Johnsonandtheshits.....No, I'm not worried about Essential Fatty Acids. I'm going with what He 'told' me to do.......Wheatgrass Juice 3 times a day and Carrot-Celery Juice twice a day making a total of one gallon, plus additional water. The 'Key' to the whole program is the Green Juice. For some reason that 'magic number' is said to be 92-days of Juice Feasting, but I don't see why it couldn't be

I have a question for kwan (Sharrhan).....You're juicing a lot of carrots....just curious....What kind of juicer do you have? And do you like it? That JuiceFeasting idea of Archaeopteryx looks like an excellent idea. I'm considering living on Wheatgrass juice and Carrot-Celery juice, in large amounts......WY

The Champion Juicer has been virtually 'unchanged' for the last 40 or 50 years. I've owned several over the years and have been witness to two others that a friend owns. However, it's not the best juicer. If you're juicing Greens and Apples, I'd recommend a low RPM, single-auger juicer like the Omega 8003, or 8005, or the Samson 6 in 1. However, they are rather Loud. If you're juicing a large am

The Dry Blade is for grinding grain and kneading dough. It comes standard with the Vita-Mix Super 5000. I didn't need that feature so I bought the Vita-Mix 5000 with just the Wet Blade......WY

This yield chart, taking 160 hours to complete, shows the "Marathon Juicer" twin-gear to be the best of them all. Of course, Marathon paid for the independent study. "The proof of the pudding is in the eating". I have one 'on the way' to test for myself......WY

Forrest.....My white Vita-Mix 5000 has faded a little, but it's not too bad. You can buy a reconditioned model for $329, if I remember correctly. Also, you might find one on eBay for a lot less, but then again, you can't be sure of what you're getting. I'd recommend buying a new one from Vita-Mix and just paying the $399. That's what I did many years ago. The price has stayed the same for as long

I just ordered a twin-gear juicer called the "Marathon Juicer". I'm going to try it for making my Carrot-Celery Juice. It looks a little sturdier, with more power, than the other twin-gears on the market. Plus, it looks like it'll be much easier to clean (something I didn't like with my past twin-gears). I'll let everyone know how I like it......WY

One of the Blendtec's selling features is that it's 'short' enough to fit under kitchen wall cabinets. But that would mean having to pull it out and push it back everytime it's used. No big deal really, but I like my 'tall' Vita-Mix in its permanent location.......WY

Yeh.....Beets are good but they stain everything they touch. They're strong too, turning the urine a 'funny' color and causing a strange sensation in the throat. I have a Love-Hate relationship with beets. Beets, or carrots, helped Norman Walker invent his Juice Press, when he noticed that they "Bled" when cut......WY

Put your pulp in the Garden. My Fruit Trees and Roses grow like 'crazy' from my carrot and wheatgrass pulp. People are always commenting about my roses being in 'full bloom' all the time. If you want to eat a little pulp, prepare a Smoothie in your blender.....WY

I Stand corrected!! My friend told me that her use of Lemons, without rinsing afterwards, when she was much younger, caused tooth enamel erosion, but no discoloration. LikeItOrNot......I've tried the Master Cleanser's Salt Water Flush too. I've had mixed results and have decided that it's best not to put salt, of any form, into my body. Even the sea vegetable Dulse, causes Fluid Retention.....WY

For kidney cleansing, I like water best of all. Wheatgrass, Grapefruit, Orange, and Carrot juices are good too. The 'thinner' the juice, the more cleansing effect is has, so you might consider diluting some of your juices with water ......WY

I'm just starting a Juice Diet. Yes, they are easy (as SiennalnLondon mentioned), especially if you include carrot juice (very filling). I've found that taking Oxy-Powder, 1 to 3 times a day, along with the juice, enhances the experience. Don't forget the Wheatgrass Juice.....WY P.S. I have a friend who used to eat Lemons all the time and they turned her teeth dark.

I used to own a Norwalk Press Juicer and hated it. Hate is a strong word....maybe 'disliked it' would be better. To get it to work, the produce has to be 'triturated' in the grinder attachment, then put into plastic bags (or cloths) and then pressed out to make the juice. It's one big mess. Plus I always got a plastic 'taste' in the juice from the bags. I made several phone calls to the President

My Vita-Mix gets 'stuck' too. Try cutting up the produce into smaller pieces. Sapphire gives good advice about putting the harder pieces in first. One Trick I use that works every time......when your blades are just 'spinning' and not blending, take the cannister off the motor base and 'slap' it down on your hand to 'push' everything down, then continue blending. Enjoy.....WY

flex4life......Your Hamilton Beach juicer should juice carrots, celery, etc. but not wheatgrass. As far as drinking wheatgrass goes for health benefits, it'll not make any change in your life by itself (unless you drank very large amounts). You'll have to improve your other dietary habits as well. Try living on wheatgrass juice, carrot-celery juice, and fruit smoothies for a while and you'll beg

Yes, Flex, that HealthyJuicer might make a good starting point. The price is right too. However, I'm not sure the plastic would hold up with continuous use. You might even be able to juice celery and carrots with it if you cut them up first. I started with a manual juicer called Back-to-Basics many years ago. It was all stainless steel and less than $100......WY

Good Luck with your Vita-Mix. I hope yours serves you as well as mine has me over the years. Wheatgrass should be juiced, not blended. The blades of grass contain sharp fibers that you wouldn't want to pass through your body. Chew on the grass, if you like, but spit out the pulp. The best juicer for wheatgrass is a single-auger model. They 'squeeze' the juice out of the grass, leaving the pulp

I was outbid on eBay by a Professional Shopper (with 179 purchases). My name with 0 purchases looked mighty puny next to his. The winning bid was $193.27. It was a fair price, as I remember paying about $250 for the identical model.....WY

I just found this Wheateena Green Label on eBay. It's the exact model that I'm using now. I'm going to bid $95.00 for it and use it as a backup. If anyone wants to outbid me, you're welcome to it. It's a nice little juicer but only good for wheatgrass.......WY

Yes, growing your own wheatgrass is the only way to go. You can control the nutrition you get. I sometimes get the white mossy web you mentioned at the base of my wheatgrass. I suspect it's from too much moisture, and crowding the wheat berries, when you plant. Try using a little less seed and more ventilation. I grow mine under a ceiling fan......WY

Yes, composting the mats after cutting and juicing the wheatgrass has always been a problem of mine too. There's only so much soil compost one can use. I wish there was a solution. I've been putting mine out with the household garbage every Wednesday and Saturday. Now Carrot pulp is another matter. After carrot juicing (and wheatgrass juicing), I pour the pulp at the base of my trees and plants.
