Panchito, It sounds like the product did something for you. Rab, I know you addressed powerlifter. But I just eat kelp as is. But in Japanese resturants they put seseame oil on top, and that tastes good. There are a number of raw recipes which use nori as a wrap. I and my partner really like dulse and eat it as is. But I remember trying a recipe which mixed it in a salad with cucumber, red

Yes, my mother takes high dosage calcium carbonate, or at least she use to. In addition to drinking several glasses of milk each day. All believing that this would help keep her bones healthy. I personally felt very scared of her doing that, and taking conventional nutritional ideas without a second thought. My mother in law the same thing. She fractured a bone, and has been taking calcium ca

I really like radish and cucumber kimchee, so maybe that is an alternative. But perhaps you should maked your own,as a lot of korean places use msg and no vegan products when they make kimchee.

Panchito, This is your experience with lugols iodine solution? How is it produced? I had some kelp today, and the packaging says a serving has 20 times the iodine recommened daily. Whatever that means. I just find it curious that such things can be printed for the general public. They don't know my iodine status, so how do they know how much I need at a particular point in time? I don't know

I found this video, and its very thought provoking and interesting for me. I am not sure I believe everything, but I love these sort of things. But I imagine that it doesn't resonate with everyone.

Wow, this post really brings up issues for me. I remember going to go see a movie when these 3 really large teenagers sat in front of me. I didn't stop to think that perhaps the movie was aimed primarily for a younger crowd than myself. It was also a kind of movie which would have attracted gang members and a rough crowd. I am not sure that I would go that movie now, I am in a totally differe

Panchito, I am not sure what your reasoning is, but to some extent it could be true. Depending on the point of view. If one lives a somewhat sheltered life, low stress, and have does no heavy labor probably most people will live longer. Provided that they have reasonable mental health, adaquate but not excessive nutrition, moderate living, reasonable sanitation etc. Some look to medical care

He thinks that the beverage won't kill weeds. I also am going to try sugar substitutes in a few areas. I haven't looked yet, but maybe this time wasn't the best timing. It rained really hard last night, so its probably washed everything away.

Rawplease, Well, when it comes to food the conflict can go both ways. I am sorry to say that I have observed some less than ideal behavior on behalf of vegans. But I think you are correct it could be a function of personality faults which have little to do with food. But these can cross over to be expressed at the table.

I have never eaten the seeds, although some people eat them. I found them too unappealing. Some people say they have eaten the skin. Not for me.

Raw4ever, Well, it was in a small town not far from Canada. I have bought some dragonfruit and logans etc in vancouver of good quality, and much less price than the $14. This was a special treat, and we didn't feel like taking a drive. The quality of the fruit was very good, and I don't remember if it was supposed to be organic or not. The typical person in that town would never spend that m

Hello everyone, Just today I read a source that said a certain bottled beverage has so much pesticide residue that some people in the world were using it as pesticide to grow crops! I was just shocked. Its nothing I drink, as I knew that it wasn't good, but had no idea it was that bad. So, I was thinking what about controling crabgrass and other weeds? Our driveway and parking lot has grass

I think the water quality varies from location to location. But most tap waters are less than the best for people to drink. I once lived in a city with water that was completely undrinkable, even by conventional standards. The city actually told residents NOT to drink it, but use it for showering and cleaning etc...It had arsenic in it, and sulfur way above what was allowable for drinking. A

Tamuhka, Actually, I was thinking that the K2 in the mk4 form issue for vegans is an unknown without studies. But who will objectively study? All I was thinking is that maybe for the people who were studied K2 in MK4 was necessary. Sure if one is eating a lot of meat, processed foods, and cooked items, maybe their enzyme systems aren't functioning, or functioning differently. Otherwise maybe the

I often wondered about that, and have included items in my diet that I know are supposed to be excellent sources of k2 in the MK4 form. I am not sure if its helped me to achieve and maintain health. Granted I have been eating some foods which are not great for health. A skeptical part of me wonders if these studies are unbiased. Perhaps the overall physiology of a raw vegan changes, and perha

Banana who, I don't think of myself fat phobic. I am not afraid to eat an entire avocado in one sitting if I am in the mood. It kind of pushes my buttons to hear people say bad things about avocado because "it has fat" or 'it makes me fat'. The last time I heard that was from this woman eating a plate of french fries. I read something similiar in a magazine, I think primarily aimed

I haven't seen her in awhile, I usually see her shopping. I should ask my partner if hes see her lately. I don't remember ever seeing her using a cane or a walker. Shes very slim. And yes, shes not a jerk. But definately energetic and opinionated, but I think open to new ideas. Very much different from my mil. I don't remember her getting too detailed about her ideas on food, except she avoid

Bannana who, Sometimes the health nuts are very interesting. Sometimes its doesn't seem entirely correct, but maybe they have a few things right. When I got a free blood pressure check I met an elderly woman who seems to take a lot of supplements, and herbs. Very well versed in nutrition, at least from a largely conventional point of view. I don't know many 90 year olds that shovel their o

Trive, I love dragon fruit. I don't know who describes these things. The one I had was creamy, refreshing, and sweet. I had the reddish purple one, I even like that one better. I don't often see them, and usually kind of pricey, but worth it for a special occation. The last one I had was on my birthday.

I remember the character in 'welcome back carter'. or kotter whatever it is. My friend met him in person. Its strange but all he wanted to talk about with him was how unfair it was that John Travolta was so handsome and got all the attention. He was a great guy. When I saw his photo I immediately remembered "horshack' and his cute voice. I remember, but he never knew how much people like him

I just look forward to the day that I can eat a bowl of fruit for lunch in public, without someone asking me if"'Thats all your having?!!!" I was asked that today. He wanted to know 'why'. I was fool enough to answer. It was because I bought a lot of fruit! I don't have to answer anything. I will have a repeat tommarrow. I actually felt quite satisfied with the meal. It was also a lo

Rab, Interesting, how and why do any of your SAD people know anything about raw, without being raw themselves? Something about that seems really odd. Some peoples idea of eating healthy strikes me as odd. Probably stuff you already know and understand. I heard something recently that made me feel hopeful. Health is what you body gravitates toward! its its natural desire. We just have to not

Rab, I am not doubting the information about processed food at all. My partners family seems to eat a lot of it, and well, they aren't too healthy. They don't live exclusively on it, but there are days where I think my mil eats only processed and cooked. Maybe those are the days she is particularly difficult to get a long with. Unprocessed, but cooked food might be better than processed and
