obviously ...the comments on the "clogging" would have to be surely unfounded or concluded by a very limited usage since i have litereally juiced gallons without need to clean the fine screen not experience a "clogging" issue.

all of the folks who participate with this forum ...sincerely believe that their opinion of what is the best juicer is undeniably correct. unfortunately... unless their opinions can be substantiated by the criteria which are considered to be foundation "stones" for the production good health building juice....we must at least question these opinions.

I think that a very important feature to consider when making the purchase of a juicing machine is to check out if the gear that does the grinding is made of staniless steel or plastic.
despite the many claims made by several juicer manufacturing companies that the plastic they are using is safe and durable, i would like to shine a new light into this dark area.

general consensus amoung juing professionals is that the greenstar 5000 elite is undoubtably the best you can get. less pricy is the basic greenstar 1000 (about $100 less). same quality of juice from both machines but the gs 5000 elite is worth considering if you can afford it.

i checked out your comment you made on the problem i experience with unjuiced pulp remaining in the machine "as unjuiced" and ....i am convinced that it only happens when the pulp discharge orfice becomes clogged up(but it happens frequently enough to provoke my disatisfaction) . i apologize for my mistake.
regarding pulp in the juice....i still find that to be antagonistic

i have both the greenstar elite and the hurom slow which is exactly the same juicer as the omega vert.and here is what i have observed:
the omega vert or hurom slow juicer ...both are incredibly inefficient.

cuke is related to melon and i love the way it "tames down" strong green mixes.
i also mix cuke with melon rinds. melon rinds are loaded with good minerals. try adding a little jalapeno and evan garlic. sunflower sprouts also make a nice combo with cuke.

the new gs-5000 or greenstar elite has a design change and the gears have been extended a bit which makes carrot juicing pretty easy. i can juice up a quart or more of carrot juice in less than 10 min.

the omega 8003 is a cheap plastic handcrank juicer with a motor. it does not juice carrots and hard veggies efficiently....for greens and celery it is ok.
if you spend that much on the omega you may as well save up or go the extra mile and get a machine which is truly suitable for juicing hard stuff as well as greens.
