An example is a snake bite, and venom that is put into the prey. It is coming from OUT not from IN. And for you, because it is coming from OUTSIDE it is not harmful. There are such things as outright poisons, i.e., substances which were not meant to enter our bodies. "Germs" are not in that category. "Germs" are your body's response to dead, degenerate or dying tissue.

Quotedoghouse reilly I find cucumber noodles much more palatable than zucchini noodles. Standard issue store bought zucchini are not too tasty. If you want really good tasting zucchini you have to grow it yourself or get some from somebody who grows it in their garden. IMO the best variety (heirloom) is Costata Romanesco. Cocozelle is quite nice, too.

Every "old" person I have ever seen (say, over 70) and have known since they were younger, has thin legs, thinner than previously. So this is supposed to indicate loss of muscle. They have all been meat eaters all their lives. Some of them have been physically active, too. So, what gives, if meat is supposed to keep your muscles nice and big and youthful...

Many years later, Dr. Mercola is on the you-must-eat-beef-or-suffer-thinnng-muscles campaign. "Eat beef for carnosine or you will be sorry!" Mind you, I notice that he does say you can take beta alanine instead of his carnosine supplement: Another alternative is to supplement with beta-alanine, which is the rate limiting amino acid in the formation of carnosine. According to a

Quotedoghouse reilly It's kind of ridiculous to use Viktoras as an example of a raw vegan diet being insufficient for maintaining health and vitality. His versions of raw vegan diet have been very low calorie and quite weird, frankly speaking. Is it surprising that living on 200 calories a day of sprouts and Wheatgrass for years at a time and then (by his own admission) binging and engaging in bu

Quotefresh QuoteHorsea Today I ate oranges, blueberries, grapes, bananas, strawberries, cherries, figs and dates. Also juicing vegetables. You mean you ate this way as a sort of semifast? Or as normal daily nutrition? What did you do for protein? Hello Horsea I was shocked to see this question Are you thinking fruit doesn't contain protein? Not enough? How would you know?

"Invading germ"? Fighting? What the hey? Your body does not fight. It just deals with reality. There is no army, no battlefield in there.

Thanx for the link to that video. There is much discussion in the comments under the video of the interview about the fact that Pitchford doesn't look so hot health-wise. However, that would depend on how old he is at that time. If he is 80, then he looks OK. Some people really are healthy but when they get old, they look wan, weak and too thin, but I would not be too quick to judge. We see

. A good recipe for winter is Butternut Squash Soup. Easy. Steam the squash, peel it, add coconut milk and a date or some mango, sprinkle of cinnamon and blend it. Thanks for the recipe. Squash is my favorite food without a doubt.

There is no easy way of knowing whether we have worms or not No easy way to get rid of them Much has been written on parasite infestation from a medical viewpoint. But then there's the ages-old folklore viewpoint. We have to investigate and think hard, and then put it all together. How did our own ancestors of the past know to deworm their children once a year? I never suspected I

@Jennifer. Too bad raw figs are out of season now. Dried figs are also raw (to the best of my knowledge). Do I have this right.

QuoteRawPracticalist Maybe it is not the food. Re the 2nd link about red meat consumption. My brother had (still has? I dunno) some stomach problems for quite some time and was told by a M.D. to stop eating so much red meat. He didn't even have to ask him about his diet; he just assumed it was red-meat related and my brother apparently did not deny it. So, sometimes M.D.s are usefu

Maybe there's 78 year olds who do eat vegetables every day and are "doing fine" as well. By the way, most people who can get up in the morning and walk to the bathroom unassisted consider themselves to be "healthy". And of course they never tell you that they cannot get dressed and go to work without guzzling a couple of cups of coffee first. And, further, that the

Thanks for advice on soaking Brazil nuts. I have various sorts of nut crackers and none of them are particularly suitable for Brazils. So, I wrap the nut in a piece of cloth and use a hammer.

Yes, I love how so many people have to make the distinction so as not be stigmatized - "I'm not Anti-Vax, I'm just against the Covid Vaccine." LOL! I wish I had just 10 cents for every time I heard or read that...

How on earth can they make and bottle raw nut butters? Doesn't everything have to be pasteurized or else it goes moldy? In any case, your raw meal sounds wonderful.

Well, there's other things out there that can make us sick as hell without being shedded on or receiving the killshot. How about 24/7 exposure to 5G just for starters. And there is fluoridated water in some areas and people still use the schit that comes out of their faucets even when they could afford to have buckets of purified water delivered to their home, or pick it up at the pure water

Why does fruitarianism fail? Well, off the top of my head, I'd say that eating nothing but fruit is vastly different from including some fresh fruit along with your other foods.

At least as far as most North Americans are concerned, except maybe for the ones living right on the coasts, eating seaweed is just not in our culture. I used to eat kombu; when my friends saw me wolfing down that slimy, well cooked stuff, they would make all kinds of rude noises indicating disgust. You are probably right about the amount of iodine or any other element excreted (by anyone):

Yes, I saw this on his website several days ago and was floored. 99% of health advisers have no capacity to say, "I have changed my mind. This no longer works for me." Probably a diet including far more fruit would balance out all that meat protein, and then, sure as the sun rises in the east, people will flip over to something else after that balance is reached. Yin and yang.

Time to revisit this topic. Abstract Iodine content in food of plant origin is lower in comparison with that of animal origin due to a low iodine concentration in soil. Urinary iodine excretion was assessed in 15 vegans, 31 lacto- and lacto-ovovegetarians and 35 adults on a mixed diet. Iodine excretion was significantly lower in alternative nutrition groups - 172 microg/l in vegetaria
