You might be interested in reading 80/10/10 by Doug Graham. That's the popular raw athlete book. However, it only works if you actually do the training, which is really intense. I agree with JS about calories, some people are obsessed with them and are really just too afraid and/or not yet educated enough to but in the intense work which is their potential. But, I've skimmed through Douggy'

Yes! Avocado is pretty rockin in there... also, some lemon/lime juice. Curry is a good idea. All the flavors are mixed together and it tastes great, along with being easier to digest. I make mine in my food processer. This way I can "partially" blend it, maybe 60-70%. I like it this way, and it still offers itself to chewing. Another good thing to do is put the blended salad

Yes, I think the point is we are all a little bit crazy. Just in different areas. And we all just need to help and love one another as best we can. For instance, perhaps someone is orthorexic, but they are a dependable friend, whereas someone else might eat "right", but they are selfish and unreliable. Or, my friend who I was talking about might be a little socially awkward but he i

Find a Champion on Craigslist! I live in Philadelphia and they pop up all the time for the $60 range. Although if you don't see one in your area, you could check nearby cities, the savings might be worth the drive.

I think thats just a matter of syntax - I am pretty sure we aggree though. I have one friend who at first seems retarded because of the way he talks and moves, but is actually quite bright. He gets treated differently quite often just because of that.

Perhaps raw vegan is the human's "natural diet" only in the human's "natural habitat". If the human wouldn't be able to survive in a certain region naturally, they might have to adapt their diet just like everything else.

Well, mental illness is more involved with the brain, and the brain is extremely complex. Many mental disorders are crippling, while health concious eating is liberating. I think that people can be discriminatory against the mentally ill, but to pass them off as just different would be to deny them the care and services which might help. I think it's a little bit more than thinking differently

I have this one. It is awesome. Really easy to milk, really easy to clean. Big. Before this I used one that was more of a cloth-like material, and that one was more easily clogged and also absorbed milk which made it harder to clean and smell really bad after a week or two (at which point I had to bleach it). I recommend this one, or some other polyester bag. That website has some sprouting

Both of those guys almost died from IBS and healed themselves with dietary change. Now, Jordin Rubin is not raw or vegan, but I suppose he could be classified as "high raw" and eats such animal products such as goats milk, cheese, lamb, etc. but very high quality. Paul Nison is raw vegan, and he is the man. He has a book called "Healing Inflammitory Bowl Disease" which I gu

HK, I am assuming that you have read the works of Paul Nison and Jordin Rubin? they have both overcome similar conditions to yours. I find both of their works very insightful.

Ha, oh wow. Well I guess a psychological addiction could develop for anything, however this seems much more rare than a food addiction, that was my point... thanks for the interesting link I suppose tha I should revise my orignal statement to say that drink as much waster as you feel like you need until your urine is a very pale yellow or clear, which indicates that you are sufficiently hydra

The great thing about water is that it doesn't lie to you. I've never heard of someone overdrinking on water, or being addicted to it. If you're thirsty, definately drink some because thirst is the first sign of dehydration. Other than that, you could go by the color of your urine, which should be clear if you are fully hydrated.

Ok, I watched the video, and I must concede that what he says makes sense. I'm not quite sure about the melting point he's talking about, since coconut oil as a whole becomes liquid much cooler than that (77 is what I found). However, perhaps some of the smaller elements still remain solid, I'm not sure how that works. I can also reason that coconut oil might not be "ideal" as he s

I re-read the initial question, and saw another part about chewing that I don't believe has yet been addressed. "Chewing sufficiently" would not be the same as soaking. Soaking mimics the natural process of the nut/seed entering moist soil and beginning to grow. Up until that point, its inhibitors have been preventing growth but once in the ground they are shed. Its a process. Li

I don't know about the science, but I think most people agree that its hard to "feel" how much nuts is enough. They are not as immediately satisfying as fruit or greens. It could be difficult to make a meal of them. Most, I think, would tend to overeat on them but not be able to feel it until later. I personally cannot be satisfied with just nuts. They are great on a salid though,

I don't want to change the subject too much, but my understanding is that peanuts are not actually nuts, but legumes (sort of like a bean), and are therefore toxic when raw (as are most beans). That is why you can't purchase raw peanuts in the store as you can raw almonds, walnuts, etc. Even the ones you buy in shells are rosted. Is this correct, or no?

Ah, you are right, I do not know exactly the nutritional differences. I just know that they are easier to digest soaked, which makes me feel less tired later. And they mix better in recipes.

Well how do you define "need"? If need=what's best, then you should soak them. However just eating a few unsoaked per day probably won't make you feel much different vs. soaked.

WY, Coconut oil freezes at 77 degrees F. Since your body is 98F, its solidifying nature is not an issue. If your body temp is down to 77, you have bigger problems on your hand then how much coconut oil you are eating, lol

ah, Maria, I feel for you. My friend was throwing up so hard that he shot a blood vessel in his eye. There's actually a study out there somewhere where various sets of rats are fed different kinds of raw beans. Toxicity is measured by level of growth in the rats. Rats fed no raw beans were the biggest, rats fed some smaller kinds of raw beans like chickpeas were smaller, and rats fed pinto/

I soak all nuts I use for recipes. I generally don't soak the ones I put on salads or something. Although, I hear if you soak them then dehydrate them, it removes the inhibitors, keeps them crispy, and might even improve the flavor.

If you soak/sprout the chickpeas, they they will become soft and you can make hummus from them, yes. However, be careful because raw beans are toxic. Check it out here: The worst ones are red kidney beans and all its relatives (i.e. pinto). My friend tried to make tacos with raw pinto beans and he threw it up later that night. Now, chickpeas aren't as bad but raw hummus is notorious f
