Do you guys count "false fruits" as fruits as well?

The definition of a fruitarian: A person who claims everything they eat is a fruit.

Just get refresh berries and dry them yourself. There is no need to use sulfur (it only acts as a color stabilizer IIRC). Now, where do you get fresh Goji berries?
Cheers,
Ian.

Yeah, I go there as often as I can. I'm happy to say I made it out to the Playa four times (including BM) last year. First time back at BM in about 6 years, I much prefer the smaller desert trips (small being from 2 to 250 people).
Do you make it out to Black Rock often?

Hi,
remember folk, Tuesday in nation pie day.
I'll be going to my friends pie party with a couple raw vegan pies. I did this last year and everybody loved my pie. In fact, this year I got a request to bring a cocoa avo pie (which I'll make if I can find some nice avocados).
These type of things are always good opportunities to share your yummy raw vegan food with others (several peop

Although skeptical at first, I'm really happy with my blendtec. It does a great job and has proven to be a great time saver. A lot easier to keep clean than my previous ($20 Target) blender. I don't think I've heard of many people being disappointed with either the Vitamix or blendtec. The blendtec is supposed to be short than the vitamix, while this didn't effect my choice at the time, I'm g

Hi,
one thing I've found with the Champion juicer is if you are having a problem juice something, mix it with stuff the Champion is good at juicing. Stick some carrots (or apples or whatever) in until you build up the pulp inside, then put in some khale, followed by some more carrot, khale, carrot, khale, carrot, etc... This seems to work for me. Of course, if you're trying to get just khal

252. Re: raw chili
Hmmm, redi-burger sound very, erm, junk-food-ish.
What's so special about it? Why can't you make a raw version?
I mean, if it's vegan and made from vegetable protein, why not just make it from vegetables? Or is there something else I'm missing?
Not trying to give you a hard time or put down your recipe, just trying to keep things "raw"...
Cheers,
Ian.

Nope, hybrids are not GMO's.
Personally, I don't worry about it, everything we buy in the stores these days are hybrids and have been for just about as long as humans have been eating them.

Donald Rumsfield just happens to be a majority stake holder in the company that claims to have or be developing a Bird Flu vaccine.... So, it's probably just a bunch of scare mongering to create massive profits... very sad.
On the other hand, there are a lot of people on this planet. If pandemic does happen, and we have 20% or better fatality rate, it's going to be a good thing for the plane

DAMN!!!!! I really sorry I didn't introduce myself. You looked just like you do in your current picture. I think you were even wearing the same yellow coat. You where talking with one of the Cafe Gratitude people when I saw you, which (well, I'm really shy) put me off interupting and finding out if you were who I thought you were.
Ahhh, my loss, I would have loved to meet you in person.

Nope, I think they are naturally salt. I've also had salty tasting greens from a home organic garden (and we definately didn't do anything like spray salt on
them). We did at the time live near the ocean, so maybe something in the soil from the sea? But I don't think so.

Carrots used to be tiny little things, but with selective breeding we made them big.
Yes, you can get older carrot strains, and if I remember correctly they are different colors and are also some what smaller than modern carrots. An ex-girlfriend of mine used to grow them, very tasty. Sorry I don't remember where she got them from or the varity name.

I think a dehydrator is one of lesser important tools for a raw vegan. I bought a cheap $10-$20 used dehydrator, used it for a year, then upgrade when I was sure I'd actually getting use out of it (they take up sooo much room). I now have the D10 from sausagemaker.com, to tell the truth I don't use it a lot, but really like being there when I end up with a whole bunch of ripe fruit I want to pr

I believe, from folk lore more than anything else, that raw kideny bean are toxic. So I've never tried them, and I think it might be a bad idea to try them to find out.
However, I've never had a problem digesting raw fresh chickpeas. Very yummy.
