Waow. I think this is a bit extreme. I would expect to use my blender in the kitcher, not in the garage. That sounds really bad.

I am ready to buy my blender. I have been doing some research and I am inclining toward the Vita-Mix 5000. However, I have also read that these comercial-quality appliances (KTec/Blend Tec included) are INCREDDIBLY noisy. Someone compared it to an airplane taking off. MY God! I have a huge fear of flying so the last thing I need is to hear several take-offs in my kitchen every day. The noise

I have an older Oster - and it is absolutely horrible. It does nothing. You put whatever ingredients and they just sit there. It rotates in a void and the ingredients remain untouched. So no Oster for me.

I noticed the traffic on the "equipment" forum is very low. I was wondering if anyone here could help me with the question I addressed there: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have educated myself on what's out there regarding good blenders and I have started to think about the Vita-Mix 4500. It appears to be the most "modest"

I have educated myself on what's out there regarding good blenders and I have started to think about the Vita-Mix 4500. It appears to be the most "modest" from the "Hot" blenders on the market right now - mainly because it has only 2 speeds and only 2HP. The lowest price I found for it is already at the top limit of what I want to spend. In other words I am trying to get

That guy seems to intrigue and confuse everyone. I had the same questions when I ran into his website. I think we spoke on the phone because I was interested in a blender - but I just... could not communicate with him properly. I kept asking something and he just would not answer my quesion. He was all over the place and a tad weird - same as on the site. Oh, well.

If I completely cut out both fruit AND fat (including the good kinds such as in nuts) ...what in the world am I supposed to eat then? I think that at this point my primary concern is to get rid of candida, more so than to become a 100% rawfoodist. Fruits seems to be a major part of a rawfoodist's lifestyle. If you take those out too...then you simply cannot do the raw food thing, at least not

So Cricris...you're still in Romania...! Your English is so good I never doubted you left long time ago. Yes, I remember those times well, I am 34 - the Revolution caught me at 17. I must say I might have been among the luckier ones. We always had lots of food because of my parents' workplace. They could also procure meat and all sorts of other things due to their occupation. But not everyon

I work for a cancer-related organization and we receive updates on latest research (before it even comes out) daily. Also, other cancer-related news.e-mails etc. Here's one I received this morning - thought it was interesting. In the frist paragraphs, I believe she refers to the famous very recent study that found no differences in cancer survival rates between those who ate a regular 5/a day die

Well...it is and it's not. First, they were working for some very large green-houses. It was a big socialist agro-business where the production had tp be huge. They DID use pesticides and all sorts of things to increase production - those were the directives. They were two of the dozens of engineers working for those green-houses. Besides...at home, we were not a "green"/"raw&

Hmmm...so there's also a school of thought out there that says it is FAT the one responsible for Candida, not carbs/sweets.Well, I never heard of this one. The classics say that it's the carbs and sugar. In my case, this seems to apply because my diet normally is not high in fat, it is rather high in carbs. I normally eat A LOT OF fruit and if I let myself go, I would also be capable of eat

Thanks everyone so much. I was kind of frustrated. As a matter of fact, even though I have always eaten cooked food, I would not say that I have favored the SAD until a few years ago. I lived outside of the US (in Eastern Europe) until I was 24, and growing up over there, you simply did not have all these SAD processed foods available, whether you liked it or not (socialism was going on, simp

Watch this out...from a "raw" site. I am not going to give it here, but I am just wondering how can idiots like myself make any sense of something like this? I do drink almond milk out of the American almonds

I am confused again. Sometimes I get so sick of the complexity of this world we live in... Millions of schools of tought out there, anyone's argument (Einstein's included) can be completely smashed in a second by some other SP (= Smart Pants) with "The" truth in his/her hand, so on, so forth. As my sister says: "I hate this relativistic world we live in. Why can't I know who's th

On a Rheumatoid Arthritis forum I asked people whether anyone there had considered switching to an overall healthy lifestyle, including raw foods, etc to get rid of the disease as opposed to just accepting the conventional, medical approach "there's nu cure, take medication". Answers received, cut and pasted: <<Rheumatoid Arthritis has been around since the beginning of

Thank you so much everyone for your kind welcome. I knew long time ago that giving up meat would not be too hard for me. Meat is something I don't mind having, here and there, but I never craved a lot of it and when I don't have it available, I just shrugg it off. I can do fine without. Compared to other people, I was already not a major meat consumer; except for a few years ago when I was st
