My blender is broken (sigh, I killed it trying to puree nuts), but I do have a good juicer and a dehydrator. It'll be a while before I get a new blender. With that said, what would be a good ratio of how much food one should receive from liquid state. I feel like I could get carried away and then I fear if I tried to digest whole foods, my digestive system couldn't handle it. Does that make a

Today is day one for me (again) as well. Starting off momentarily with some juicing:-) Rawlion--your posts are extremely motivating. I hope to keep seeing your posts as I get going on this.
I've got rheumatoid arthritis issues (ok...others too, but this is the priority) and I really want to be able to move with the kids. Some mornings I can't even walk. Wish me luck.
PS...the last ti

I've just started getting into juicing. Yesterday I made 2 juice drinks and this morning I made one. They are all essentially the same of mostly carrot, a tomato and a couple apples.
My chest this morning feels like I'm going to have a panic attack. I feel shaky and weird all over. I had a handful of walnuts just now and it feels a bit smoothed over, which is why I'm wondering if I've had

to the OP, in addition to what others have to say....are you 100% certain that you aren't vit.D deficient? I have to take about 2000IU of supplement in the winter to "survive and thrive" and I know people who take over 10,000IU. There's a lot of new research (holistic research) showing that most people are vit. D deficient and meeting RDA doesn't even come close to what we need. If y

well, I'm thinking....if everything I run through my juicer adds up to say 300 calories before I run it, are all the cals in the fiber or not? By juicing would I bring my cals down to 250 or 100...it's a difference when I'm trying to keep up the cals, but not go overboard on them, you know?

does anyone know how to figure for calorie chaanges when you juice? I want to juice some kale, apple, lemon, and celery and am wondering how many calories I'll cut out by doing this....oddly, I'm not wanting to lose many-I've already drastically reduced my caloric intake.
sarah
I know some of you don't agree with juicing...that's not my question. I'm just wondering about the calories.

I can't tell you what to do (you have to make that choice), but I can tell you where to get good information (as I do not vaccinate myself or my children). The first place I would go is to an alternative health care provider, like a holistic chiropractor. Generally speaking chiro's don't believe in vaccinations. Depending on who you talk to, you might find info on travelling to Malaysia.

couple questions...what is 80/10/10? (and other ratios)?
secondly, I normally wouldn't mind some detox symptoms, but if it came at me full force, I'd lose my mind--quite literally. I'm already a stress case(disolving marriage and trying to manage these small children with LITERALLY NO HELP) , so being afraid of detox isn't irrational to me...I want to be healthier, but I don't want to get dep

13. ckd. food toxic?
I posted this on another site, wanted lots of answers so I'll post here too.
This is kind of a spin-off of another thread on "why is raw better than cooked"...I just wanted some clarity (although, obviously, I believe the claim that raw is better--even FDA says raw veggies better nutritionally than cooked etc.)
for example....take a veggie like broccoli. It has calcium in it. If y

What about amino acids. I might be out in left field here, but this is my understanding. Aren't there like 12 amino acids and a "complete protein" has them all-like in red meat. A vegetarian might get theirs from combining beans and rice. How might a raw vegan get them all?
thanks in advance!

thank you both! I think it all fell into a perfect reminder today when I thought I'd bid farewell to my beloved healthy vegan soup (cooked brown rice, lentils, veggies, broth, herbs) and about 20minutes later I felt like crap and I was so tired. You would think that any way they were served up these healthy foods would make you feel great and give you lots of energy....you would think.
