Hi, I just make up my recipes. Add dates and/or dried bananas (or other died fruits, strawberries, apples, oranges, etc.) to some nuts and whatever flavouring you want (cacao nibs/powder, ginger, vanilla bean, cinimon, candy cap mushrooms, etc.). Put the ingreedents in the food processor, pulse a few times, add either nuts or dried fruit until you're happy the consistancy, make into bars and

Maybe if you're working out a lot or a serious distance running, but in that case you'll alreally know what you knew to do as far a calory counting anyway. 3) Fruits, nuts, greens. If you don't have any cooking skills, then you're in the right place, you don't need to cook anything, just pu

Well put Greenie. The first two paragraphs of your post I can relate to well. The major insentive for me to not drink is social dancing, I can't drink during the dance since it would effect my balanace and coordination, also if I'm slightly groggy the next day, it will effect my dance as well. I kind of miss drinking and getting drunk, but I'd miss dancing a lot more. I guess, if you enjoy

Very simple. Take a pile of date and a pile strawberries. Remove the pipes from the dates, then cut the stems out of the strawberries (there is hollow inside strawberry, if you cut the stem out properly then you'll get to hollow inside the strawberry). Chop up the dates and squeeze them inside of the strawberries. Then serve. Very yummy! Cheers, Ian.

Hi, I like sprouts. Although I agree that sprouted chickpeas are yucky, I disagree with the "eat'em cook or not at all" statement. My favourite is fresh chickpea, in their shells, these are fantastic. When I get a hold of some i try to save them for recipes (hummas, chana masala, etc.), but end up eating most of the straight. Straight out there pods into my mouth. I can eat po

My Blendtec is also in a perminent location, but under a cabinate. There isn't any need "to pull it out and push it back everytime it's used", the whole thing can be operated under a kitchen cabinate, the jug can be removed from and place on the base without any problem. So it isn't just for storage. This wasn't a big selling point for me, but I was happy this worked out when I shuff

Hmmm, you could probably make your own version of the first one, it appears to be just a jar and an air lock. For my sauerkraut crocks, I got one at second hand store. Pick a nice large crock about the size you want, then wonder around until you find a smaller crock the fits inside of it fairly tightly. On mine there is only 1mm of play around the edge when the little crock in the big crock.

Yeah, I was a little concerned the blendtec wasn't that sturdy since it was much liter than the vitamix, but I think it's really pretty well built, the base is heavy enough to keep it from moving around when it's on full blast and the such. Ian.

Vanilla icecream: - 2 inches of vanilla been. - cashew nuts - flesh of young coconut - agrave nector - a tiny pinch of salt - some water from a young coconut. Blend all together, taste, pop it in the icecream maker, try not to finish it all at once.

Interesting stuff. When it says 50% energy from carbohydrates and 10% from protein, can I assume that the remaining 40% is from fat? I ask because I started using the Pantry feature on nutritiondata.com and according to it I'm getting my energy 50% from carbohyrates, 40% fat and 10% protein. This is just what I've natural gravitated towards. Cheers, Ian.

Khale, I would like to point out, while science is involved in stages of what you talk about, it's corporations, business and marketing that is responsible for things like fortified flour and the other junk we don't need. Scare the people into thinking they need something, then sell it to them, use some psuedo science to justify it, then make lots of money. "People who get regular doses of

Most champain and wine is raw, heat is not part of process to make those. Cider should be raw as well, but now many commercial places that are using concentrated apple juice rather than raw fresh apple juice. The only hard liquor that I've which is raw vegan is Apple Jack. To make this, freeze some cider (the water freezes first) and pour off the alcohol. Being raw vegan allowed me to get

Raw hummus with sprouted chickpeas, absolutely disgusting. The only think I've eaten/tasted/spat-out was a rather expensive rotting raw vegan coconut cookie thingy (ok, I feel ill thinking about that incident.....). Normally I can do a pretty good job of saving a dish if it's coming out wrong, but not the hummass. When using garlic and spices, I add small amounts at a time until I get the

Try to avoid directly taking adivce from other people or trying to directly copy what works others too much. It's good to explore this diet and try the things that are working for others, but much of the information you will be given will be tainted/biast and/or very specific to one persons situation, use the information but don't take it as lore. Isn't the pineapple technically a berry? I'm not sure where you are getting information saying the pineapple is a vegetable, care to share? Cucumbers and tomato are still fruit, sorry, not much you can do about that. So, you're saying that we shouldn't be so strict in our definition of fruits/plants, but should be very strict in the our definition of fruitarian? Why? Thanks, Ian.

You seem to have rather high expectations of raw!!!!! It seems the guy was dying, one year to live before raw, then he lived 20 odd years longer than he was told, until he stopped eating raw then he died, and you say "NOT GOOD ENOUGH"... Please, tell us what is good enough djatchi? Thanks, Ian.
