Can't help with a recipe, but this might be of use? I think I've seen reviews of these being used as wedding cakes with much success. Good luck!

Just had to throw this out there: avocado WITH raw olives is awesome. I know, I know, fat with fat, but you really only need like 3 or 4 small olives with the avocado. It's one of those cases where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

I make really GREEN green smoothies with tons of kale and parsley, whole cuke, lots of clover & fenugreek sprouts .. and I've found that if you throw in one or two green d'Anjou pears, for some reason it really cuts the bitterness, much more effectively than loading it up with bananas. Other than the pears, the only fruit my smoothies get is a couple of frozen bananas .. cause it makes the te

Happy b-day! Sorry your family isn't being supportive. When I first started on raw, my family was concerned about my health, and sometimes they showed it in strange ways. Eventually they saw I wasn't about to fall apart from lack of a "balanced diet", and the odd ways of showing their concern passed. Now they just roll with it, and both my mom and my sister are now incorporating more ra

It's definitely going better now than it was. My nausea is pretty much gone (8.5 weeks) and I'm incorporating more and more fruit, though the greens still turn my stomach for some odd reason. Maybe I'll try some green smoothies. Have been doing fine with watermelon, pears, oranges, mangoes, lots of apples, young coconut water .. Just bought one of those freezer popsicle molds. I'm thinking pineap

Oh, just as an aside for you nursing mommies .. in case you didn't know, Living Tree Community Foods has an ongoing offer where they send a free pound of their organic sundried raisins with any purchase to nursing moms. (I don't work for them or anything, I'm just definitely going to be placing orders when I start nursing!) Here's the link:

Thanks for all the great replies! It's definitely helpful reading about other people's experiences with this. I'm around 7 weeks, so hopefully within the next month or so I should be back on at least 75-80% raw, and work back up to 100% as I can. We'll see! Thanks again!

Ah, sorry, my wording was a bit confusing. What I meant by "low calorie" fruit was just that I'm now only able to eat the water-based, lower calorie fruits (apples and oranges instead of, say, bananas and avocados) and only in small quantities, so whereas before I got pregnant my fruit-based calorie intake was probably about 1000-1200 daily (mostly in water-based fruits), now it's proba

Hi all! Last month I found out I was pregnant, and although I really wanted to stay raw throughout it, for the past several weeks I haven't been able to due to nausea. I started out at high-fruit low-fat raw, but lately have only been able to eat maybe two or three pieces of fruit a day, and the idea of veggies turns my stomach. Sadly, I've had to resort to bland cooked foods (toast, cereal ma

Hi everyone. I've been very close to 100% raw for a few months now, and haven't really noticed anything by way of possible detox symptoms until a few weeks ago. There's a fairly long list of what I've been experiencing since, and I have no idea how likely it is to be detox. Some of the symptoms sound familiar from my reading of other people's experience, but some I'm not so sure about. The

so i was wondering whether the packaged "raw almonds" at trader joe's actually were .. i knew that at one point last year they weren't, but wanted to check up on the current situation. anyway, here's what they said: Nicole, We appreciate your inquiry. Although, the nuts are not roasted and are completely raw, the final product with packaging is pasteurized to maintain its she

do you have a dehydrator? the best way i've found to melt coconut oil (and make sure it doesn't get too warm) is sit it on top of my excalibur while it's running at 105*. doesn't take long at all, and no worries about splashing water into your oil. (the sprouts like it up there too, makes 'em grow like crazy things.)

hi all. new here. wave wave. can anyone tell me whether the date people have generally reasonable shipping costs, and when they do actually start shipping? i'd like to avoid making a cross-country phone call to find out if i can. i know that some other companies make a killing on shipping and i was just wondering whether the date people's affordable-looking prices were too good to be true. heh
