Would love to see the results of this "diet" over 6 months or a year. Let the body utilize its fatty stores then watch the metabolism completely tank and the weight gain begin. Ten weeks isn't even long enough for insulin resistence to kick in. But hey... for a short term weight loss solution, I guess the proof is in the pudding. LOL

Iodine in kelp: 1 gram kelp: 79-300mcg iodine When in doubt add less than a tsp of salt or dried kelp to the diet and you're good. I know that iodine has been discussed a lot on this forum so I'll dig through the archines and see what I can learn.

I suggest you go raw first, fine tune the diet, work out the kinks, then bring the family into raw. The raw journey can be a rocky one in the beginning and stressful if not done right. I also think it is important to be careful about how you discuss the raw food way of life vs cooked food way of life. Don't label cooked food as "bad" because your kids WILL eat cooked food occassi

The employee was probably saving you some misery from the men's room grossness. Shoes sticking to the floor, sticky toilet seat. Besides, the phone numbers on the wall wouldn't really be in your favor, right? LOL

Oh I just read the Jennings link - wtf? I don't want kids reading that garbage. But you know... I recently decided to watch a few episodes of Criminal Minds and I swear, those screen writers are some sick people. All episodes have been about the abduction and sexual torment of women in an S/M manner. Lots of bondage and torture tools and talk about dominant and submissive. Horrible stuff. T

Thanks for posting all that Suncloud. In all that you have read, do you agree with runningraw (VanOrden) that the switch from glucose burning to fatty acid burning takes place after about 30 minutes exercising?

It is odd that you don't feel different after giving up cooked food and "a lot" of bread. Just giving up the bread should have made you feel light and alive. Odd. Maybe you should go more simple in the diet.

Aging can be so sad sometimes. I recently spent some time visiting a relative in a nursing home. It was my first experience in that type environment and it was sad. So many elderly waiting to die. Looked just like the photo above. Of course, there were a few spicy old folks scooting around in their wheelchairs, but most were just sleeping until they die. That experience took away my fear

Through the years I have come to accept that some folks prefer to process the raw foods into something spectacular, while others prefer to keep it simple. I prefer to keep it simple. Most books have recipes that are blended or chopped or processed or dehydrated and few focus on whole foods. (For example... Sunfood Diet Success will list 10 satsumas as a "meal" whereas Alissa's book w

I can only eat dates alone. If I combine them with anything I get severe heart burn (acid reflux). If I don't follow them with something substantial such as a salad or high fiber food then I get a sugar rush followed by a crash. There is just something about dates that I have to follow food combining principles exactly if I am to eat them. Eat them alone, wait at least half and hour, then eat

That gets the point across. Now, do one for the processed food portion of the grocery store (frozen pizza, fries, canned slush, chips, colas, etc.) I hate that fast food gets attacked but the grocery stores sell food equally as bad. And pizza delivery to the home... that's worse than drive-thru!

I have always loved to watch cooking shows on TV. Sometimes I find myself getting disgusted as they cook the food to oblivion. I just watched a show that turned beautiful crispy veggies into a backened mushy mess and poured it over the top of a hideously blackened meat. Yuck!

First let me say that I am a fan of your videos and love your retorts to nay-sayers. In your vids you have mentioned that any carb is a good carb for the body, even for non-raw eaters. "Just eat carbs" I never worry about raw carbs but cooked grains with their gummy denatured carbs worry me a bit. What is your opinion about this video from runningraw:

What was your diet like before raw? It is possible you had a good lifestyle before raw and you may not experience a heavy detox. Your diet is looking good so far. Your dinners seem to be getting light, though so make sure you are getting enough nutrients the rest of the day..

I saw this on TV today and liked the idea of the triple blades as well as the dough paddles. I can already think of many ways to use the product. Has anyone used the Ninja? What do you think of it? Here is a link to the website and a video. Sure, there is a lot of marketing hype but it looks good regardless:
