Is grapefruit seed extract the same as the vegetable wash I get at my local health food store? It's called Healthy Harvest? This store employes Nutritionists, Doctors and very knowledgable people. I trust anything they carry but I'm open for suggestions. Thx! -J-

I am enjoying the 7 week raw diet and I am 9 days raw. (before that a few days of raw on and off). In the last few days I've been 100% raw except I can't let go of my nightly cocktail/wine. Can someone give me information why I shouldn't have this? There are organic wines and I'm wondering if they are OK? I'm committed to do the right thing, but I really love my evening cocktail. THX! -J- Anot

I am very new to this eating lifestyle and I'm loving it. However, I do love my glass of wine at night. Is this (and why) totally off limits even if it's organic? -J-

My theory is checking it out with the doctor will alleviate any concerns and get to the bottom why the bleeding occured. Always better to be safe than sorry! -J-

Your article was awesome and inspiting! I'm very new (couple of weeks) to the way of eating all raw and I'm truly in awe of what you have accomplished. It's so great that you didn't give in to peer pressure. I haven't been around any friends yet except my daughter and son-in-law. They are totally supportive. Congratulations to you for your persistence. You sound like a wonderful person. -J-

I agree that you should check with your doctor. If nothing else, to put your mind at ease. This may be a really positive thing for you. Good luck (don't ignore it, though) -J-

I always ate the pith from the skin after peeling an orange and everyone (without exception!) thought I was nuts. I like the zest of oranges and lemons. I'm not sure I would enjoy eating the skin. A personal preference, I guess. -J-

I LOVELOVELOVE avacados but don't eat them because of the fat content. I am very very new to raw food eating. Today I had an avacado (without salt which was a killer) and I was in heaven. I haven't bought coconuts yet. I LOVE them but because of the fat I haven't had one in years. Can someone please tell me why this is OK for the raw food diet? My husband has heart disease and I've gotten him on the 7 week raw food diet with me. I just want to make sure I don't overdue the fat. I'm only a couple of weeks learning about this way of eating so I need lots of help. THX for any advice.

Hi! I'm finding that I have a BM several times a day. This AM I was surprised when my BM was "beet" color!!!!! I had made a coleslaw of raw beets, carrots and cabbage. Over a 2 day period I had 3 or so helpings (the recipe made enough for an army!). I didn't have any today and after the first few @#$%& it stopped. However, my BM'S are very loose. I'm very new to raw food (couple of week

Hi, I signed on to do the 7 week raw but I haven't kept a journal. I read everyone's thread and it's inspiring. Before I go on I want to make sure I'm accessing this board correctly. Earthangel has been my guardian angel. She has helped me soooo much. I can tell from the posts that everyone just loves her. She's the best! Be back with my journal if I'm in the right place! -J-

I am also new to this. What is the "recipe" or whatever you call it for the maple syrup and any other detox and how long do you do it? What happens on this on a daily basis? I'm really green (no pun intended) on the detox subject. Thx!

I know what you feel about raw broccoli. I used to love it steamed with fresh lemon squeezed on it. I would eat huge amounts. I am very new to raw eating. I tried a smoothie that was delicious and had no taste of broccoli. The recipe is from Vita-Mix & tastes good: 2 broccoli florettes 1/2 kale leaf 1/2 celery stalk 2 small carrots 1/4 apple 1/4c cold water 1/2c ice cubes It yield

I read all of the advice for your situation. I'm pretty sure you need a "grow light" for your inside garden. It's specifically made for your purpose. A good nursery can advise if another type of bulb would work as well. Hope this helps!

Hi! You can grow herbs and vegetables inside with a grow light. You can check with your local nursery and get herbs & veggies that are already started. In my area (CT) we have an awesome organic place called Gilbertie's. I know that his seedlings are sold in 800 locations. They can guide you as to what you can grow inside with the grow light. You can probably even get a grow light at Home
