Although I am losing weight pretty steadily (about half a kilo- a kilo per week), I am just not seeing it in my figure... Although my measurements are showing it in some places. This week, I lost an inch in my hips!! I feel like my hips look even wider though, but this might be because I didn't lose anything in my thighs and now my hips are narrower. I have no idea... All I know is that this week

There are nutrients in some food that are onloy absorbed by the body by cooking the foods. Tomatoes are one, and also, the betacaroten (sp?) in carrots can only be absorbed by the body when they have been cooked. xxpeisi

This is me doing something strange with my mouth. Being goofy!! Faerytale kisses As you can see, my husband is definately not overweight!! He actually tried being raw with me for a week about 2 years ago. But he started to lose weight and it freaked him out, so he decided that the lifestyle wasn't right for him. I didn't have a lot of skin problems when i was bigger, but I did

Ok, so I am nearing the end of day 1 of my orange fast. While I feel very good in the body, I am beginning to get a bit spacey. I had to time this fast according to my work, and I thought for a 3 day fast, it would be best to have the first day while I am working, so I can relax the two following days... Otherwise I would have starting on a saturday and finished off the orange fast on a monday,

Pakd4fun- I'm sorry about how I came across before. You should know that I agree with you- raw foods is extremely healthy and I am a vegan for both health and animal purposes. I just know how it feels to have people react strongly around me to my diet, and so I try to be mild, and assertive when I have to. There is no reason to get upset about being a vegan! We are doing a wonderful thing for our

I never said you should have to defend your diet. I was explaining why many people suspect that vegans have health problems. I am also not saying it is a vegans responsibility to make everyone feel secure with what they are eating. I am just explaining the consequence of history. I also do not believe that anyone, be it vegans, raw vegans or meat eaters, are free from all health problems jus

anna_elle- I think it is important for vegans to not get offended when others decide to eat meat because as soon as one beings acting defensive, it is usually a sign of insecurity. At least, it is often interpreted this way. Also, I think it is important to treat others the way you want to be treated. I don't advertise that I am a vegan IRL, and I talk about it very rarely with my husband.

The pain you are feeling shouldn't last longer than the rest of this week. It happens to everyone when they start to train. Even if I go on holiday for 2 weeks and then come back to delivering mail, I get the cramps in my butt. :s Well, when you are just starting, I would say- try lifting weights twice a week, spaced out evenly... I don't see a problem doing cardio every day, but... Be carefu

Rawgosia- if you are lifting weights at the gym, you should always have a day of rest inbetween sessions. When your muscles are hurting, it is because when you work them, they release an acid (stretching helps prevents the muscle pain afterwards). Your muscles form small tears and during your day of rest, the muscles heal these tears- this is how you build muscle. If you are only doing card

I eat about 7-10 portions of fruits each day, 3 in my breakfast smoothie, one with a large salad at lunch, 3 for my snack and one with my dinner usually. I have a large salad for lunch, and either another large salad for supper, or zuchinni pasta with raw tomato sauce... I eat a very small handful of sesame seeds each day as well as my fats. I don't drink green juices because... well, I am not

Hey guys!! Some of you might have read about the problem I had with my husband flipping out because I don't eat meat... We solved it, thank god. I was pretty surprised. He is a very special boy, my husband. He will all of a sudden get worried about something that isn't really "new". But I can't be mad at him for loving me and worrying. Also, the low fat thing is going pretty good

I disagree with fasting for weight loss. I think that is dangerous and could start up an eating disorder. Be very very careful with yourself if you decide to fast!! (I get worried when I hear people say they will stop eating for weight loss...) much love xxpeisi

My hubby is definately not overweight. He eats meat like a maniac and has the fittest body I have ever seen! Very slim and muscular. You would think, out of the two of us, that HE is the raw vegan, hehe. That is why he thinks what I am doing is dangerous. He just can't understand that meat doesn't make me feel as good as it makes him feel. Anyhow, an interesting side note- my kidney specialist

A tip from me: Eat a lot earlier in the day... You won't be as hungry later in the evening because you will have already gotten lots of vitamins and minerals. I eat most of my food for breakfast and lunch... And I mean, a LOT. Hope that helps xxpeisi

Ooo rawgosia! I love that! That we *both* get bloodwork done! I am going to suggest this to him, and I will make an appointment for the both of us as well! He admitted to me later in the day that he is very ashamed of how he treated me. It just hit him all of a sudden when his mother invited us to lunch and he was too "embarrassed" to say yes because he didn't know what I was goi

Hi guys, thank you all so much for the supportive kind words. I have been very upset about this all day, and I am still crying as I type. The stress is my life, and this problem, is just very 'heavy'. When the @#$%& hits the fan, it seems to all hit at once, if you know what I mean. The thing is, I started this diet to help with my renal kidney failure. My husband doesn't really understand

So for the longest time, I have stayed away from meat and cheese, but now that I have "labelled" myself a raw vegan at home, my husband is becoming not only concerned, but "ashamed". Last night, as I was eating some zucchini pasta, he came into the living room, sat on the couch opposite me and said "It is a shame that you aren't normal anymore, because I would really l

Hey Rian, I guess I don't really believe in "perfect". There are many raw foods out there that can be very dangerous to one's health, for example cacao. Also, I think a spoonful of taco spice one or twice a week isn't going to cause much damage. The human body is an amazing thing, and with all the raw foods I eat, I know I am strong enough to process any toxins in the spices. I thin

I read your blog and I saw a picture of your lunch: "Lunch: mung bean sprouts, red onion, garlic, hot peppers, and broccoli in a sauce made primarily from nutritional yeast (Lewis Labs, my favorite), 3 ounces of vegan white wine (usually red)" This looks relly yummy and I might try it!! But can you explain to me how to make it exactly, and also roughly what it tastes like? I have

Hey sachelle, doll! Thanks for keeping track on me on my journal! I have been very busy lately with work, and dentistry preparations. I had to travel to stockholm last week, so that is why I didn't reply sooner!! Check out my post on the 12 week raw trial! I actually lost about 5 pounds, which is pretty nice since I haven't been losing weight in a while on raw. I am probably going to get clothes

This is my lovely sunburnt nose guys... I worked ALL day in the blistering sun, and I forgot to put some (aluminium free) sunblock on my nose, so now you all can call me "big red". Anyone else get this problem? I usually only put sunblock on my nose because I want to soak up the vitamin D on the rest of my face, which never burns. xxpeisi
