just logging this for my own journaling purpose...I started my "raw food trial" January 1st and have learned so much. I've found hidden food allergies and recognized many of my symptoms as being reactions. I've broken my sugar addiction which resulted in some more awful symptoms, therefore great improvements as well. I've learned that I am anemic and have low cortisol and other low nu

VEry interesting Cora, and glad you found relief I've read a bit about EFT and have planned on looking more into it. Powerlifter, what you say rings true for me as well. I think most people would consider me positive and uplifting, as i dont like to drag people down or wear my feelings on my sleeve, but truth be told I am always constantly worried about something, everything, or nothing at a

Just discussing this on another thread, and wondering what do all of you do when you need to adjust your outlook on certain situations in life?

Prolonged stress also led to my adrenal problems. It can be a vicious cycle because we often self medicate, usually with caffiene and alcohol to get through the stress, and on and on it goes from there. Having a positive mental outlook a huge piece of the puzzle. It's just as hard to get going in the morning when were down as it is before coffee!

food is very emotional. try to do other things that make you feel god emotionally. embrace cooking (preparing) good food, get a massage, manicure, etc...it will lessen. Have you made raw balls? they are sweet and satisfying.

After a good amount of searching for a specifically raw foods forum, I landed at this one because it is generally kind, balanced and informative. I would have to admit that it can be a bit intimidating at times. Still, I've received some great support here.

So just how tall are you as an adult? I was 5'10" at 12 yrs. old but, that's where I stopped. It was hard because peeps thought I was older and expected more of me. Also because I thought I was Fat. My daughter is running the same at 10 yes old and she is the most beautiful creature I know! She is proud to be tall too. If only I had known I looked like she does! Tall and lean! Powerli

Hi Deborah. I am new to this too. I like to have a simple green smoothie every morning, bananas strawberries and spinach, and a really nice salad every day with olive oil and lemon juice, and as many pieces of raw fruits and veggies as I need. I've learned to go easy on nuts and seeds and not to buy too much produce at one time. Also don't suggest you run out and purchase any equipment, suppleme

Among all of the raw food communities, this one in my opinion is the kindest. Also the most informative, with more fact and less opinion being shared. There are quite a few long timers here which is most appreciated by us newbies.

I think there is something to be said for differing physical and emotional makeups among people. Some can eat on piece of chocolate while others binge, same with alcohol and other foods. Maybe cleanses are good for some, as a kickstart and highly motivating for the long haul, but i think many people are set up for failure with that approach.. Those folks need balance, slow and steady, one day

You know, eliminating things gradually, sugar this week, white flour next month, dairy products, eggs, meat, alcohol, caffeine, say within the next year...this is a form of detox. Especially if you add in juices, smoothies, salads, raw fruits, veggies whenever possible and a bit of exercise. Personally, my efforts are sabotaged by cleanses. I do much better taking a positive approach by focusing o

Thanks. I've taken a couple of those herbs individually but never combined with the level of dietary cleanliness I have now. Are they available in a combo form. Maybe a bottle of all good herbs combined just for me???

Ok, I still drink my morning coffee but tea later on. I love rooibos chai and mate. Hot tea is lighter, easier on my stomach and my adrenals and emotionally satisfying. Coffee is just a good jolt of caffeine to get me on my roller coaster in the morning. I aspire to be a tea only person for now. Although hot lemon water is wonderful

Fast/feast...I get it, but for a lack of a better term...different places in the journey call for differing levels of consumption. Many on the SAD can barely choke down a salad with iceberg lettuce. Others can eat different percentages of raw foods and feel great. Personally, I ate a very healthy vegan diet for a year and still felt toxic. I went raw and still felt poisoned. I cut out nuts an

Simple green smoothies make me feel awesome! They are like the secret my body has been looking for. (as if that is not dramatic!) would you guys recommend a smoothie fast? If so, for how long? I am just trying to kick things up a notch.

very interesting Klomasius...it also seems we would rid our bodies of these chemicals much quicker because they are not contained in the undigested animal products that stay in our bodies for much longer than fruit, and also because we are thinner, less body fat to store these toxins in.

Oh Trive, they are so cute I can't stand it! Yes, just letting folks know you feel better this way seems to quiet those who are just starting trouble. If someone is sincere and really wants to know, or wants help themselves, then you know how to speak to them. Others don't try to justify their diet to people so why should we?

Well, I was kind of joking. Yes, I love coffee, that first cup in the morning is in my opinion awesome, then after that not so much. I have reflected on the fact that coffee really is bitter and caustic tasting, leaves bad breathe, jitters and an upset tummy. Its pretty crazy that we have aquired such a taste for it. Pretty darn crazy! Weaning is my preferred method of detox, unless I could g

I am still highly addicted to coffee, but am working on it:-O When I shifted over to this raw foods deal I found that even early in the day coffeee keeps me up at night. Not sure why drinking a cup o joe would lead to eating cooked foods, but sympathize with you when it comes to obsessing about every little thing you eat and drink. It's hard to make this just a way of life and not an obsession
