Lots of delicious raw foods here. I just had a small slice of my tropical mango cake with a large mountain of vanilla bean ice cream. For breakfast. Again.

This is a genuine and unique raw forum indeed. It has quite a history too. When did it start? I was here first in 2003. Wow, time passed so quickly.

Greetings everyone. Good to connect with you and enjoy your company here. I am still in love with passion fruit. Had about 50 today. Got a box from a wholesaler a few days ago. I eat this fruit with passion.

v1 got eaten by a bug, so here is v2. I discovered that I am fond of passion fruit recently. So I got myself a box of it and have been enjoying it not in moderation. Also, I discovered that my favorite summer dessert, gets unbelievably decadent and yummy with the addition of passion fruit. Layers of vanilla bean banana ice cream, young berries and raspberries from my garden, topped up with

Aren't they? Boy Gorge is into raw, for example. Raw vegan is slowly catching and more and more people are raw, and we will see this more and more in the mainstream, including the 'elite'. I went camping to a small island near Hobart recently, and when I was checking whether they had any vegan salads at the little shop near the ferry at the island, the girl working there asked me whether I was a

Raw vegan is hard core by definition, I think. I am hard core too. It feels good be raw.

Thanks everyone for your responses. It is a rather compelling topic in my view, and I have observed a number of shifts in the popular view on this in the raw community, but I am not swayed by popular opinions. Personally, after my experience with raw and plenty of time to analyze the issue in and out, I gravitated towards raw being my keen preference. At the same time I think it is important to d

Well, I look forward to having cherries again. These are grown locally in Tasmania and so they are really good. I also have some cherry trees in our garden. A couple of baby trees, and one that is getting bigger. We might get some cherries this year. I will have to put the netting on or the birds will get them first.

SueZ, the article offers direct quotes and references. Using them, you can easily track more recent articles in the scientific literature, if you visit a scientific database such as Scopus, which I recommend and use frequently. I found some very interesting reads following these references, and might share them some other time.

Also, empirical sciences do not deliver the proofs. There are so many theories too. I once read a paper on human evolution and counted about 20 different theories on how we evolved...

TSM, please do not misinterpret the article. There is no claim made here that humans did not eat all sorts of things through their history. In fact, as I mentioned elsewhere, it is well established and accepted by science that they did, and I can easily pull out references on this (but feel no need). At the same time, the frugivorous ancestry of humans is also well accepted. Ancestry, means very

There is no need to argue. If you like a sproutarian diet, then follow it. If you like a fruit diet, then follow it. No need to try to convince others that they MUST follow a sproutarian diet, or they MUST follow a fruit diet. If you are really content with what you are doing, then you will be content with what others are doing too. This is a RAW food forum, which encompasses all raw diets. We c

Yes, Tassie (they way Tasmanians call it), has lots of beautiful places to hike and camp, and watch the wildlife and so on. I love falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. I look forward to holidays. Life has been so hectic here. Planting mango trees is a great plan!

Where are you getting your information from? Fruit are certainly good for us. Did you check out the references on any scientific database? Please do not rely on articles such as by Mericola or similar. These, despite their claims, do not contain scientific research but mere opinions. Refer to my recent post where I quoted the actual scientific paper, published in 2014, which clearly indicates tha

In my garden, various berries, really delicious (but not in season yet), apricot trees, peach trees, nectarine trees, cherry trees, a walnut tree, plum tree, apple tree, pear trees, fig trees. We do have a vine but has not been producing successfully. We do have a nana tree in the green house too, only leaves we have seen so far, and lots of baby nanas. We do get native hens visiting every day, f

Lucky you to enjoy jackfruit. Do you mean you planted it? Sounds wonderful. I live in Tasmania, an island that is certainly not a tropical place. There is a nice range of fruit growing here, but no jackfruit or other lovely tropical fruit. Go further North in Australia and things change.

Dear suncload Wow, this sounds really serious. I don't know what I would do. If I could, I would run away. Despite the fruit trees, I would not be keen on living in a risky place in the first place. What can poor people do? Where can they go? This is not an easy situation, and I hope that the community will look after those less fortunate. take care, Gosia
