Hi Wendy, Welcome, and congrats on making the change! It's not easy to change all at once. Most people need to ease their way into raw. Allow yourself to have a little rice or steamed veggies or whatever, and eat as much raw as you can. Set a goal of increasing the raw percentage every day or week...or month. Take your time, be nice to yourself. Once you really get into it, you going to be

"...space Barf"...agreed, and laughing at the creative term. I'm not an advocate of any type of processed foods, no matter how cool the process is or what shape that make it. 3D printing is not necessarily dependent on petroleum, or any one material really. It's unfortunate that plastic is the most common, but it's the easiest and cheapest to use. The basis of the current techn

Thanks for checking it out. I understand and share your concern. It's a quandary I've had being a product developer and a supporter of sustainable living. Unfortunately plastic is a big part of most consumer products. All the plastic that I spec'd for prototypes and productions is always recyclable and recycled. This stuff is very popular. Even now that I changed my business into scientific an

Yes but this can print those MREs in any shape! I'm certain that a meal of reconstituted bug and plant powder taste better if it comes in cool geometric shapes. Seriously, the technology does interest me though. Everyone wants prototypes fast. Over the last couple of years, I've had dozens of parts printed for clients (plastic and metal). Here's a cool 3d printing use. They 3D printed a tr

Try vaporizing cannabis, or some cannabis infused oil on a salad. Works great for arthritis and other deep pain.

I'm in my early 50's and recently settled into a nice routine that combines yoga and calisthenics. Yoga can be varied from a mellow stretch to major butt kicking workout depending on how long you hold poses and how you transition from pose to pose. Calisthenics, the basics are great at any age or level of fitness. There is something very satisfying about manipulating your own body weight

You're welcome michelemm. Inspiring smiles is the whole idea! Banana who, Probably, I'll have to look. I have thousands of photos of the pets so there should be some. The dog and the rabbit spent a lot of time together so that is the most likely what I'll find.

I like to make apple/date or banana/date lettuce wraps too. It's also good with a little chopped mint (or mustard greens for spunk). Lately I've been getting into Mexican papaya, blueberries, and chopped lettuce & herbs combined in a bowl with a little salt added.

You pm is full so I couldn't reply... The best chain stores to go for produce: Sprouts Henry's Jimbo's and Stater Bros (not organic) but quality and prices are good. There are Sprouts and Henry's all over the place. Jimbo's is in Leucadia and Escondido. Here is a list of San Diego Farmers markets. Scroll down for north county. There are also lots of great roadside fruit s

Everyone should have known it meant underhanded government involvement and profit as soon as Nixon used the term "war on drugs". Both words "Nixon" and "war" are big hints of massive corruptness. When the "war" included a natural growing plant (cannabis) everyone should have known that alcohol and tobacco, and pharmaceutics lobbies were heavily involve

Wow, I didn't know t5s were that powerful. thanks. The metal halade color temp is 7500k, so it's fine. The heat is not too bad and the plants all do great anywhere in a 10 to 50 inch distance range. I've done well with this set up for a couple of years. It is a power hog though. I should get a t5 instead. Maybe something like this will work. It uses about half the power: For nutrients, I

Great B2E. I grow greens indoor too. 108 watts is not much light though. You might need to boost the plants up to get them closer to the lights. Especially when they are small. Unfortunately, the inverse squared law effects the amount of light actually reaching the plant. My indoor grow area is about 16 sq ft. I use a 1000 watt metal halide lamp which is real bright, but it does put out a l

I live in San Diego too. The ocean water comes down from Alaska. It's 57 deg today. That's too cold for swimming. rab, I use to swim in the La Jolla cove in the summer. Have you tried that? Banana Who, I think you meant to ask raw-curious about the salt pool.

This is getting more and more common... You have the right to control the use of your images UNLESS you signed a consent form. The law is simple. If you signed a consent form for the photographer, the images are hers and she can use them anyway she wants. If you did not sign a consent form, the images are not hers to use. You have the right to tell her to remove them, and she must comply

I'm not swimming much these days but when I do, I swim for hours at an indoor pool. It's heavily chlorinated so I use this right after the swim: I don't get headaches from the chlorine but I do lots of deep breathing yoga afterwards to clear the chlorine out my lungs anyway.

KidRaw, The chemical compound you breathed in is chlorofluorocarbon (CFC). (Freon is a DuPont brand name) CFCs were banned for the effects on the ozone, not for dangers to people. So I agree, you don't need to worry about your health.

I agree, reading Sheldon is like reading a text book, but I would call it a good general reference. I think I pretty much follow it naturally except I do combine proteins with sweet fruits. You'll find that many raw desert recipes combine them. Dates and nuts or seeds tend to be a common delight. My suggestion is to consider it a loose guide. However, most people will agree that melons shou
