This subject has come up before. Other posters have said several things regarding this: 1. More is not necessarily better. The absorbable amount of lycopene in raw tomato may be just peachy! 2. There are many other sources of lycopene in raw fruits and vegetables. I think someone said there is more lycopene in watermelon than in tomato. Don't if that's but point is you can incre

Has anyone else tried it? I did originally for 3 days with no problem. Next time did 5 and the last time 10 days. The last time, I could take my glasses and just about read across the room without a prescription. The mental clarity and focus was enormous. For those who have tried it, what was your experience.

HelloKitty, Thanks for the warning on blended salads. I'd been advised to try that and had stayed away in favor just eating it whole. Maybe we do more chewing with something not blended? Have hear Cherre Soria of "Raw Food Revolution" and others talk about chewing when taking a smoothy. It's helped. Paul

Diahrea has less to do with the nature of the food your are eating than the condition of your colon. Babies get diaper rash following ear infections because the antibiotics they take kill the good bacteria in the colon. The treatment is usually probiotics in the form of yogurt. But good vegan alternatives are available. Generally speaking fruit or any other food isn't likely to give you dia

what about sprouted grains and legumes? Do those make the problem worse, better or no difference? edit, one ounce of buckwheat groats uncooked has 97 calories and 21 grams of carbs. A cup, uncooked has 123 grams of carbs and 567 calories, pretty packed. Presumably sprouted would be less.

To start with, it's just one review, notwithstanding that reviews are analyses of multiple studies over time. It's just as possible other reviews on the same subject show opposite results. Just for an example, in 2006 a Hungarian review on the same subject matter showed organic foods were higher in Vitamin C, polyphenols and flavonoids The review itself was comissioned by the UK Food St

In winter, I like to layer multiple thin layers as opposed to a heavy coat. Traps warm air between layers. Usually a cotton undershirt, two overshirts and additional layers as needed. If it's windy, add a Gore-tex shell over it. Note it's not an Al-Gore-tex shell (which I keep in my "lock box!!" lol), just Gore-tex.

Molli, While I agree very much with the idea to be practical, being practical I think also involves acknowledging "conditions on the ground" so to speak. By which I mean what really happens to the sheep whose wool we buy. And there I believe that boycotting wool under any circumstances unless you have very good information to the contrary is a solid idea. The sheep do suffer.
