I hear you. Since becoming a raw foodist a year ago, I have changed so much. The thing is my husband of 11 years is still continuing to eat junk food, drink beer, smoke cigars... Even before I became raw, I was very health concious--I was a vegetarian for 12 years and really never ate fast food. But my husbands way of life never bothered me until I became raw. Now, I watch him abuse his body and

VeggieLove, Why not try going 100%? That might help you reach your goals... what are you eating for the other 10% that is not raw? Do you do any exercising now? Even walking for an hour a day would be beneficial (also, walking is just as beneficial for weight loss and health as jogging/running). Perhaps for now, just try to make your goal to feel good, to feel healthy and happy; every

My 6 year old son is into raw food too, in fact some days if I offer him either a "healthy" vegan type cookie or some melon, he will choose the latter. Kids are pretty smart. Re: Asthma... my dad was asthmatic for over 20 years, using a puffer 3 or more times per day. My brother, who is also raw, did some research on water therapy for a Asthmatics and passed it onto my dad who immedi

Mama Cass, excellent suggestion! I forgot about baking soda as a cleaner. Rain, I use vinegar and borax as a toilet cleaner, but vinegar and baking soda would work great too!

Tyler and Fuzzysox, Thanks for the replies... just so you know, most days, I am 100% raw vegan. It's just a few days per month that I indulge in raw cheese. Also there is a huge difference between raw organic cheese and pasturized cooked cheese which is mucas forming. I was a vegetarian for 12 years before I started this raw journey and I must tell you that I feel so great being raw, so much

Tyler, I did not say that I ate raw meat; but if it helps people with thier journey then I would keep an open mind and listen. I am not here to judge; just to share my experience with those who are interested. I do not understand how you would find 100% organic, grain fed raw cheese disgusting, but you are entitled to your opinion. When I posted that message I did not realize that this is a Ve

Thanks for the information VeganLife, Scary stuff for sure...I have never felt comfortable using standard cleaning products... I basically use vinegar for cleaning glass, counters, mirrors. For cleaning toilets and bathrooms I use a mixture of Vinegar and borax. For dusting furniture, I use a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice (2 parts olive oil to one part lemon) and I swear it works

Love, Yes, I eat all the avos, oils and raw cheeses I want, without gaining weight... Its only the nuts I have a problem with... I love raw cheeses, you can get them almost anywhere.. although I usually go with raw organic which you can get at Whole Foods. And contrary to what some believe, I and many others believe that raw cheeses are very healthy; Its only when they are pasturized that the

I was taking E3 Live for about 3 months... I loved it, gave me lots of energy but found it really expensive ($34.00 a bottle up here in Canada). I am now growing and juicing my own wheatgrass, for only pennies a day; and guess what? I can't tell any difference between the E3 and Wheatgrass... In fact, I think I have more energy with the Wheatgrass. Cheers, Ferg.

Hi Love, I have been raw about a year now... I am not sure if you eat a lot of nuts but the one thing I have found is that when I eat too many nuts, I break out (this includes raw almond butter) when I cut down on nut fats my complexion is beautiful... I don't have a problem with other fats, ie., avocado, coconut oil or raw cheeses, I can eat as much as I want. It's only nuts that make me brea

Hi Everybody, Reading this thread and just had to share. When I began my raw journey about 9 months ago, I was at my In-laws 40th anniversary party. They married pretty young and are only 60. However, my MIL has horrible health problems, overweight, doesn't exercise and eat awfully. Well, the day of the party, lots of cooked junk food around and she couldn't resist sticking stuff in my face,

I bring green smoothies to work every day for lunch. I blend ice, water, spinach, mangos and bananas and put in in a big thermos. A Tasty and satisfying lunch! I will also bring fruits to snack on: today I had watermelon for breakfast. For my afternoon snace tomato and an orange. I never spend a cent on my lunch anymore. And its usually all organic.
