicing, dinesh75, is that most people

EZ rider, Thanks again. If I learn to like onions, the raw food lifestyle will be nothing short of miraculous and people should start watching for more signs and wonders! Don't tongue scrapers damage your taste buds? I've always just brushed my tongue when I brush my teeth. It's MUCH more effective, in my opinion.

This is where I'm at, too. It's really important to me to be cleansed and detoxified. I know I didn't get into a toxic state overnight and it won't go away overnight either, but if it's possible to find a program that will get me through the most (and worst) of it in two to three weeks, I'd absolutely do it, no matter how much suffering I had to endure. I just can't stand to think of all t

A month for every year? Great fluffy muffins, that's a long time! Isn't there a way to speed it up? I was considering going to The Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center (Gabriel Cousens) and going through their detox program. I didn't expect to leave there squeaky clean or pure as the driven snow, but I hoped I would get through the worst of it! (What is "driven snow" anyway?!)

Has anyone been to Tree of Life? If so, what did you participate in? For how long? They don't list prices... is it reasonable? Did you find it to be worthwhile? Shane, Thanks for responding. We have a bit in common. As my screen name suggests, I like living simply. I haven't watched television in four years. (I love living without a TV.) I also don't have a stereo, microwave or dishwasher. I have no intention of buying a dehydrator, either. Once I do a bit more research, I do intend to buy a great blender. Perhaps a small food processor, if I fi

I'm new to the raw foods lifestyle and I haven't gotten to this point myself, so take my advice with a grain of salt. But, from what I've researched and heard from a great number of people, the best way is to do the Master Cleanse Lemonade "diet." If you're not familiar with it, it's a lemonade made with spring water, fresh lemon or lime juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. This i
