After waking up,I have to blink many times because my eyes are so dry.
I don't remember having experienced that disconfort on cooked food. So What could be the cause of it?
I did some research but what is said is to put some medicated liquid in the eyes. Any other treatments ?
many thanks

Natsroses ¨- about staying raw. I don't know for other people here but as for me I always told myself the following at meal time : First I'm gonna eat raw (a lot of very nice and tasty raw foods) and after that if I'm still hungry I will eat some cooked. By the time I'm finished eating all the raw dishes, I'm not hungry anymore and not tempted. That little trick worked so well for me that I'm at

97. Re: Anxiety
Sorry I should have written "sugar used to make me....
suncloud : Very interesting post about yin and yang foods.
If nature have us born in this cold country, for sure we should have something to eat hereand not rely 100% on food grown 2000 km away.

99. Re: Anxiety
Sugar was used to put me on a emotional roller-coaster.
I didn't know what was happening then and thought everybody was living the same way than me.
Good riddance! I'm so happy now to be 100% raw and to have kick sugar out of my life.
At least for me, anxiety was due to eating desserts and sweets.
When I was transitioning, even ONE little cookie would cause afeter effect of anxiety

100. Re: healing crisis
I found that even sick people would not try raw food if they were told that it will heal them. It really is too much of a change, too drastic, or they don't believe in it I guess, afterall if it was so wonderfull their doctor would have told them about it.
One lady said to me that really she can't do it because she can't stop eating the way she eats usually. So it is not about raw food at all

Thank you - I guess I should be patient - As a vegeterian, my usual night sleep was 8 - 9 hours...
My problem is not the raw food, rather my inner doubts like : is it really good for me? What if I don't succeed at getting back my normal weight? Will I have to continue with a restrictive menu for long ( I am intolerant to many fruits, green and veggies) ? How is it that I sleep so long...

103. Re: Raw Chick Peas
They were fresh? Cool...
bercause when they are dry, and have to be soaked and sprouted, the taste has to disapear behind lots of dressings to become palatable...
burk, that starchy bean taste is horrible (sorry, don't want to upset anyone)

I agree with David, suncloud and EZ rider.
I think chewing is the way to go...
There seems to be no stop signal with smmothies, at least for me , and the tendency to have more is always there. Then that huge bulk of liquid food sits on the stomack for a while, makink the whole process unconfortable.

105. how is it possible
I need more sleep as a raw foodist than I did as vegeterian.
What could explain that? lack of vitamins? minerals?
Maybe I don't eat enough ? I eat to satisfy my hunger though...can't be that..
any ideas?
thanks a lot
just wandering today if I should stop, after 4 months 100%. It is not that it is difficult. No. It just is my own doubt. After all those months, I expected more resu

108. Re: grains
I did try to eat sprouted millet, quinoa, even wheat but I really don't like the taste and the starchy feeling it gave. After a few recipes, all with horrible taste, I gave up without any regret. Some say that grains contain opiacés - addictive for those qho eat it.
Well, bread was the last thing I ate cooked. Probably why I still think about it. my last craving to overcome...

109. Re: Sweet Potato
potato germs are not good to eat, nor potato itself. They're plenty of fresh fruits and veggies to eat other than that.

don't be too hard on yourself. I agree with other posts here : all raw fooders have slipped along the way. Just keep trying. Like the wise says "Do, do and one day , it will be done".

Usually I have juice or juicy fruits in the morning, sweet or semisweet fruits for lunch (no bananas or dates) and heavier food for dinner like avocado, tomatoes or mixed salads and some nuts.

here it goes :
bottom : mix of minced veggies
middle :fresh corn
top layer : mock potatoes ( creamy sauce with almonds or cachous)

Can you feel a difference between, say, 3 months raw, 6 months raw, one year, or more, or is there a "plateau" somewhere ? As if nothing more is happening in terms of health and well-being?
I think maybe one could have the more intense detox in the beginnings and then not much more improvements after?
Thank you for sharing
Blessings to you all,
Cynthia

I hear you. Yes it's like that. we become more sensitive so we have to be careful to eat food that loves us, not food we were used to love. Big difference as love always has to be both ways.
hope you feel better soon

118. Re: the Vedas
Soma, as written and explained in the Vedas, seems a plant or something like that but this a litterary expression. Soma, say some wise persons and holy men, is the by-product of our own digestion, when of course our body is completely purified and holy temple of god. Then the fine perceptions come to us. That's all I know. My questionning is how could we expect to have or develop that fine level

Hi Max,
Are you raw since a long time?
Just to let you know there is a raw group in Montreal, meetings are once a month ( google raw potluck montreal). Nice gathering and great people. And food is delicious of course.

120. Re: the Vedas
If we acknowledge the vedas as the vibrations of nature itself, then we should find the ultimate truth in it.
Of course any written book has its author's color and preferences, and depending of times, it can say everything... BUT the vedas are not supposed to be man written (ok, now they have been put down on paper , and translated, I meant at the start. Maybe the flaw creeped in from ordinary
