My experience with red bananas is when you think they're ripe, THEY'RE NOT. Wait until they give when you lightly squeeze them.

It sounds like you let them sprout too long and they went rancid. Once they grow the little tails, they're pretty much done germinating, and have a higher susceptibility to go bad if you continue to soak them.

1. Not everyone adheres to the same set of beliefs in raw food. It's sort of like a political party that everyone deviates from in their own way. You are free to eat whatever raw foods you'd like as long as, obviously, they're raw. Plenty of people eat bananas, carrots, and raw (usually sprouted) nuts. I would advise that you eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible and less items that

Wow, that's alls o weird. Kasegretto, I'm planning on going to your session on July 21st, and rainbowgrl, I never knew you lived in downtown Albany. I'm in Schenectady, hahaha.

I'm from near Albany, moreso fruitarian than green, though. You can PM me or go to my rawfood site if you want.

It's sad, I remember when I was little, my mom belonged to a cooperative and got fresh organic vegetables every month. I tried a blood orange for the first time then. And now she doesn't do it anymore, everyone in my family pretty much eats SAD vegetarian stuff. But Bryan, thanks so much for that. I'm going to look into membership at my local Co-Op and see if I can get wholesale prices on thin

I don't find grains to be appealing at all. They're bland, have a weird texture, and really drying. That's just my opinion, though... I think once you cessate eating them, you can forget about them very easily.

105. Re: why
You can still eat sushi. A lot of people sprout their rice, I don't, personally, but I know it's far healthier than eating boiled white rice if you sprout brown rice. Others substitute minced turnips (or any root vegetable) for rice when they make raw sushi. You put that and any desired vegetables, usually some avocado, on an unroasted nori sheet and roll it up. When I used to make it I couldn't

There is a school that someone who's going to speak at my local Co-Op graduated from called the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, I think. It's in New York City. I'm probably going to apply there if I decide to study nutrition, although I really wanted to move somewhere tropical. !

You always find the best articles, Bryan. I'm going to switch up my diet so I eat far less commercial produce...it's so expensive to have organic, but I think I'm going to ask for some gardening products for my birthday so I can have my own.

Yeah, I'm afraid that if I try durian and like it then I won't be able to get it for a long time. Oh, well.

First off, I was looking to buy a durian online because I really don't want to drive all the way to New York City to spend the day trying new fruits, I'd rather just purchase one. I found a site called Panoramic growers and they (rather coldly) state many times that they have no fruit available for sale to the United States, and all of their mangosteen goes to Melissa's and some place in New York

Definitely add in avocado, coconut, raw nuts/butters, seeds, "cold-pressed" oils, bananas, mangos, dehydrated fruits & vegetables, and sprouted grains & legumes. You're transitioning so I don't feel guilty about advising you to eat things I don't eat, but then again I'm sort of a fruitarian, so I don't eat a lot of the stuff that is considered raw.

I never feel sluggish from avocados, I think you'd have to eat a lot of them to feel that effect, or it could be your metabolism. I've read a lot of literature about people feeling the same way as you do, although they ate more like 5 or 6 a day. Some people can't utilize fats as well as others because their bodies take longer to process them. Just exercise if you find yourself in that situation,

I experimented with the cessation of salt-eating. My skin looks better, I had two scrapes on my knees that healed faster than usual, I'm less hungry, and I oftentimes crave salt but don't give in. Last night I used some salt and it was a small amount, so nothing happened, but I don't feel like eating it anymore, because I've always known it was bad. If it makes you bloat, dries you up, and adds t

I found out that the migraines I get, the cystic lesions in my brain, and the sparks I sometimes see in my vision are all side effects of aspartame. I wish someone would do a proper study and put these companies out of business.

I had no idea aspartame caused as much as it did. Does anyone suffer (or has suffered) from aspartame side effects? And what do you to detox from it?
