i know the kempo machine...i have used it and it doesn't stand up to the "torture" of pounding greens like kale ,collards and dandelions like the green star. like i said before kempo looks like a toy compared to the real thing. i juice a gallon of kale apple ginger in about half an hour. Kempo has too small of a motor and no cooling fan like the green star. also the squeezing chamber is

yes it doesw take up less counterspace...but modt people will not be traveling with the juicer. as far a cleaning goes...there is very little difference...as anyone who juices knows, cleanup is the part most people sorta hate to do..so naturally it would follow that cleanup is pain no matter what machine you use. the mental attitude of hating the cleanup only makes it more of a chore. i find

an interesting thought. why not view your daily health and nutrition program like a bank account. good things are a deposit and not so good things would be withdrawls. what is your balance? juicing could be viewed as "gold mine" for making deposits into your nutritional bank account. why not add the actual implementation of a good detox schedule and get compound interest o

hi amber most types and brands of juicers in a generic sense are severly limited in their range of abilities to juice a complete spectrum of plantlife. get off to a good start with a full range of possibilities for using your machine. the price range you indicate is below the cost of a greenstar, which is top of the line in all respects. save money by getting it right the first time. i have

cheaper type juicers are now showing up in secondhand thrift stores. check it out you may find a nice one to get started with. set a goal for a professional type machine once you have confirmed your committment to juicing. green star is the best, without doubt, for a professional grade machine. jj

what is the estimated total investment for both? (supposing one has the kithchen space to handle both machines without cluttering up the food prep area) with the single augur machines, a back up machine for carrots and hard stuff is a must for any serious amount of juicing,....correct? a person must decide on how aggressive they are going to be with their juice program above all things.

one very important point to know about juicers....centrifugal machines such as the omega and l'equip will leave a very wet pulp. this means you are wasting a percentage of juice each time you juice. centrifugals are also noisy andlimited as to what you can put through them...they do not do a decent job on leafy green and wheatgrass at all. the only machines which extract the maximum juice and giv

it sounds as tho you need a blender for what are describing. vita mix is really heavy duty and may be in the "overkill" category. may i suggest a regular blender in the 25 to 50 dollar price range or if you are looking for convenience i can attest to the useful ness of the tribest mini blender. i have one and i use it alot for exactly what you are talking about. the easy clean up will

specifically,.........because of juicers we can focus our aquisition of nutritive substances......greater quantities of juiced produce can be digested is the least amount of time. it would be something like being put ina room and where a tube is spewing one, five ten, and twenty dollar bills. you are allowed to pick up any denomination you would like. which ones will you go for on a priority bas

here is a quote from the book comparing juicers and blenders: in the first place, the blended carrot isn't nearly as palatable as tasty sweet juice. infact it is somewhat hard to take and to most people palatablity is of vital importance........especially when dealing with children. children wqill take the juice readily and evan with joy and pleasure but you will find it extremely difficult t

i would to share a really neat book i pulled off of my library shelf this morning. it is called, "The miracle of live juices and raw foods" by John H. Tobe. i suspect it is out of print. it was copyrighted in canda in 1977....possibly one could requeswt a copy through your local library's inter-library loan program. it is usually an easy thing to do. anyway this book really shows how ti

if you are seriously considering doing the "wheatgrass thing".....may i suggest getting outfitted with the right tools. nothing is evan close to the green star for wheatgrass juicing..while you are doing the wheat grass thing, you may as well juice some other stuff too. what i'm saying is that it isn't a whole lotta extra work to throw in some veggies after the wheatgrass is done and

integrity here means the natural state of health any body system in endowed with. in other words it is not in "compromised" state. the lymphatic system does no exist as a separate entity, it is tied in with many other relationships to the body. give the body what it needs and it will become strenghthened and take care of all the details automatically with its massive inate intelligenc

the small amount of pulp left inside the machine after jicing is usually not much and my drain takes it down. i help it out by using my fingers to push iit down if it tends to clog up....usually thois is not a problem. maybe your sink drain needs a cleaning. jj

in that case you may want to look for an online source for a manually operated wheat grass machine. they are rather slow and labor intensive, but they do fine for small quantities. z-star is the one that comes to mind. although i do not have one, i have seen them in operation and they work really well. jj

blending is really aninferior method of getting juice from wheatgrass. green star is the wheatgrass king! you won't believe how fast it juices the wheatgrass leaving only a bone dry pulp. as far as destruction of the chlorophyll, i'm not sure. if you like a liyttle coffee or tea, i doubt if it will be destructive in any major way. i would recommend taking the coffee black as the cream and suga

if you are very meticulous, it may take an extraordinary leghth of time to clean your machine. here is how i do it in under 4 minutes. move machine to edge of sink so the front hangs over the edge a little bit. next, using the spray hose attachment on your sink, squirt water down the feeding chute and turn machine on. this loosens up the remains inside the juicer. use a few glasses of water

i have found that in most cases wheatgrass properly grown will taste good. by that i mean it is sweet and does not leave an unpleasant aftertaste. alot of people are getting into growing wheatgrass. so i would expect to see the competition between growers will make for better wheatgrass product to the consumer. growing it at home is another way to do it. some companies have wheat grass growing k

yes...each juicer requires a certain prep routine. anyone who juices must decide where their comfort zone is. try to decide what size........ for all the items you juice. never push too hard or make any machine "bog down" under too heavy a load. on a twin gear .........leafy greens and wheatgrass should be gently tamped down with the wooden plunger. dont be in too much of a hurry a
