Hey guys, This is my first week of completely raw food and I've been following a couple of cookbooks (or uncookbooks). My question is, can you eat too many nuts and seeds? For example, for breakfast one day, I made a soaked nuts granola that used 1/2 cup almonds, 1/2 cup walnuts, and 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, soaked, with 1/2 cup almond milk. Then later on I had zucchini spaghetti with no-meat

Hey, I'm new to the raw food lifestyle as well. And I know what you mean by being hungry a little while after having your breakfast smoothly. Personally, and I know some people on these boards will disagree, I think there's nothing wrong with adding protein to your smoothy. Adding nuts is great, or use a protein powder. I really like Spiru-Tein mixes. I know, I know, it's not raw food, but while

Good for you for trying it. It just goes to show that you can't say you HATE anything, you just might not like the way it's prepared. When I was younger, I hated spinach, but it was because I always just had it from the can, Yuck! But now I love it, (fresh of course). I encourage everybody to try a food several different ways before saying they HATE it. I'm sure there's a way you'll like it.

Hi there, I also have a question about the Vitamix blenders. I'm new to the raw foods lifestyle, so I would appreciate any input. I was looking at buying a Vita-Prep 3, however, I wonder if I really need that much power. I have a great food processor and a grain mill that can turn any nuts or seeds into a fine powder. I don't plan on really using my vitamix for anything but green smoothies, an

I have the same reaction when I just eat a lot of carrot and celery sticks (my favorite snack). Some days are just fine, some days they make my stomach really upset. It must be a digestion thing. Too much acid, not enough, etc.? I'm discoving that becoming a raw foodist, you pretty much have to become a nutritionist as well.

I've been vegetarian for over 10 years now. I'm currently changing over to completely raw foods. I believe that everyone should decide what journey is right for them, but I can't help but feel a little upset when the person I love the most, my husband, chooses to eat pure crap whenever he gets the chance. If I put down a nice, healthy meal in front of him, he'll take a few nibbles, say he's fu

Are you sure you're getting colds and not just allergies? Many allergic reactions look like, or rather feel like, colds. Prehaps you're allergic to cats, to pollen, to your laundry detergent, etc. Just a thought.

Hi Guys, I'm looking into buying a hydroponic indoor gardening system. I want a year-round supply of veggies, greens and herbs, not just when the weather permits in the summer months. After doing some web browsing, I found the start up costs for the size that I want, seems to be in the $2,000 dollar range. It seems like it will easily pay for itself since the cost of organic produce at the sto
