I've only seen and heard good things about carob so I don't think there's anything toxic about it as long as it's truly raw and organically grown. Recipes don't require much just because you don't need much to make it taste good.

They work well mixed in salads. Or you can just marinate them in oil with garlic or in a dressing.

I love corn. I just cut it off with a knife and eat. Sometimes add other ingredients. It's very delicious, way better than cooking it.

You're ahead of many beginners with a Vitamix, which really may be all you need. I was able to for years & likely won't own a dehydrator. Keeping it simple is the best advice. Also have variety and make it fun!

Never Be Sick Again by Raymond Francis. Doesn't help me stay raw, but reinforced it was my next step prior to it.

I make a thicker tomato soup with sun dried tomatoes. You can also use avocado. Also thickens up in the fridge.

I've made Sweet Potato Soup that's delicious. Soaking it beforehand is good, but you don't have to. Can also make dehydrated chips. Sweet Potato Soup Sweet Potatoes peeled & chopped (blend 1st) ½-1 Apple peeled & chopped 1-2 Garlic cloves 1-2 cups Water Blend. Add a dash of Salt & Cinnamon on top. White potatoes aren't recommended.

From the research I did awhile back, I think most or all of them are not true raw. Also read a lot of reviews saying how awful they tasted. Some like them though.

Slowly start eating raw-first substitute one meal and keep doing that until all or mostly raw. Green smoothies are one of the easiest things to incorporate. Salads too.

I've been wanting to try this. Seems all the exotic fruits, besides rarely available are extremely expensive. May be worth it if it's as amazing as my favorite, Mamey Sapote. Haven't had it in so long. Hmmm...just read the pear comparison. I have never liked pears on their own. Only in a raw dessert. Oh well, gotta try it at least once.

Instead of asking if they're raw, ask them to give you the detailed process. That's how you find out the truth.

I would enjoy it, but to make it successful adding some other choices would be advisable: various salads, smoothies, juices, soups, etc. Low-fat gourmet meals too. Even some typical raw meals that you'd find at other raw restaurants. The more people you can cater to, the better chance it will work long-term.

The cashews sold raw are hand-shelled, that's why they're so expensive. They use specially-designed tools to split open each cashew. So I guess you can try to find the tools.

I just don't bother with that restriction. I do enough with my diet, without making things more difficult. To me it's way more important to eat raw and organic than local. I find it's practically impossible to eat local, unless I barely want variety and that's not an option. There's not enough variety as it is until summer. Maybe you can find other sources in your area that you haven't tried b

It's really great at the beginning of raw or for times you really need it like traveling or just busy. Long-term, it's not the best since they're high in fat, among other things. Making your own food to bring, (if you don't want to eat produce plain) is the best way to go. Soups and smoothies are very simple to make large batches of. You can even freeze some of necessary. Other things too can

The Blendtec did this with the majority of things I made that were liquid and it was no where near the capacity line. Not only would food come out of the hole, which is big enough for plenty of liquid to come out of it, but it would make the lid come up so more liquid would come out of it. The owner had the same issues. No cap for the hole. It didn't happen for every single thing, but enough time

Got to test a Blendtec for a few weeks and love my Vitamix best. Have had it for years. One thing that no one mentions about the Blendtec is how there is a hole in the lid where food comes flying out unless you're there to cover it with your finger. That has to be the most annoying thing and means you're stuck there the whole time. Once I dealt with that a few times, not to mention the lid trying
