Suncloud, My husband's symptoms are a feeling of having a 'knot' in his stomach, tiredness, energy drain, and a very uncomfortable tension sensation in his throat. He also had a very painful finger joint on his hand, which completely healed up within days after cutting out all night shades. As for negative reactions to solanine, I think it is not considered an allergy, but rather an inability

Some people have more trouble with the solanine in night shades than others. Hubby, for one, cant tolerate them. He started feeling so much better once he stopped tomato/potato/bell pepper consumption. Bummer, tho. I love Ts!

Kiki, try neti pots. They are a bit tedious at first, but once you get the hang of it you wont want to go without. They will clear up your mucus very quickly. You can find some videos on You Tube about them, or google. Ancent yogic technique of nasal rinsing.

Chia is the seed of a Salvia herb. It's a seed, not a grain or pseudo grain. Also, it contains no gluten, in case that's of interest in this context.

Spirulina grows primarily in fresh water, not salt water, so the Swedish coast line wont be of much help as for Spirulina.

Hey, I am a touring musician, too. Above suggestions are great. I always have some 'emergency' dates in my bag, just in case. Also dulse and seaweed. I always bring food from home (salads, fruit) for the flights. And our tour rider says: fresh fruit. Happy touring. nibs myspace.com/bassista

I am experimenting with the nitty gritty of food combining. All the charts I am finding have more than 80% of stuff on it that I don't eat (from meat to eggs to breads etc). Anyone know of a good printable (or order-able) vegan food combining chart?

While detoxing these experiences would make a lot of sense and are just transitory. Detox comes in waves (for me anyways). I think emotional work is also needed, as raw food does not provide the numbing out effect of cooked or fat foods. As for fats, I personally stay away from all overt fats except for a brazil nut a day (selenium) and my Omega 3 supplements. Fat makes me fuzzy and my m

Second the Green Star love affair! I have found that mine works best by feeding it different things in succession. Some very moist items, like cucumbers for ex, tend to create a fluid 'cushion' that gets things stopped. Add some lettuce or bulkier dry item, and it will move again. As for the outlet knob, I sometimes even remove it. If the pulp stays very moist I run it through again. Have you

You are saying you dont know how to make raw a reality for you. My suggestion would be to continue doing what you are doing now - so if you are used to 'grab and go', do that, but raw(er). If you like to cook, prepare raw vegan dishes. (You may want to look into the fat content debate, as many prepared vegan dishes are very high in fat, which works for some, but not for others.) 143. Cooked
So a few weeks ago I travelled to family and started eating more cooked food again. I was never 100% raw, but had been at a nice balance of mostly fruit, greens and some steamed veggies and cooked lentils and beans. While traveling I started eating rice again, didn't have access to my usual greens, and also ate a lot of potatoes. chestnuts, and Veggies that were cooked in oil (family went out of

Last week I listened to an NPR broadcast about chemicals in the human body. It was all very interesting and enlightening - such and such chemicals had been found in the body, how noone knows what this may mean for short and long term health, how noone knows how some of those chemicals even enter human tissue, what legislature and public health systems can do to prevent this from getting worse, ho

Dancer, I have experience with Wellbutrin. At first it helped very much with compulsive eating as well as depression. But when going off it there were strange and strong rebound cravings as well as other problems. It took a while to get my balance back. Wild weight fluctuations, amongst other things, were a problem when going off it. It helped with mood and depression at first, but the effects

Best of luck phantom! You could also do neti pots and oil pulling while fasting. Both of those have done tremendous things for me n regards to clearing things out. If you google them or check out neti pots on youtube you will get plenty of resources.
