Thank you...but That is not VA, so this IS happening in more than one state! In Minnesota, they admit they knew that the new law just made it hard on the elderly to vote, and it will cost. Shameful is the first thought that comes to mind. I doubt this will stand up to a legal fight is the second. You do see the problem with your argument here, don't you? These laws in multiple stat

Kidraw, Whats in a raw 'cinnamon roll' with berries and maple cream? I haven't been making any complex stuff lately, but that one sounds pretty tasty.

Hi Mindy, I agree about eating enough calories, especially during a transition to raw. It's interesting that you would use the word confession. This implies the guilt of not following the rules. You may find your transition easier if you rethink that since there are no rules. I'm about to hit my 10 year raw anniversary, and the way I see it is the goal is to eat as healthy as possible wh

And if you are elderly, under the care of others? My mother would not be able to vote in VA. since we, (her grown kids) do all those things for her.

A law like this take the rights away from two specific groups more than others. The elderly and the poor. It doesn't effect you, and you cheer. But what do you do when the government simply tries to REGULATE gun rights? That does effect you. Interesting...

So if you don't drive, don't go to school, or don't CARRY a gun, you get a hard time when you vote. And you cheer this? I guess they really don't like the elderly in VA. Edit to fix some facts...

KidRaw, To be more specific: Note that both the U.S. news and USA Today articles were opinion editorials. Patriot Update and Right Wing news are very one sided in anything their bloggers and columnists write.

Once again one of our discussions comes down to where we go to get informed. You and I seek and learn from different types of news that come from completely different types of sources. Those are all stories making accusations. Please show me the articles where they proved actual facts and took them to court. Such grievances, if true would need to be answered. I posted real news about real

I should have said republican legislatures, not governors. sorry. I don't like to copy and paste, but I don't have much time for fun today...but here are a few instances: Voter ID laws, however, are just one arm of a systemic attempt to curb the participation of certain voters. In some of these same states, including Alabama, Kansas, Tennessee and Florida, legislatures have also passed

No strawman, and no deception at all. Just some facts and asking your opinion of what I consider a fair comparison of important rights. Everyone has their priorities. Thanks for answering. I find your reply... puzzling.

KidRaw, You're right that some of the founders believed that baring arms was a "natural right", but it was not part of John Locke's Life, Liberty, and Property statement. Locke also stated that "estate" or property was a natural right as long as it DID NOT interfere with the first two natural rights. Thomas Paine later wrote that rights could not be "granted"

This thread is all over the place now. Veganjuice, Great points, but I don't agree: First, power and responsibility for regulation of commerce is assigned to the federal government by the constitution. We can't, and DON"T EVER want to change that, or well become like Europe!!! The green power debacle has been taken out of historical context. We the people paid a big part part for

Sorry, I missed your question about original intent, KidRaw. By now you should know, I always like to find the logical center! lol No seriously, I believe the framers of our constitution wanted to make sure certain things never changed such as (inalienable rights). Then they allowed a vehicle for progress (amendments), and a branch for future interpretation (the supreme court). So my answer

Not sorry I asked at all. I was just referring to guns...But heres my take on some of what you wrote... I agree with you on psychotropic drugs. Perhaps not banned, but at least restricted to their original focused intended use only which was for adults. When you start talking about banning books, I'll have to leave you there. You will never get me to agree to banning any books or videos. I

Kidraw, Remember I've studied constitutional law. The constitution does not forbid the government for regulating gun sales. The executive orders, or any of the presidents proposals do not infringe on our constitutional rights from what I've read. Background checks seem logical, and regulating magazine sizes pretty reasonable changes to me. Does anyone really need to shoot that many bullets

I'm not going to argue with you guys. You know I believe you have the right to own guns, and I back that right. I just like fact to be facts, and not hyped-up half truths. Peirs Morgan uses twisted facts, just like the all bloggers. Plain and simple, you can not count on things you hear on tv OR read on the net as being true. I consider all these sources just as suspect as the mainstream me

I'm afraid that is totally wrong about the U.K. I wish bloggers would stick to the facts instead of constantly feeding you guys false info. Look at this: Gun violence went up at first after the law was enacted, then it DECREASED and has stayed down ever since. Sad that the blogger decided not to mention that part of the facts.

Thanks for the tip. I eat organic when it's practical and affordable. The melons from Mexico are not organic. I think about 50 to 60% of my fruit is organic. All the leafy greens and herbs I eat are organic, either bought or homegrown. Many pesticides are illegal to use in the U.S. are not allowed because the pesticide runs off the fruit and fields into water our supply, not because of pestici
