I have been battling with this same question! Thanks for asking it and thanks to the rest of you that answered it. I am working through my third week of 80% raw now. I had a craving on Monday and gave into it, eating only 1/3 of the portion I ordered, plus a green salad. I have to tell I was SOOOOO sick all night long I will probably never eat mac and cheese again. Also I found when I actual

I would also suggest surgical steel, it is the only thing I wear in my piercings. I can get away with sterling in my ears and high% gold, but not for long. I would also suggest going to a reputable piercing shop and asking them what they use for an antiseptic when they send the new pierced home.

Again thank you guys for being here! This is a great conversation that I have learned a lot from. I am working on week 2 of 80% raw, still eating some cooked foods at the family meal, but they don't sit well with me! For 4 weeks prior I was about 35% raw. For me I am still trying to discern what is going to work best for me and my body. I'm drawn to veganism for heath reasons, but I am also l

I too was wondering about this. I have been working towards more and more raw eating. I started out with replacing my normal cooked lunch with a huge colorful salad, based on organic greens. Also any snacking is on raw fruit. My next step is replacing my cook and/or heavily processed breakfast with a green smoothie. So far I love the green smoothies. While my dinner is cooked or at least part

I don't vaccinate my animals after they are 2 years old for anything but rabies. This is after their first round of puppy shots and one set of boosters. I only vaccinate for rabies because they wont take a titer to cross the Canadian border. I show my dogs so I get titers pulled on them which my sports governing body will take in place of vaccines. This is the same for my cat, she is indoor o

Thought I would toss this out for a question. I know freezing changes produce but was wondering if any of you freeze some of your produce. I have A LOT of farms around here that produce berries(organic) as well as peaches and it would be much more affordable and sustainable for me to pick my own at the U Pick and freeze. Other than the obvious it has been frozen any reasons why not? Anyone ha

Thank you very much. I'm shooting for 1500. I think if I double my morning smoothie, I should be much closer. Also if I actually eat lunch, unlike yesterday, I will be much closer. This will also keep the fat content down. Yesterday I was at 25% fat. I'm trying to watch the nut intake, but they seem to a on the go convenience and I am trying to branch out. Sprouts seem to be magical.

I'm about closing in on the 5 day mark and I have developed a routine. I'm keeping track of food in a journal and I just switched to FitDay. I was floored at how few calories I am taking in, particularly today. I took in 800 and worked my physical labor job. Had a smoothie heavy on the greens plus some fruit 1qt for breakfast and had a banana for lunch as that was all time permitted and all

Thanks for the tips. I often have to stop to pick up more raw for the dogs and am pretty handy about finding a grocery mart. I have a feeling I will eat more fruit while in these trips since I can bring whole apples, bananas and the like, greens don't keep well, so I will make a point of finding places that have awesome salads/salad bars. I'm heading to rural ID for 4 days to work a friend's s

Jodi, Thanks! Fortunately I live in a part of Seattle where I actually have a house and a yard! I did live in am apartment with two Border Collies for a few years and that was tough. Lucky I have country friends and I still work the dogs on sheep so it keeps me in touch with the earth. Have some swell friends that run organic farms, producing produce, eggs and meat and certified organic. I

I'm just getting into this way of eating. Until I lived in the city I pretty much grew everything I ate including meat. City life on this country girl has been a change! I have fed raw to my dogs and cat for ages and just crated a raw diet for my parrot. I got around to thinking one day if my pets benefit so much from this, what about me? Then I did some research and here I am. I've starte

It is a giant thistle and I give mad props to the guy that tried one in the beginning. Did you try the heart raw? I can't imagine a juicer tough enough to run one through! Erin

Hey I have a few questions and want some feed back. I was a vegetarian for a long time and even toyed with vegan-ism. But I had 2 huge problems with it both forms of eating. 1 I always felt hungry and my blood sugar had a hard time staying level. I would get what I call psyco-glycemic. So I solved this by grazing all the time, which just drove me crazy cuz I don't have time to feed my face

I'm just converting to the raw lifestyle, I'm aiming for two meals a day for now. It is a change for me for sure, I'm on a "healthy' version of the SAD. I'm doing good and have good support. I was a vegetarian for a long time, but always felt empty when I did hard physical labor unless I ate eggs or cheese. I travel a lot from Feb-Oct. I'm on the road for 4-10 days at a time in my car of
